< Isaiah 5 >
1 Let me make a song about my loved one, a song of love for his vine-garden. My loved one had a vine-garden on a fertile hill:
Aoka aho hihira ny amin’ ny Malalako, dia hiran’ ny Malalako ny amin’ ny tanim-boalobony. Ny Malalako nanana tanim-boaloboka tao an-kavoana lonaka;
2 And after working the earth of it with a spade, he took away its stones, and put in it a very special vine; and he put up a watchtower in the middle of it, hollowing out in the rock a place for the grape-crushing; and he was hoping that it would give the best grapes, but it gave common grapes.
Dia nasainy io, ka nesoriny ny vato, Ary novoleny karazam-boaloboka tsara, Sady nanao tilikambo teo afovoany Izy Ary nandavaka famiazam-boaloboka teo; Dia nanantena azy hamoa voaloboka tsara Izy, Kanjo namoa voalobo-dratsy.
3 And now, you people of Jerusalem and you men of Judah, be the judges between me and my vine-garden.
Koa noho izany, ry mponina any Jerosalema sy ry lehilahy amin’ ny Joda, Masìna ianareo, tsarao Aho sy ny tanim-boaloboko.
4 Is there anything which might have been done for my vine-garden which I have not done? why then, when I was hoping for the best grapes did it give me common grapes?
Inona moa no mbola azo natao tamin’ ny tanim-boaloboko, Ka tsy efa nataoko taminy? Koa raha nanantena azy hamoa voaloboka tsara Aho, Nahoana no namoa voalobo-dratsy izy?
5 And now, this is what I will do to my vine-garden: I will take away the circle of thorns round it, and it will be burned up; its wall will be broken down and the beasts of the field will go through it;
Koa noho izany dia aoka hambarako anareo izay hataoko amin’ ny tanim-boaloboko: Hesoriko ny fefy tsilony, ka dia holevonina izy; Ary harodako ny fefy vatony, ka dia ho voahitsakitsaka izy;
6 And I will make it waste; its branches will not be touched with the knife, or the earth worked with the spade; but blackberries and thorns will come up in it: and I will give orders to the clouds not to send rain on it.
Ary hataoko simba dia simba izy; Tsy hohetezana ny sakeli-boalobony, ary tsy hohevoina izy, Fa ho rakotry ny hery sy ny tsilo; Ary hodidiako ny rahona tsy hampilatsaka ranonorana aminy.
7 For the vine-garden of the Lord of armies is the people of Israel, and the men of Judah are the plant of his delight: and he was looking for upright judging, and there was blood; for righteousness, and there was a cry for help.
Fa ny taranak’ i Isiraely no tanim-boalobok’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, Ary ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda no voly tiany; Dia nanantena fitsarana marina Izy, kanjo fandatsahan-drà; Niandry fahamarinana Izy, kanjo, indro, fitarainana.
8 Cursed are those who are joining house to house, and putting field to field, till there is no more living-space for any but themselves in all the land!
Lozanareo izay mangorona trano lalandava Sady mampiharo vala ny saha amin’ ny saha, Ambara-paha-tsy hisy hitoeran’ ny sasany intsony, Mba ho tonga mponina manirery eo amin’ ny tany ianareo!
9 The Lord of armies has said to me secretly, Truly, numbers of great and fair houses will be waste, with no one living in them.
Izao no ren’ ny sofiko avy amin’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro: Marina tokoa fa ho foana ny trano maro, Eny, na dia izay lehibe sady tsara aza dia tsy hisy mpitoetra.
10 For ten fields of vines will only give one measure of wine, and a great amount of seed will only give a small measure of grain.
Ary bata iray monja no ho vokatry ny tanim-boaloboka folo Zemeda, Ary rehefa iray monja no ho vokatry ny voan-javatra eran’ ny homera.
11 Cursed are those who get up early in the morning to give themselves up to strong drink; who keep on drinking far into the night till they are heated with wine!
Lozan’ izay mifoha maraina koa ka mitady toaka! Izay miboboka mandra-paharivan’ ny andro ka ampirehetin’ ny divay!
12 And corded instruments and wind-instruments and wine are in their feasts: but they give no thought to the work of the Lord, and they are not interested in what his hands are doing.
Ary ny lokanga sy ny valiha, ny ampongatapaka sy ny sodina ary ny divay no foto-panasany; Fa ny asan’ i Jehovah tsy mba jereny, Ary ny ataon’ ny tanany tsy mba hitany.
13 For this cause my people are taken away as prisoners into strange countries for need of knowledge: and their rulers are wasted for need of food, and their loud-voiced feasters are dry for need of water.
Ary noho izany dia ho lasan-ko babo ny oloko noho ny tsi-fahalalany, Ary ny olona ambony ho mosarena, Ary ny valalabemandry ho main’ ny hetaheta.
14 For this cause the underworld has made wide its throat, opening its mouth without limit: and her glory, and the noise of her masses, and her loud-voiced feasters, will go down into it. (Sheol )
Koa izany no mampitanatana vava ny fiainan-tsi-hita Hanao teli-moka an’ i Jerosalema; Ary any no hivarinan’ ny voninahiny sy ny fihahohahony ary ny tabatabany mbamin’ izay mifalifaly ao aminy; (Sheol )
15 And the poor man's head is bent, and the great man goes down on his face, and the eyes of pride are put to shame:
Ary ny zanak’ olombelona dia hatao mitanondrika, Ary ny olona haetry, Ary ny mason’ ny miandranandrana dia haidina.
16 But the Lord of armies is lifted up as judge, and the Holy God is seen to be holy in righteousness.
Fa Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no hisandratra amin’ ny fitsarana, Ary Andriamanitra masìna dia hiseho ho masìna amin’ ny fahamarinana.
17 Then the lambs will get food as in their grass-lands, and the fat cattle will be feasting in the waste places.
Ary ny zanak’ ondry hikania toy ny eny amin’ ny tany fiandrasana azy ihany; Ary ny tany foana izay nipetrahan’ ny matavy, dia mpirenireny no hiandry ondry ao.
18 Cursed are those who make use of ox-cords for pulling the evil thing, and the bands of a young ox for their sin!
Lozan’ izay mitari-keloka amin’ ny kofehin’ ny faharatsiana Ary mitarika ota toy ny amin’ ny mahazakan-tsariety,
19 Who say, Let him do his work quickly, let him make it sudden, so that we may see it: let the design of the Holy One of Israel come near, so that it may be clear to us.
Dia izay manao hoe: Aoka hohafainganiny sy hododonany ny asany, mba ho hitantsika, Ary aoka izay kasain’ ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely ho mby akaiky ka ho tanteraka, mba ho fantatsika!
20 Cursed are those who give the name of good to evil, and of evil to what is good: who make light dark, and dark light: who make bitter sweet, and sweet bitter!
Lozan’ izay milaza ny ratsy ho tsara ary na tsara ho ratsy! Izay manao ny maizina ho mavaza ary ny mazava ho maizina! Izay manao ny mangidy ho mamy ary ny mamy ho mangidy!
21 Cursed are those who seem wise to themselves, and who take pride in their knowledge!
Lozan’ izay manao azy ho hendry sy manao azy ho mazava saina!
22 Cursed are those who are strong to take wine, and great in making mixed drinks!
Lozan’ izay fatratra nefa amin’ ny fisotroan-divay ihany, sy izay kanto nefa amin’ ny fampiharoharoana toaka ihany!
23 Who for a reward give support to the cause of the sinner, and who take away the righteousness of the upright from him.
Ary izay manamarina ny meloka noho ny kolikoly sy manala ny rariny amin’ ny marina!
24 For this cause, as the waste of the grain is burned up by tongues of fire, and as the dry grass goes down before the flame, so their root will be like the dry stems of grain, and their flower will go up in dust: because they have gone against the law of the Lord of armies, and have given no honour to the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Koa toy ny fandevonan’ ny lelafo ny mololo, ary toy ny fifitsaky ny bozaka midedadeda, dia toy izany no hahalovan’ ny fakany sy hijofoan’ ny voniny hanjary vovoka, satria efa nandà ny lalàn’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro izy Sy nanamavo ny tenin’ ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely.
25 For this reason the wrath of the Lord has been burning against his people, and his hand has been stretched out against them in punishment, and the hills were shaking, and their dead bodies were like waste in the open places of the town.
Koa izany no irehetan’ ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah amin’ ny olony sy aninjirany ny tànany aminy ka amelezany azy; Dia mihorohoro ny tendrombohitra, ary ny fatin’ ny olona dia tonga tahaka ny diky eny an-dalambe. Kanefa, na dia izany rehetra izany aza, dia tsy mbola afaka ihany ny fahatezerany, fa mbola mihinjitra ihany ny tànany.
26 And he will let a flag be lifted up as a sign to a far-off nation, whistling to them from the ends of the earth: and they will come quickly and suddenly.
Ary hanangana faneva ho amin’ ny firenena lavitra Izy sady hisiaka hiantso ny iray avy any am-paran’ ny tany; Ary, indro, ho avy faingana dia faingana ireo;
27 There is no weariness among them, and no man is feeble-footed: they come without resting or sleeping, and the cord of their shoes is not broken.
Tsy hisy reraka na tafintohina ao aminy; Tsy ho rendrehana na hatory izy: Tsy hiboraka ny fehin-kibony, ary tsy ho tapaka ny fehin-kapany,
28 Their arrows are sharp, and every bow is bent: the feet of their horses are like rock, and their wheels are like a rushing storm.
Maranitra ny zana-tsipìkany, Ary voahenjana avokoa ny tsipìkany; Ny kitron-tsoavaliny atao ho tahaka ny afovato; Ary ny kodiany ho tahaka ny tadio;
29 The sound of their armies will be like the voice of a lion, and their war-cry like the noise of young lions: with loud cries they will come down on their food and will take it away safely, and there will be no one to take it out of their hands.
Ny fierony dia tahaka ny fieron’ ny liom-bavy, Ary mierona tahaka ny liona tanora izy; Eny, manerona izy ka mandrapaka ny toha, Dia lasany, ka tsy azo alaina intsony.
30 And his voice will be loud over him in that day like the sounding of the sea: and if a man's eyes are turned to the earth, it is all dark and full of trouble; and the light is made dark by thick clouds.
Ary hirohondrohona aminy amin’ izany andro izany izy Tahaka ny firohondrohon’ ny ranomasina; Ary raha mijery ny tany ny olona, dia indro aizina sy fahoriana; Ary ny fahazavana hohamaizinin’ ny rahona.
