Isaiah 28
1 Ho! crown of pride of those who are given up to wine in Ephraim, and the dead flower of his glory which is on the head of those who are overcome by strong drink!
૧એફ્રાઇમના ભાન ભૂલેલા વ્યસનીઓના માળાને, તેની તેજસ્વી સુંદરતાનાં લુપ્ત થતાં ફૂલોને, રસાળ ખીણના મથાળા પરના તેના મહાન શોભા આપનારાં ચીમળાનાર ફૂલોને અફસોસ છે.
2 See, the Lord has a strong and cruel one; like a rain of ice, a storm of destruction, like the overflowing of a strong river, he will violently overcome them.
૨જુઓ, પ્રભુનો એક પરાક્રમી અને સમર્થ વીર છે; તે કરાની આંધી, નાશ કરનાર તોફાન, જબરાં ઊભરાતાં પાણીના પૂરની જેમ પૃથ્વીને પોતાના હાથના જોરથી પછાડશે.
3 The crown of pride of those who are given up to wine in Ephraim will be crushed under foot;
૩એફ્રાઇમના ભાન ભૂલેલા વ્યસનીઓના માળાને તે પગ નીચે પછાડાશે.
4 And the dead flower of his glory, which is on the head of the fertile valley, will be like the first early fruit before the summer; which a man takes and puts in his mouth the minute he sees it.
૪અને મોસમ આવે તે અગાઉનાં પાકેલાં, પ્રથમ અંજીરને જોનાર જુએ છે અને તેના હાથ માં આવતાં જ ગળી જાય છે, તેના જેવી ગતિ રસાળ ખીણને મથાળે આવેલા તેના મહાન શોભા આપનાર ચીમળાનાર ફૂલોની થશે.
5 In that day will the Lord of armies be a crown of glory, and a fair ornament, to the rest of his people;
૫તે દિવસે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ પોતાના લોકના શેષને માટે મહિમાનો મુગટ તથા સૌદર્યનો તાજ થશે.
6 And a spirit of wisdom to the judge, and strength to those who keep back the attackers at the door of the town.
૬જે ન્યાય કરવા બેસે છે તેને માટે ન્યાયનો આત્મા થશે અને શત્રુઓને દરવાજામાંથી પાછા મોકલનારને માટે સામર્થ્યરૂપ થશે.
7 And further, these are uncertain through wine, and have gone out of the right way through strong drink: the priest and the prophet are uncertain through strong drink, they are overcome by wine, they have gone out of the way through strong drink; their vision is false, they go wrong in their decisions.
૭પરંતુ તેઓએ પણ દ્રાક્ષારસને લીધે ઠોકર ખાધી છે અને દારૂને લીધે તેઓ ભૂલા પડ્યા છે. યાજકે તથા પ્રબોધકે દારૂને લીધે અથડાયા કર્યા છે, તેઓ દ્રાક્ષારસમાં મગ્ન થયા છે. તેઓ દારૂના સેવનને લીધે ભૂલા પડ્યા છે, દર્શન વિષે તેઓ ભૂલથાપ ખાય છે અને ઇનસાફ આપવામાં ઠોકર ખાય છે.
8 For all the tables are covered with coughed-up food, so that there is not a clean place.
૮ખરેખર, ઊલટીથી સર્વ મેજો ભરપૂર છે, તેથી કોઈ પણ જગા સ્વચ્છ રહી નથી.
9 To whom will he give knowledge? and to whom will he make clear the word? Will it be to those who have newly given up milk, and who have only now been taken from the breast?
૯તે કોને ડહાપણ શીખવશે અને કોને સંદેશો સમજાવશે? શું તે ધાવણ મુકાવેલાઓને તથા સ્તનપાન છોડાવેલાઓને સમજાવશે?
10 For it is one rule after another; one line after another; here a little, there a little.
૧૦કેમ કે આજ્ઞા પર આજ્ઞા, આજ્ઞા પર આજ્ઞા; નિયમ પર નિયમ, નિયમ પર નિયમ; થોડું આમ, થોડું તેમ એ પ્રમાણે તેઓ બોલે છે.
11 No, but with broken talk, and with a strange tongue, he will give his word to this people:
૧૧કેમ કે ઉપહાસ કરનાર હોઠોથી અને અન્ય ભાષામાં તે આ લોકો સાથે વાત કરશે.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest, give rest to him who is tired; and by this you may get new strength; but they would not give ear.
૧૨પાછલા દિવસોમાં તેમણે તેઓને કહ્યું હતું, “આ વિશ્રામ છે, થાકેલાઓને વિશ્રામ આપો; અને આ તાજગી છે,” પણ તેઓએ સંભાળવા ચાહ્યું નહિ.
13 For this cause the word of the Lord will be to them rule after rule, line after line, here a little, there a little; so that they may go on their way, and falling back may be broken, and taken in the net.
૧૩તેથી યહોવાહના શબ્દો તેઓને માટે આજ્ઞા પર આજ્ઞા, આજ્ઞા પર આજ્ઞા; નિયમ પર નિયમ, નિયમ પર નિયમ; થોડું આમ, થોડું તેમ એવા થશે; તેથી તેઓ રસ્તે ચાલતાં ઠોકર ખાઈને પાછા પડે, તૂટી જાય, ફસાઈ અને પકડાય.
14 Give ear then to the word of the Lord, you men of pride, the rulers of this people in Jerusalem:
૧૪એ માટે યરુશાલેમમાંના લોકો પર અધિકાર ચલાવનાર, તિરસ્કાર કરનાર તમે યહોવાહનાં વચન સાંભળો:
15 Because you have said, We have made death our friend, and with the underworld we have made an agreement; when the overflowing waters come through they will not come near us; for we are looking to false words for help, taking cover in what is untrue: (Sheol h7585)
૧૫કેમ કે તમે કહ્યું છે, “અમે મૃત્યુ સાથે કરાર કર્યો છે; અમે શેઓલની સાથે સમજૂતી કરી છે. જ્યારે ન્યાય ઊભરાઈને દેશમાં થઈને પાર જશે, ત્યારે તે અમારા સુધી પહોંચશે નહિ, કેમ કે અમે જૂઠાણાને અમારો આશ્રય બનાવ્યો છે અને અસત્યતામાં અમે છુપાઈ ગયા છીએ.” (Sheol h7585)
16 For this cause says the Lord God, See, I am placing in Zion as a base, a stone, a tested stone, an angle-stone which is certain and of great value: and he who has faith will not give way.
૧૬તેથી પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, “જુઓ: સિયોનમાં હું પાયાનો પથ્થર મૂકુ છું, તે કસી જોયેલો પથ્થર, મૂલ્યવાન ખૂણાનો પથ્થર, મૂળ પાયો છે. જે વિશ્વાસ રાખે છે તે લજ્જિત થશે નહિ.
17 And I will make right decision the measuring-line, and righteousness the weight: and the ice-storm will take away the safe place of false words, and the secret place will be covered by the flowing waters.
૧૭હું ઇનસાફને દોરી અને ન્યાયીપણાને ઓળંબો કરીશ. જૂઠાણાનો આશ્રય કરાનાં તોફાનથી તણાઈ જશે અને સંતાવાની જગા પર પાણીનું પૂર ફરી વળશે.
18 And the help you were looking for from death will come to nothing, and your agreement with the underworld will be broken; when the overflowing waters come through, then you will be overcome by them. (Sheol h7585)
૧૮મૃત્યુ સાથેનો તમારો કરાર રદ કરવામાં આવશે અને શેઓલ સાથેની તમારી સમજૂતી ટકશે નહિ. વળી સંકટની રેલ જ્યારે ચઢી આવશે ત્યારે તમે તેમાં તણાઈ જશો. (Sheol h7585)
19 Whenever they come through they will overtake you; for they will come through morning after morning, by day and by night: and the news will be nothing but fear.
૧૯તે જેટલી વાર પાર જાય તેટલી વાર તે તમને ડુબાડશે અને સવાર દર સવાર તથા રાતદિવસ તે પસાર થશે. જ્યારે સંદેશો સમજાઈ જશે ત્યારે તે ત્રાસનું કારણ બનશે.
20 For the bed is not long enough for a man to be stretched out on: and the cover is not wide enough for him to be covered with.
૨૦કેમ કે પથારી એટલી ટૂંકી છે કે તેના પર પગ લાંબો થઈ શકશે નહિ અને ચાદર એટલી સાંકડી છે કે તેનાથી શરીર ઢાંકી શકાશે નહિ.”
21 For the Lord will come up as on Mount Perazim, he will be moved to wrath as in the valley of Gibeon; so that he may do his work — strange is his work; and give effect to his act — unnatural is his act.
૨૧કેમ કે જેમ પરાસીમ પર્વત પર થયું; તેમ ગિબ્યોનની ખીણમાં યહોવાહ ઊઠશે અને તે પોતાનાં કામ, અસાધારણ તથા અદ્દભુત કૃત્ય કરશે.
22 And now, take care that you do not make sport of him, or your bands will be made strong; for I have had word from the Lord, the Lord of armies, of an end, of a complete end, which is to come on all the land.
૨૨તો હવે તમે ઉપહાસ ના કરશો, રખેને તમારાં બંધન મજબૂત કરવામાં આવે. કેમ કે આખી પૃથ્વી પર આવનાર વિનાશની ખબર મેં પ્રભુ, સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ પાસેથી સાંભળી છે.
23 Let your ears be open to my voice; give attention to what I say.
૨૩કાન ધરીને મારી વાણી સાંભળો; ધ્યાનથી મારું વચન સાંભળો.
24 Is the ploughman for ever ploughing? does he not get the earth ready and broken up for the seed?
૨૪શું ખેડૂત વાવણી માટે ખેતર ખેડ્યા જ કરે છે? તે શું પોતાનું ખેતર ખોદીને ઢેફાં ભાંગ્યા જ કરે છે?
25 When the face of the earth has been levelled, does he not put in the different sorts of seed, and the grain in lines, and the barley in its place, and the spelt at the edge?
૨૫જ્યારે તે ખેતર તૈયાર કરી દે છે, ત્યારે શું તે તેમાં સૂવા કે જીરું વાવતો નથી, અને ચાસમાં ઘઉં, ઠરાવેલ જગાએ જવ અને મોસમમાં બાજરી તે વાવતો નથી શું?
26 For his God is his teacher, giving him the knowledge of these things.
૨૬કેમ કે તેનો ઈશ્વર તેને યોગ્ય રીત શીખવીને તેને ડહાપણ આપે છે.
27 For the fitches are not crushed with a sharp instrument, and a cart-wheel is not rolled over the cummin; but the grain of the fitches is hammered out with a stick, and of the cummin with a rod.
૨૭વળી, સૂવા અણીદાર સાધનથી મસળાતા નથી કે જીરા પર ગાડાનું પૈડું ફેરવાતું નથી; પણ સૂવા લાકડીથી અને જીરું સોટીથી સાફ કરાય છે.
28 Is the grain for bread crushed? He does not go on crushing it for ever, but he lets his cart-wheels and his horses go over it without crushing it.
૨૮રોટલીનું ધાન્ય પિલાય છે શું? અને પોતાના ગાડાનું પૈડું તથા પોતાના ઘોડાઓને તેના પર સતત ફેરવ્યા કરીને તે તેનો ભૂકો કરશે નહિ.
29 This comes from the Lord of armies, purposing wonders, and wise in all his acts.
૨૯આ જ્ઞાન પણ સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ પાસેથી મળે છે, જે સલાહ આપવામાં અદ્દભુત છે અને બુધ્ધિમાં ઉત્તમ છે.
