John 6
1 After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee — that is, the sea of Tiberias.
ตต: ปรํ ยีศุ รฺคาลีลฺ ปฺรเทศียสฺย ติวิริยานามฺน: สินฺโธ: ปารํ คตวานฺฯ
2 And a great number of people went after him because they saw the signs which he did on those who were ill.
ตโต วฺยาธิมโลฺลกสฺวาสฺถฺยกรณรูปาณิ ตสฺยาศฺจรฺยฺยาณิ กรฺมฺมาณิ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา พหโว ชนาสฺตตฺปศฺจาทฺ อคจฺฉนฺฯ
3 Then Jesus went up the mountain and was seated there with his disciples.
ตโต ยีศุ: ปรฺวฺวตมารุหฺย ตตฺร ศิไษฺย: สากมฺฯ
4 Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.
ตสฺมินฺ สมย นิสฺตาโรตฺสวนามฺนิ ยิหูทียานาม อุตฺสว อุปสฺถิเต
5 Lifting up his eyes, Jesus saw a great number of people coming to where he was, and he said to Philip, Where may we get bread for all these people?
ยีศุ เรฺนเตฺร อุตฺโตลฺย พหุโลกานฺ สฺวสมีปาคตานฺ วิโลกฺย ผิลิปํ ปฺฤษฺฏวานฺ เอเตษำ โภชนาย โภชทฺรวฺยาณิ วยํ กุตฺร เกฺรตุํ ศกฺรุม: ?
6 This he said, testing him: for he had no doubt what he himself would do.
วากฺยมิทํ ตสฺย ปรีกฺษารฺถมฺ อวาทีตฺ กินฺตุ ยตฺ กริษฺยติ ตตฺ สฺวยมฺ อชานาตฺฯ
7 Philip made answer, Bread to the value of two hundred pence would not be enough even to give everyone a little.
ผิลิป: ปฺรตฺยโวจตฺ เอเตษามฺ เอไกโก ยทฺยลฺปมฺ อลฺปํ ปฺราปฺโนติ ตรฺหิ มุทฺราปาททฺวิศเตน กฺรีตปูปา อปิ นฺยูนา ภวิษฺยนฺติฯ
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to Jesus,
ศิโมนฺ ปิตรสฺย ภฺราตา อานฺทฺริยาขฺย: ศิษฺยาณาเมโก วฺยาหฺฤตวานฺ
9 There is a boy here with five barley cakes and two fishes: but what is that among such a number?
อตฺร กสฺยจิทฺ พาลกสฺย สมีเป ปญฺจ ยาวปูปา: กฺษุทฺรมตฺสฺยทฺวยญฺจ สนฺติ กินฺตุ โลกานำ เอตาวาตำ มเธฺย ไต: กึ ภวิษฺยติ?
10 Jesus said, Let the people be seated. Now there was much grass in that place. And those seated on the grass were about five thousand.
ปศฺจาทฺ ยีศุรวทตฺ โลกานุปเวศยต ตตฺร พหุยวสสตฺตฺวาตฺ ปญฺจสหสฺเตฺรโภฺย นฺยูนา อธิกา วา ปุรุษา ภูมฺยามฺ อุปาวิศนฺฯ
11 Then Jesus took the cakes and having given praise to God, he gave them to the people who were seated, and the fishes in the same way, as much as they had need of.
ตโต ยีศุสฺตานฺ ปูปานาทาย อีศฺวรสฺย คุณานฺ กีรฺตฺตยิตฺวา ศิเษฺยษุ สมารฺปยตฺ ตตเสฺต เตภฺย อุปวิษฺฏโลเกภฺย: ปูปานฺ ยเถษฺฏมตฺสฺยญฺจ ปฺราทุ: ฯ
12 And when they had had enough, Jesus said to his disciples, Take up the broken bits which are over, so that nothing may be wasted.
เตษุ ตฺฤปฺเตษุ ส ตานโวจทฺ เอเตษำ กิญฺจิทปิ ยถา นาปจียเต ตถา สรฺวฺวาณฺยวศิษฺฏานิ สํคฺฤหฺลีตฯ
13 So they took them up: twelve baskets full of broken bits of the five cakes which were over after the people had had enough.
ตต: สรฺเวฺวษำ โภชนาตฺ ปรํ เต เตษำ ปญฺจานำ ยาวปูปานำ อวศิษฺฏานฺยขิลานิ สํคฺฤหฺย ทฺวาทศฑลฺลกานฺ อปูรยนฺฯ
14 And when the people saw the sign which he had done, they said, Truly, this is the prophet who is to come into the world.
อปรํ ยีโศเรตาทฺฤศีมฺ อาศฺจรฺยฺยกฺริยำ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา โลกา มิโถ วกฺตุมาเรภิเร ชคติ ยสฺยาคมนํ ภวิษฺยติ ส เอวายมฺ อวศฺยํ ภวิษฺยทฺวกฺตฺตาฯ
15 Now when Jesus saw that the people were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, he went away again up the mountain by himself.
อเตอว โลกา อาคตฺย ตมากฺรมฺย ราชานํ กริษฺยนฺติ ยีศุเสฺตษามฺ อีทฺฤศํ มานสํ วิชฺญาย ปุนศฺจ ปรฺวฺวตมฺ เอกากี คตวานฺฯ
16 When evening came the disciples went down to the sea;
สายํกาล อุปสฺถิเต ศิษฺยา ชลธิตฏํ วฺรชิตฺวา นาวมารุหฺย นครทิศิ สินฺเธา วาหยิตฺวาคมนฺฯ
17 And they took a boat and went across the sea in the direction of Capernaum. By then it was dark and still Jesus had not come to them.
ตสฺมินฺ สมเย ติมิร อุปาติษฺฐตฺ กินฺตุ ยีษุเสฺตษำ สมีปํ นาคจฺฉตฺฯ
18 The sea was getting rough because of a strong wind which was blowing.
ตทา ปฺรพลปวนวหนาตฺ สาคเร มหาตรงฺโค ภวิตุมฺ อาเรเภฯ
19 After they had gone three or four miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near to the boat; and they had great fear.
ตตเสฺต วาหยิตฺวา ทฺวิตฺรานฺ โกฺรศานฺ คตา: ปศฺจาทฺ ยีศุํ ชลเธรุปริ ปทฺภฺยำ วฺรชนฺตํ เนากานฺติกมฺ อาคจฺฉนฺตํ วิโลกฺย ตฺราสยุกฺตา อภวนฺ
20 But he said to them, It is I, have no fear.
กินฺตุ ส ตานุกฺตฺตวานฺ อยมหํ มา ไภษฺฏฯ
21 Then they readily took him into the boat: and straight away the boat was at the land to which they were going.
ตทา เต ตํ ไสฺวรํ นาวิ คฺฤหีตวนฺต: ตทา ตตฺกฺษณาทฺ อุทฺทิษฺฏสฺถาเน เนารุปาสฺถาตฺฯ
22 The day after, the people who were on the other side of the sea saw that only one small boat had been there, that Jesus had not gone in that boat with the disciples, but that the disciples had gone away by themselves.
ยยา นาวา ศิษฺยา อคจฺฉนฺ ตทนฺยา กาปิ เนากา ตสฺมินฺ สฺถาเน นาสีตฺ ตโต ยีศุ: ศิไษฺย: สากํ นาคมตฺ เกวลา: ศิษฺยา อคมนฺ เอตตฺ ปารสฺถา โลกา ชฺญาตวนฺต: ฯ
23 Some other boats, however, came from Tiberias near to the place where they had taken the bread after the Lord had given praise.
กินฺตุ ตต: ปรํ ปฺรภุ รฺยตฺร อีศฺวรสฺย คุณานฺ อนุกีรฺตฺตฺย โลกานฺ ปูปานฺ อโภชยตฺ ตตฺสฺถานสฺย สมีปสฺถติวิริยายา อปราสฺตรณย อาคมนฺฯ
24 So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, or his disciples, they got into those boats and went over to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
ยีศุสฺตตฺร นาสฺติ ศิษฺยา อปิ ตตฺร นา สนฺติ โลกา อิติ วิชฺญาย ยีศุํ คเวษยิตุํ ตรณิภิ: กผรฺนาหูมฺ ปุรํ คตา: ฯ
25 And when they came across him on the other side of the sea they said, Rabbi, when did you come here?
ตตเสฺต สริตฺปเต: ปาเร ตํ สากฺษาตฺ ปฺราปฺย ปฺราโวจนฺ เห คุโร ภวานฺ อตฺร สฺถาเน กทาคมตฺ?
26 Jesus, answering them, said, Truly I say to you, You come after me, not because you saw signs, but because you were given the bread and had enough.
ตทา ยีศุสฺตานฺ ปฺรตฺยวาทีทฺ ยุษฺมานหํ ยถารฺถตรํ วทามิ อาศฺจรฺยฺยกรฺมฺมทรฺศนาทฺเธโต รฺน กินฺตุ ปูปโภชนาตฺ เตน ตฺฤปฺตตฺวาญฺจ มำ คเวษยถฯ
27 Let your work not be for the food which comes to an end, but for the food which goes on for eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you, for on him has God the Father put his mark. (aiōnios g166)
กฺษยณียภกฺษฺยารฺถํ มา ศฺรามิษฺฏ กินฺตฺวนฺตายุรฺภกฺษฺยารฺถํ ศฺรามฺยต, ตสฺมาตฺ ตาทฺฤศํ ภกฺษฺยํ มนุชปุโตฺร ยุษฺมาภฺยํ ทาสฺยติ; ตสฺมินฺ ตาต อีศฺวร: ปฺรมาณํ ปฺราทาตฺฯ (aiōnios g166)
28 Then they said to him, How may we do the works of God?
ตทา เต'ปฺฤจฺฉนฺ อีศฺวราภิมตํ กรฺมฺม กรฺตฺตุมฺ อสฺมาภิ: กึ กรฺตฺตวฺยํ?
29 Jesus, answering, said to them, This is to do the work of God: to have faith in him whom God has sent.
ตโต ยีศุรวททฺ อีศฺวโร ยํ ไปฺรรยตฺ ตสฺมินฺ วิศฺวสนมฺ อีศฺวราภิมตํ กรฺมฺมฯ
30 So they said, What sign do you give us, so that we may see and have faith in you? What do you do?
ตทา เต วฺยาหรนฺ ภวตา กึ ลกฺษณํ ทรฺศิตํ ยทฺทฺฤษฺฏฺวา ภวติ วิศฺวสิษฺยาม: ? ตฺวยา กึ กรฺมฺม กฺฤตํ?
31 Our fathers had the manna in the waste land, as the Writings say, He gave them bread from heaven.
อสฺมากํ ปูรฺวฺวปุรุษา มหาปฺรานฺตเร มานฺนำ โภกฺตฺตุํ ปฺราปุ: ยถา ลิปิราเสฺตฯ สฺวรฺคียาณิ ตุ ภกฺษฺยาณิ ปฺรทเทา ปรเมศฺวร: ฯ
32 Jesus then said to them, Truly I say to you, What Moses gave you was not the bread from heaven; it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
ตทา ยีศุรวททฺ อหํ ยุษฺมานติยถารฺถํ วทามิ มูสา ยุษฺมาภฺยํ สฺวรฺคียํ ภกฺษฺยํ นาทาตฺ กินฺตุ มม ปิตา ยุษฺมาภฺยํ สฺวรฺคียํ ปรมํ ภกฺษฺยํ ททาติฯ
33 The bread of God is the bread which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.
ย: สฺวรฺคาทวรุหฺย ชคเต ชีวนํ ททาติ ส อีศฺวรทตฺตภกฺษฺยรูป: ฯ
34 Ah, Lord, they said, give us that bread for ever!
ตทา เต ปฺราโวจนฺ เห ปฺรโภ ภกฺษฺยมิทํ นิตฺยมสฺมภฺยํ ททาตุฯ
35 And this was the answer of Jesus: I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be in need of food, and he who has faith in me will never be in need of drink.
ยีศุรวททฺ อหเมว ชีวนรูปํ ภกฺษฺยํ โย ชโน มม สนฺนิธิมฺ อาคจฺฉติ ส ชาตุ กฺษุธารฺตฺโต น ภวิษฺยติ, ตถา โย ชโน มำ ปฺรเตฺยติ ส ชาตุ ตฺฤษารฺตฺโต น ภวิษฺยติฯ
36 But it is as I said to you: you have seen me, and still you have no faith.
มำ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวาปิ ยูยํ น วิศฺวสิถ ยุษฺมานหมฺ อิตฺยโวจํฯ
37 Whatever the Father gives to me will come to me; and I will not send away anyone who comes to me.
ปิตา มหฺยํ ยาวโต โลกานททาตฺ เต สรฺวฺว เอว มมานฺติกมฺ อาคมิษฺยนฺติ ย: กศฺจิจฺจ มม สนฺนิธิมฺ อายาสฺยติ ตํ เกนาปิ ปฺรกาเรณ น ทูรีกริษฺยามิฯ
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my pleasure, but the pleasure of him who sent me.
นิชาภิมตํ สาธยิตุํ น หิ กินฺตุ เปฺรรยิตุรภิมตํ สาธยิตุํ สฺวรฺคาทฺ อาคโตสฺมิฯ
39 And this is the pleasure of him who sent me, that I am not to let out of my hands anything which he has given me, but I am to give it new life on the last day.
ส ยานฺ ยานฺ โลกานฺ มหฺยมททาตฺ เตษาเมกมปิ น หารยิตฺวา เศษทิเน สรฺวฺวานหมฺ อุตฺถาปยามิ อิทํ มตฺเปฺรรยิตุ: ปิตุรภิมตํฯ
40 This, I say, is my Father's pleasure, that everyone who sees the Son and has faith in him may have eternal life: and I will take him up on the last day. (aiōnios g166)

41 Now the Jews said bitter things about Jesus because of his words, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
ตทา สฺวรฺคาทฺ ยทฺ ภกฺษฺยมฺ อวาโรหตฺ ตทฺ ภกฺษฺยมฺ อหเมว ยิหูทียโลกาสฺตไสฺยตทฺ วาเกฺย วิวทมานา วกฺตฺตุมาเรภิเร
42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we have seen? How is it then that he now says, I have come down from heaven?
ยูษผ: ปุโตฺร ยีศุ รฺยสฺย มาตาปิตเรา วยํ ชานีม เอษ กึ เสอว น? ตรฺหิ สฺวรฺคาทฺ อวาโรหมฺ อิติ วากฺยํ กถํ วกฺตฺติ?
43 Jesus made answer and said, Do not say things against me, one to another.
ตทา ยีศุสฺตานฺ ปฺรตฺยวทตฺ ปรสฺปรํ มา วิวทธฺวํ
44 No man is able to come to me if the Father who sent me does not give him the desire to come: and I will take him up from the dead on the last day.
มตฺเปฺรรเกณ ปิตฺรา นากฺฤษฺฏ: โกปิ ชโน มมานฺติกมฺ อายาตุํ น ศกฺโนติ กินฺตฺวาคตํ ชนํ จรเม'หฺนิ โปฺรตฺถาปยิษฺยามิฯ
45 The writings of the prophets say, And they will all have teaching from God. Everyone whose ears have been open to the teaching of the Father comes to me.
เต สรฺวฺว อีศฺวเรณ ศิกฺษิตา ภวิษฺยนฺติ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทินำ คฺรนฺเถษุ ลิปิริตฺถมาเสฺต อโต ย: กศฺจิตฺ ปิตุ: สกาศาตฺ ศฺรุตฺวา ศิกฺษเต ส เอว มม สมีปมฺ อาคมิษฺยติฯ
46 Not that anyone has ever seen the Father; only he who is from God, he has seen the Father.
ย อีศฺวราทฺ อชายต ตํ วินา โกปิ มนุโษฺย ชนกํ นาทรฺศตฺ เกวล: เสอว ตาตมฺ อทฺรากฺษีตฺฯ
อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ยถารฺถตรํ วทามิ โย ชโน มยิ วิศฺวาสํ กโรติ โสนนฺตายุ: ปฺราปฺโนติฯ (aiōnios g166)
48 I am the bread of life.
อหเมว ตชฺชีวนภกฺษฺยํฯ
49 Your fathers took the manna in the waste land — and they are dead.
ยุษฺมากํ ปูรฺวฺวปุรุษา มหาปฺรานฺตเร มนฺนาภกฺษฺยํ ภูกฺตฺตาปิ มฺฤตา:
50 The bread which comes from heaven is such bread that a man may take it for food and never see death.
กินฺตุ ยทฺภกฺษฺยํ สฺวรฺคาทาคจฺฉตฺ ตทฺ ยทิ กศฺจิทฺ ภุงฺกฺตฺเต ตรฺหิ ส น มฺริยเตฯ
51 I am the living bread which has come from heaven: if any man takes this bread for food he will have life for ever: and more than this, the bread which I will give is my flesh which I will give for the life of the world. (aiōn g165)
ยชฺชีวนภกฺษฺยํ สฺวรฺคาทาคจฺฉตฺ โสหเมว อิทํ ภกฺษฺยํ โย ชโน ภุงฺกฺตฺเต ส นิตฺยชีวี ภวิษฺยติฯ ปุนศฺจ ชคโต ชีวนารฺถมหํ ยตฺ สฺวกียปิศิตํ ทาสฺยามิ ตเทว มยา วิตริตํ ภกฺษฺยมฺฯ (aiōn g165)
52 Then the Jews had an angry discussion among themselves, saying, How is it possible for this man to give us his flesh for food?
ตสฺมาทฺ ยิหูทียา: ปรสฺปรํ วิวทมานา วกฺตฺตุมาเรภิเร เอษ โภชนารฺถํ สฺวียํ ปลลํ กถมฺ อสฺมภฺยํ ทาสฺยติ?
53 Then Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, If you do not take the flesh of the Son of man for food, and if you do not take his blood for drink, you have no life in you.
ตทา ยีศุสฺตานฺ อาโวจทฺ ยุษฺมานหํ ยถารฺถตรํ วทามิ มนุษฺยปุตฺรสฺยามิเษ ยุษฺมาภิ รฺน ภุกฺตฺเต ตสฺย รุธิเร จ น ปีเต ชีวเนน สารฺทฺธํ ยุษฺมากํ สมฺพนฺโธ นาสฺติฯ
54 He who takes my flesh for food and my blood for drink has eternal life: and I will take him up from the dead at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
โย มมามิษํ สฺวาทติ มม สุธิรญฺจ ปิวติ โสนนฺตายุ: ปฺราปฺโนติ ตต: เศเษ'หฺนิ ตมหมฺ อุตฺถาปยิษฺยามิฯ (aiōnios g166)
55 My flesh is true food and my blood is true drink.
ยโต มทียมามิษํ ปรมํ ภกฺษฺยํ ตถา มทียํ โศณิตํ ปรมํ เปยํฯ
56 He who takes my flesh for food and my blood for drink is in me and I in him.
โย ชโน มทียํ ปลลํ สฺวาทติ มทียํ รุธิรญฺจ ปิวติ ส มยิ วสติ ตสฺมินฺนหญฺจ วสามิฯ
57 As the living Father has sent me, and I have life because of the Father, even so he who takes me for his food will have life because of me.
มตฺเปฺรรยิตฺรา ชีวตา ตาเตน ยถาหํ ชีวามิ ตทฺวทฺ ย: กศฺจินฺ มามตฺติ โสปิ มยา ชีวิษฺยติฯ
58 This is the bread which has come down from heaven. It is not like the food which your fathers had: they took of the manna, and are dead; but he who takes this bread for food will have life for ever. (aiōn g165)
ยทฺภกฺษฺยํ สฺวรฺคาทาคจฺฉตฺ ตทิทํ ยนฺมานฺนำ สฺวาทิตฺวา ยุษฺมากํ ปิตโร'มฺริยนฺต ตาทฺฤศมฺ อิทํ ภกฺษฺยํ น ภวติ อิทํ ภกฺษฺยํ โย ภกฺษติ ส นิตฺยํ ชีวิษฺยติฯ (aiōn g165)
59 Jesus said these things in the Synagogue while he was teaching at Capernaum.
ยทา กผรฺนาหูมฺ ปุรฺยฺยำ ภชนเคเห อุปาทิศตฺ ตทา กถา เอตา อกถยตฺฯ
60 Then, hearing this, a number of his disciples said, This is a hard saying; who is able to take in such teaching?
ตเทตฺถํ ศฺรุตฺวา ตสฺย ศิษฺยาณามฺ อเนเก ปรสฺปรมฺ อกถยนฺ อิทํ คาฒํ วากฺยํ วากฺยมีทฺฤศํ ก: โศฺรตุํ ศกฺรุยาตฺ?
61 When Jesus became conscious that his disciples were protesting about what he said, he said to them, Does this give you trouble?
กินฺตุ ยีศุ: ศิษฺยาณามฺ อิตฺถํ วิวาทํ สฺวจิตฺเต วิชฺญาย กถิตวานฺ อิทํ วากฺยํ กึ ยุษฺมากํ วิฆฺนํ ชนยติ?
62 What then will you say if you see the Son of man going up to where he was before?
ยทิ มนุชสุตํ ปูรฺวฺววาสสฺถานมฺ อูรฺทฺวฺวํ คจฺฉนฺตํ ปศฺยถ ตรฺหิ กึ ภวิษฺยติ?
63 The spirit is the life giver; the flesh is of no value: the words which I have said to you are spirit and they are life.
อาตฺไมว ชีวนทายก: วปุ รฺนิษฺผลํ ยุษฺมภฺยมหํ ยานิ วจำสิ กถยามิ ตานฺยาตฺมา ชีวนญฺจฯ
64 But still some of you have no faith. For it was clear to Jesus from the first who they were who had no faith, and who it was who would be false to him.
กินฺตุ ยุษฺมากํ มเธฺย เกจน อวิศฺวาสิน: สนฺติ เก เก น วิศฺวสนฺติ โก วา ตํ ปรกเรษุ สมรฺปยิษฺยติ ตานฺ ยีศุราปฺรถมาทฺ เวตฺติฯ
65 And he said, This is why I said to you, No man is able to come to me if he is not given the power to do so by the Father.
อปรมปิ กถิตวานฺ อสฺมาตฺ การณาทฺ อกถยํ ปิตุ: สกาศาตฺ ศกฺตฺติมปฺราปฺย โกปิ มมานฺติกมฺ อาคนฺตุํ น ศกฺโนติฯ
66 Because of what he said, a number of the disciples went back and would no longer go with him.
ตตฺกาเล'เนเก ศิษฺยา วฺยาฆุฏฺย เตน สารฺทฺธํ ปุน รฺนาคจฺฉนฺฯ
67 So Jesus said to the twelve, Have you a desire to go away?
ตทา ยีศุ รฺทฺวาทศศิษฺยานฺ อุกฺตฺตวานฺ ยูยมปิ กึ ยาสฺยถ?
68 Then Simon Peter gave this answer: Lord, to whom are we to go? you have the words of eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
ตต: ศิโมนฺ ปิตร: ปฺรตฺยโวจตฺ เห ปฺรโภ กสฺยาภฺยรฺณํ คมิษฺยาม: ? (aiōnios g166)
69 And we have faith and are certain that you are the Holy One of God.
อนนฺตชีวนทายิโนฺย ยา: กถาสฺตาสฺตไววฯ ภวานฺ อมเรศฺวรสฺยาภิษิกฺตฺตปุตฺร อิติ วิศฺวสฺย นิศฺจิตํ ชานีม: ฯ
70 Then Jesus said, Did I not make a selection of you, the twelve, and one of you is a son of the Evil One?
ตทา ยีศุรวทตฺ กิมหํ ยุษฺมากํ ทฺวาทศชนานฺ มโนนีตานฺ น กฺฤตวานฺ? กินฺตุ ยุษฺมากํ มเธฺยปิ กศฺจิเทโก วิฆฺนการี วิทฺยเตฯ
