Job 28
1 Truly there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is washed out.
വെള്ളിക്ക് ഒരു ഖനിയും സ്വർണം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ട്.
2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and stone is changed into brass by the fire.
ഇരുമ്പ് മണ്ണിൽനിന്നെടുക്കുന്നു; ചെമ്പ് അതിന്റെ അയിര് ഉരുക്കി വേർതിരിക്കുന്നു.
3 Man puts an end to the dark, searching out to the farthest limit the stones of the deep places of the dark.
മനുഷ്യർ അന്ധകാരത്തിന് അറുതി വരുത്തുന്നു; പാറയുടെ വിദൂരഗഹ്വരങ്ങൾ തുരന്നുചെന്ന് ഘോരാന്ധകാരത്തിൽ അയിരു തേടുന്നു.
4 He makes a deep mine far away from those living in the light of day; when they go about on the earth, they have no knowledge of those who are under them, who are hanging far from men, twisting from side to side on a cord.
ആൾപ്പാർപ്പുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് അകലെയായി അവർ ഒരു തുരങ്കം നിർമിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യരുടെ പാദസ്പർശം ഏൽക്കാത്തിടത്ത് ഖനിയിലെ കയറിൽ തൂങ്ങിയാടി അവർ പണിയെടുക്കുന്നു.
5 As for the earth, bread comes out of it; but under its face it is turned up as if by fire.
ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്ന് മനുഷ്യൻ ആഹാരം വിളയിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ അന്തർഭാഗം തീപോലെ തിളച്ചുമറിയുന്നു.
6 Its stones are the place of sapphires, and it has dust of gold.
അതിലെ പാറകളിൽനിന്ന് ഇന്ദ്രനീലക്കല്ലുകൾ ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ മണ്ണിൽ തങ്കക്കട്ടികളുണ്ട്.
7 No bird has knowledge of it, and the hawk's eye has never seen it.
ഇരപിടിയൻപക്ഷി ആ വഴി അറിയുന്നില്ല, ഒരു പരുന്തിന്റെ കണ്ണും അതു കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.
8 The great beasts have not gone over it, and the cruel lion has not taken that way.
വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾ ആ വഴി താണ്ടിയിട്ടില്ല, ഒരു സിംഹവും അതിലെ ഇരതേടി ചുറ്റിക്കറങ്ങിയിട്ടില്ല.
9 Man puts out his hand on the hard rock, overturning mountains by the roots.
മനുഷ്യകരങ്ങൾ തീക്കല്ലിൽ ആഞ്ഞുപതിക്കുന്നു, അവർ പർവതങ്ങളുടെ അടിവേരുകൾ ഇളക്കിമറിക്കുന്നു.
10 He makes deep ways, cut through the rock, and his eye sees everything of value.
അവർ പാറയിലൂടെ തുരങ്കങ്ങൾ വെട്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; വിലയേറിയതെന്തും അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.
11 He keeps back the streams from flowing, and makes the secret things come out into the light.
അവർ നദികളുടെ പ്രഭവസ്ഥാനം തെരഞ്ഞു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു, നിഗൂഢമായവയെ അവർ വെളിച്ചത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
12 But where may wisdom be seen? and where is the resting-place of knowledge?
എന്നാൽ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നാണു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്? വിവേകം വസിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം എവിടെ?
13 Man has not seen the way to it, and it is not in the land of the living.
അതിന്റെ മൂല്യം മർത്യർ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല; ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്ത് അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്താൻ കഴിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
14 The deep waters say, It is not in me: and the sea says, It is not with me.
“അത് എന്നിലില്ല,” എന്ന് ആഴി പറയുന്നു; “അത് എന്റെ അടുക്കലില്ല,” എന്നു സമുദ്രവും അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നു.
15 Gold may not be given for it, or a weight of silver in payment for it.
മേൽത്തരമായ തങ്കംകൊടുത്ത് അതു വാങ്ങാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല; വെള്ളി അതിന്റെ വിലയായി തൂക്കിനൽകാനും കഴിയില്ല.
16 It may not be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the onyx of great price, or the sapphire.
ഓഫീർതങ്കംകൊണ്ട് അതിന്റെ വിലമതിക്കുക അസാധ്യം, ഗോമേദകമോ ഇന്ദ്രനീലക്കല്ലോ അതിനു പകരമാകുകയില്ല.
17 Gold and glass are not equal to it in price, and it may not be exchanged for jewels of the best gold.
സ്വർണമോ സ്ഫടികമോ അതിനു തുല്യമാകുകയില്ല, രത്നാലംകൃത സ്വർണാഭരണങ്ങളാൽ അതു വെച്ചുമാറുന്നതിനും സാധ്യമല്ല.
18 There is no need to say anything about coral or crystal; and the value of wisdom is greater than that of pearls.
പവിഴത്തിന്റെയും സൂര്യകാന്തത്തിന്റെയും കാര്യം പറയുകയേ വേണ്ട; മാണിക്യത്തെക്കാൾ അത്യന്തം മൂല്യവത്താണ് ജ്ഞാനം.
19 The topaz of Ethiopia is not equal to it, and it may not be valued with the best gold.
കൂശ് ദേശത്തുള്ള പുഷ്യരാഗംപോലും അതിനോടുപമിക്കാവുന്നതല്ല; പരിശുദ്ധസ്വർണം നൽകിയും അതു വാങ്ങാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല.
20 From where then does wisdom come, and where is the resting-place of knowledge?
അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? വിവേകം വസിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം എവിടെ?
21 For it is kept secret from the eyes of all living, unseen by the birds of the air.
ജീവനുള്ള സകലരുടെയും കണ്ണുകൾക്ക് അതു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകൾക്കുപോലും അതു ഗോപ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
22 Destruction and Death say, We have only had word of it with our ears.
നരകവും മരണവും പറയുന്നു: “അതിനെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള ഒരു കേട്ടുകേൾവിമാത്രമാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാതുകളിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.”
23 God has knowledge of the way to it, and of its resting-place;
അതിലേക്കുള്ള വഴി ദൈവംമാത്രം അറിയുന്നു, അതിന്റെ നിവാസസ്ഥാനം ഏതെന്ന് അവിടത്തേക്കു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ട്,
24 For his eyes go to the ends of the earth, and he sees everything under heaven.
കാരണം ഭൂസീമകൾ അവിടത്തേക്കു ദൃശ്യമാണ് ആകാശവിതാനത്തിനു കീഴിലുള്ള സമസ്തവും അവിടന്ന് കാണുന്നു.
25 When he made a weight for the wind, measuring out the waters;
കാറ്റിന്റെ ശക്തി അവിടന്നു നിജപ്പെടുത്തിയപ്പോൾ വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ അളവു നിർണയിച്ചപ്പോൾ,
26 When he made a law for the rain, and a way for the thunder-flames;
അവിടന്നു മഴയ്ക്ക് ഒരു കൽപ്പനയും ഇടിമിന്നലിന് ഒരു വഴിയും നിശ്ചയിച്ചപ്പോൾ,
27 Then he saw it, and put it on record; he gave it its fixed form, searching it out completely.
അവിടന്ന് ജ്ഞാനത്തെ കാണുകയും അതിന്റെ മൂല്യം നിർണയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവിടന്ന് അതിനെ സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കുകയും പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
28 And he said to man, Truly the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to keep from evil is the way to knowledge.
“കണ്ടാലും, കർത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തി—അതാണ് ജ്ഞാനം; ദോഷം വിട്ടകലുന്നതുതന്നെ വിവേകം,” എന്ന് അവിടന്നു മാനവരാശിയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
