< Job 34 >

1 And Elihu made answer and said,
Tete Elihu gblɔ be,
2 Give ear, you wise, to my words; and you who have knowledge, give attention to me;
“Mise nye nyawo, mi nunyalawo, miɖo tom, mi nugɔmeselawo,
3 For words are tested by the ear, as food is tasted by the mouth.
elabena to doa nyawo kpɔ abe ale si aɖe ɖɔa nuɖuɖu kpɔe ene.
4 Let us make the decision for ourselves as to what is right; let us have the knowledge among ourselves of what is good.
Mina míadze si nu si le dzɔdzɔe la na mía ɖokui eye mina míasrɔ̃ nu si nyo la ɖekae.
5 For Job has said, I am upright, and it is God who has taken away my right;
“Hiob gblɔ be, ‘Nyemeɖi fɔ o gake Mawu gbe afiatsotso nam
6 Though I am right, still I am in pain; my wound may not be made well, though I have done no wrong.
Togbɔ be tɔnye dzɔ hã la, wobum alakpatɔe, togbɔ be nyemeɖi fɔ o hã la, eƒe aŋutrɔ de abi makumaku ŋutinye’
7 What man is like Job, a man who freely makes sport of God,
Ame kae le abe Hiob, ame si no fewuɖuɖu abe tsi ene?
8 And goes in the company of evil-doers, walking in the way of sinners?
Edea ha kple nu vɔ̃ɖi wɔlawo eye wòbɔa ha kple ame vɔ̃ɖiwo.
9 For he has said, It is no profit to a man to take delight in God.
Elabena egblɔ be, ‘Viɖe aɖeke mele eme ne èdze agbagba be yeadze Mawu ŋu o.’
10 Now then, you wise, take note; you men of knowledge, give ear to me. Let it be far from God to do evil, and from the Ruler of all to do wrong.
“Eya ta miɖo tom, mi ŋutsu nugɔmeselawo. Nete ɖa xaa tso Mawu gbɔ, be wòawɔ nu vɔ̃ɖi kple Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la, be wòawɔ nu gbegblẽ.
11 For he gives to every man the reward of his work, and sees that he gets the fruit of his ways.
Ewɔna na ame ɖe nu si wòwɔ la nu eye wòhea nu si eƒe nuwɔnawo dze na la vaa edzii.
12 Truly, God does not do evil, and the Ruler of all is not a false judge.
Mele be wòava ame ƒe ta me gɔ̃ hã be Mawu awɔ nu gbegblẽ alo be Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la atso afia ŋkunɔ o.
13 Who put the earth into his care, or made him responsible for the world?
Ame kae tsɔe ɖo anyigbadzikpɔlae? Ame kae tsɔe ɖo xexea me katã nu?
14 If he made his spirit come back to him, taking his breath into himself again,
Ne enye eƒe tameɖoɖo eye wòɖo asi eƒe gbɔgbɔ kple agbegbɔgbɔ dzi la,
15 All flesh would come to an end together, and man would go back to the dust.
amegbetɔwo katã atsrɔ̃ eye ame atrɔ azu anyi.
16 If you are wise, take note of this; give ear to the voice of my words.
“Ne gɔmesese le asiwò la, se nya sia, lé to ɖe nu si gblɔ ge mele la ŋuti.
17 How may a hater of right be a ruler? and will you say that the upright Ruler of all is evil?
Ɖe ame si tsri afia nyui tsotso la ate ŋu akplɔ dua? Ɖe nàbu fɔ dzɔdzɔetɔ kple Ŋusẽtɔ la?
18 He who says to a king, You are an evil-doer; and to rulers, You are sinners;
Ɖe menye Eyae nye ame si gblɔ na fiawo be, ‘Mienyo na naneke o’ eye na bubumewo be, ‘Ame vɔ̃ɖiwo mienye’ oa,
19 Who has no respect for rulers, and who gives no more attention to those who have wealth than to the poor, for they are all the work of his hands.
ame si medea amegãwo dzi o eye mewɔa nyui na kesinɔtɔwo, gblẽa ame dahewo ɖi o, elabena wo katã nye eƒe asinudɔwɔwɔwo oa?
20 Suddenly they come to an end, even in the middle of the night: the blow comes on the men of wealth, and they are gone, and the strong are taken away without the hand of man.
Wokuna kpata le zãtitina, ameawo ʋuʋuna eye wo nu va yina ale woɖea kalẽtɔwo ɖa amegbetɔ ƒe asi manɔmee.
21 For his eyes are on the ways of a man, and he sees all his steps.
“Eƒe ŋkuwo le amegbetɔwo ƒe mɔwo ŋu, ekpɔa woƒe afɔɖeɖe ɖe sia ɖe.
22 There is no dark place, and no thick cloud, in which the workers of evil may take cover.
Teƒe doblukɔ alo teƒe doviviti tsiɖitsiɖitsiɖi aɖeke meli si nu tovo wɔlawo asi abe ɖo o.
23 For he does not give man a fixed time to come before him to be judged.
Mehiã be Mawu nado amegbetɔwo kpɔ ayi ŋgɔ alo woava eŋkume wòadrɔ̃ ʋɔnu wo o.
24 He sends the strong to destruction without searching out their cause, and puts others in their place.
Mekua nya gɔme hafi kakaa ŋusẽtɔwo, eye wòtsɔa ame bubuwo ɖoa wo teƒe o.
25 For he has knowledge of their works, overturning them in the night, so that they are crushed.
Elabena eƒe ŋku le woƒe nuwɔnawo ŋu eya ta etua asi wo ƒua anyi le zã me, eye wogbãna gudugudugudu.
26 The evil-doers are broken by his wrath, he puts his hand on them with force before the eyes of all onlookers.
Ehea to na wo ɖe woƒe vɔ̃ɖivɔ̃ɖi ta, le afi si ame sia ame ate ŋu akpɔ wo le
27 Because they did not go after him, and took no note of his ways,
elabena wotrɔ le eyome eye womegatsɔ ɖeke le eme na eƒe mɔ aɖeke o.
28 So that the cry of the poor might come up to him, and the prayer of those in need come to his ears.
Wona ame dahewo ƒe konyifafa va eŋkume, ale be wòse hiãtɔwo ƒe ɣlidodo
Ke ne ezi ɖoɖoe kpoo la, ame ka abu fɔe? Ne eɣla eƒe mo la, ame ka ate ŋu akpɔe? Ke hã la, ele amewo kple dukɔwo tame sɔsɔe,
be maɖe mɔ na Mawumavɔ̃la wòaɖu fia o eye be maɖe mɔ nɛ wòaɖo mɔ na ameawo o.
“Tsɔe be ame aɖe gblɔ na Mawu be, ‘Medze agɔ gake nyemagawɔe azɔ o.
Fia nu si nyemate ŋu akpɔ o lam, ne mewɔ nu gbegblẽ la, nyemagawɔe azɔ o.’
Ɖe Mawu aɖo eteƒe na wò le wò didi nu, esi nègbe be yematrɔ dzi me oa? Wòe wòle be nàɖo eŋu, menye nyee o eya ta gblɔ nu si nènya la nam.
34 Men of knowledge, and all wise men, hearing me, will say,
“Nugɔmeselawo gblɔe eye nunyala siwo se nye nyawo la gblɔ nam be,
35 Job's words do not come from knowledge; they are not the fruit of wisdom.
‘Hiob ƒoa nu nugɔmemasemasetɔe eye susu mele eƒe nyawo me o.’
36 May Job be tested to the end, because his answers have been like those of evil men.
O, ɖe woado Hiob akpɔ va se ɖe nuwuwu, be wòɖo nya ŋu abe ame vɔ̃ɖi ene la, ne anyo ŋutɔ!
37 For in addition to his sin, he is uncontrolled in heart; before our eyes he makes sport of God, increasing his words against him.
Etsɔ aglãdzedze kpe ɖe eƒe nu vɔ̃ ŋuti, esia akpe fewuɖutɔe le mía dome eye wòle nyawo gblɔm fũu ɖe Mawu ŋu.”
