Job 40
Waaqayyos Iyyoobiin akkana jedhe:
2 Will he who is protesting give teaching to the Ruler of all? Let him who has arguments to put forward against God give an answer.
“Namni Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandaʼuun falmu tokko isa ni qajeelchaa? Namni Waaqa himatu deebii haa kennuuf!”
3 And Job said in answer to the Lord,
Iyyoobis akkana jedhee Waaqayyoof deebise:
4 Truly, I am of no value; what answer may I give to you? I will put my hand on my mouth.
“Ani nama faayidaa hin qabnee dha; akkamittin deebii siif kenna? Harka koo afaan koo irra nan kaaʼadha.
5 I have said once, and even twice, what was in my mind, but I will not do so again.
Ani yeroo tokko dubbadheera; garuu ani waanan deebisu hin qabu; siʼa lama dubbadheera; kana caalaa garuu homaa hin jedhu.”
6 Then the Lord made answer to Job out of the storm-wind, and said,
Kana irratti Waaqayyo bubbee jabaa keessaa Iyyoobitti dubbate:
7 Get your strength together like a man of war: I will put questions to you, and you will give me the answers.
“Akka dhiiraatti mudhii kee hidhadhu; ani sin gaafadha; ati immoo deebii naa kennita.
8 Will you even make my right of no value? will you say that I am wrong in order to make clear that you are right?
“Ati murtii koo qajeelaa sana gatii dhabsiistaa? Ofii keetii qajeelaa taʼuuf na himattaa?
9 Have you an arm like God? have you a voice of thunder like his?
Irree akka irree Waaqaa qabdaa? Sagaleen kees akka sagalee isaa qaqawweessaʼuu dandaʼaa?
10 Put on the ornaments of your pride; be clothed with glory and power:
Ulfinaa fi guddinaan of miidhagsi; kabajaa fi barreedina uffadhu.
11 Let your wrath be overflowing; let your eyes see all the sons of pride, and make them low.
Dheekkamsa kee kan guutee irra yaaʼu sana dhangalaasi; nama of tuulu kam iyyuu ilaalii qaanessi.
12 Send destruction on all who are lifted up, pulling down the sinners from their places.
Nama of tuulu hunda ilaalii gad deebisi; hamoota illee iddoodhuma isaan dhaabatanitti caccabsi.
13 Let them be covered together in the dust; let their faces be dark in the secret place of the underworld.
Isaan hunda walitti qabii biyyoo keessatti awwaali; fuula isaaniis awwaala keessa dhoksi.
14 Then I will give praise to you, saying that your right hand is able to give you salvation.
Yoos ani mataan koo, akka harki kee mirgaa si oolchuu dandaʼu siifin mirkaneessa.
15 See now the Great Beast, whom I made, even as I made you; he takes grass for food, like the ox.
“Bihemootin ani akkuman si uumettin uume, kan akkuma qotiyyoo marga dheedu sana mee ilaali.
16 His strength is in his body, and his force in the muscles of his stomach.
Jabinni isaa dugda isaa keessa, humni isaa immoo ribuu garaa isaa keessa jira!
17 His tail is curving like a cedar; the muscles of his legs are joined together.
Eegeen isaa akkuma muka birbirsaa raafama; ribuun tafa isaa wal keessa xaxamaa dha.
18 His bones are pipes of brass, his legs are like rods of iron.
Lafeen isaa akka ujummoo naasii ti; harkii fi miilli isaa immoo akka ulee sibiilaa ti.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God, made by him for his pleasure.
Inni uumamawwan Waaqaa keessaa hangafa; garuu inni isa uume goraadee isaatiin isatti dhiʼaachuu dandaʼa.
20 He takes the produce of the mountains, where all the beasts of the field are at play.
Gaarran marga ni kennuuf; bineensonni hundi naannoo isaa ni burraaqu.
21 He takes his rest under the trees of the river, and in the pool, under the shade of the water-plants.
Inni huuxxii qoraattii qabu jala ciisa; shambaqqoo lafa dhaqdhaqii keessa dhokata.
22 He is covered by the branches of the trees; the grasses of the stream are round him.
Gaaddisni huuxxii qoraattii qabuu isa haguuga; alaltuun lagaas isa marsa.
23 Truly, if the river is overflowing, it gives him no cause for fear; he has no sense of danger, even if Jordan is rushing against his mouth.
Yommuu lagni cabsee yaaʼutti iyyuu kunoo, inni hin rifatu. Lagni Yordaanos afaan isaa irra garagalu iyyuu inni hin shishu.
24 Will anyone take him when he is on the watch, or put metal teeth through his nose?
Namni utuma inni arguu isa qabuu yookaan kiyyoodhaan isa qabee funyaan isaa uruu dandaʼu tokko iyyuu jiraa?
