Genesis 22
1 Now after these things, God put Abraham to the test, and said to him, Abraham; and he said, Here am I.
௧இந்தக் காரியங்கள் நடந்தபின்பு, தேவன் ஆபிரகாமைச் சோதித்தார்; எப்படியென்றால், அவர் அவனை நோக்கி: “ஆபிரகாமே” என்றார்; அவன்: “இதோ அடியேன்” என்றான்.
2 And he said to him, Take your son, your dearly loved only son Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah and give him as a burned offering on one of the mountains of which I will give you knowledge.
௨அப்பொழுது அவர்: “உன் மகனும், உனது ஒரேமகனும், உனக்குப் பிரியமான மகனுமாகிய ஈசாக்கை நீ இப்பொழுது அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, மோரியா தேசத்திற்குப் போய், அங்கே நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லும் மலைகள் ஒன்றின்மேல் அவனைத் தகனபலியாகப் பலியிடு” என்றார்.
3 And Abraham got up early in the morning, and made ready his ass, and took with him two of his young men and Isaac, his son, and after the wood for the burned offering had been cut, he went on his way to the place of which God had given him word.
௩ஆபிரகாம் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து, தன் கழுதையின்மேல் சேணங்கட்டி, தன் வேலைக்காரர்களில் இரண்டுபேரையும் தன் மகன் ஈசாக்கையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, தகனபலிக்கு விறகுகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, தேவன் தனக்குக் குறித்திருந்த இடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.
4 And on the third day, Abraham, lifting up his eyes, saw the place a long way off.
௪மூன்றாம் நாளில் ஆபிரகாம் தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்த்து, தூரத்திலே அந்த இடத்தைக் கண்டான்.
5 Then he said to his young men, Keep here with the ass; and I and the boy will go on and give worship and come back again to you.
௫அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் தன் வேலைக்காரர்களை நோக்கி: “நீங்கள் கழுதையுடன் இங்கே காத்திருங்கள், நானும் சிறுவனும் அந்த இடத்திற்குப் போய், தொழுதுகொண்டு, உங்களிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பி வருவோம்” என்றான்.
6 And Abraham put the wood for the burned offering on his son's back, and he himself took the fire and the knife in his hand, and the two of them went on together.
௬ஆபிரகாம் தகனபலிக்கு விறகுகளை எடுத்து, தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கின்மேல் வைத்து, தன் கையிலே நெருப்பையும் கத்தியையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் சேர்ந்துபோனார்கள்.
7 Then Isaac said to Abraham, My father; and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, We have wood and fire here, but where is the lamb for the burned offering?
௭அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: “என் தகப்பனே” என்றான்; அதற்கு அவன்: “என் மகனே, இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்” என்றான்; அப்பொழுது அவன்: “இதோ, நெருப்பும் விறகும் இருக்கிறது, தகனபலிக்கு ஆட்டுக்குட்டி எங்கே என்றான்”.
8 And Abraham said, God himself will give the lamb for the burned offering: so they went on together.
௮அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம்: “என் மகனே, தேவன் தகனபலிக்கான ஆட்டுக்குட்டியை அவரே கொடுப்பார்” என்றான்; அப்புறம் இருவரும் சேர்ந்துபோய்,
9 And they came to the place of which God had given him knowledge; and there Abraham made the altar and put the wood in place on it, and having made tight the bands round Isaac his son, he put him on the wood on the altar.
௯தேவன் அவனுக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்த இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்; அங்கே ஆபிரகாம் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தை உண்டாக்கி, விறகுகளை அடுக்கி, தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கைக் கட்டி, அந்தப் பலிபீடத்தில் அடுக்கிய விறகுகளின்மேல் அவனைப் படுக்கவைத்தான்.
10 And stretching out his hand, Abraham took the knife to put his son to death.
௧0பின்பு ஆபிரகாம் தன் மகனை வெட்டுவதற்காக தன் கையை நீட்டிக் கத்தியை எடுத்தான்.
11 But the voice of the angel of the Lord came from heaven, saying, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
௧௧அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனானவர் வானத்திலிருந்து, “ஆபிரகாமே, ஆபிரகாமே என்று கூப்பிட்டார்; அவன்: இதோ, அடியேன் என்றான்.
12 And he said, Let not your hand be stretched out against the boy to do anything to him; for now I am certain that the fear of God is in your heart, because you have not kept back your son, your only son, from me.
௧௨அப்பொழுது அவர்: “சிறுவன்மேல் உன் கையைப் போடாதே, அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் செய்யாதே; நீ அவனை உன் மகன் என்றும், உனது ஒரே மகன் என்றும் பார்க்காமல் எனக்காக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததால் நீ தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவன் என்று இப்பொழுது தெரிந்துகொண்டேன்” என்றார்.
13 And lifting up his eyes, Abraham saw a sheep fixed by its horns in the brushwood: and Abraham took the sheep and made a burned offering of it in place of his son.
௧௩ஆபிரகாம் தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்க்கும்போது, இதோ, தனக்குப் பின்புறமாகப் புதரிலே தன் கொம்புகள் சிக்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவைக் கண்டான்; அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் போய், கடாவைப் பிடித்து, அதைத் தன் மகனுக்குப் பதிலாகத் தகனபலியிட்டான்.
14 And Abraham gave that place the name Yahweh-yireh: as it is said to this day, In the mountain the Lord is seen.
௧௪ஆபிரகாம் அந்த இடத்திற்கு “யேகோவாயீரே என்று பெயரிட்டான்; அதனால் யெகோவாவுடைய மலையில் பார்த்துக்கொள்ளப்படும்” என்று இந்த நாள்வரைக்கும் சொல்லப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
15 And the voice of the angel of the Lord came to Abraham a second time from heaven,
௧௫யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனானவர் இரண்டாவது முறை வானத்திலிருந்து ஆபிரகாமைக் கூப்பிட்டு:
16 Saying, I have taken an oath by my name, says the Lord, because you have done this and have not kept back from me your dearly loved only son,
௧௬“நீ உன் மகன் என்றும், உனது ஒரேமகன் என்றும் பார்க்காமல் அவனை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்ததால்;
17 That I will certainly give you my blessing, and your seed will be increased like the stars of heaven and the sand by the seaside; your seed will take the land of those who are against them;
௧௭நான் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்து, உன் சந்ததியை வானத்திலுள்ள நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலவும், கடற்கரை மணலைப்போலவும் பெருகவே பெருகச்செய்வேன் என்றும், உன் சந்ததியார் தங்கள் எதிரிகளின் வாசல்களைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்ளுவார்கள் என்றும்,
18 And your seed will be a blessing to all the nations of the earth, because you have done what I gave you orders to do.
௧௮நீ என்னுடைய சொல்லுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்ததால், உன் சந்ததிக்குள் பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்து தேசங்களும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும் என்றும் என்பேரில் ஆணையிட்டேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றார்.
19 Then Abraham went back to his young men and they went together to Beer-sheba, the place where Abraham was living.
௧௯ஆபிரகாம் தன் வேலைக்காரர்களிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவந்தான்; அவர்கள் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து பெயெர்செபாவுக்குப் போனார்கள்; ஆபிரகாம் பெயெர்செபாவிலே குடியிருந்தான்.
20 After these things, Abraham had news that Milcah, the wife of his brother Nahor, had given birth to children;
௨0இந்தக் காரியங்கள் நடந்தபின்பு, ஒருவன் ஆபிரகாமிடத்தில் வந்து: “மில்க்காளும் உன் சகோதரனாகிய நாகோருக்கு குழந்தைகளைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்;
21 Uz the oldest, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel, the father of Aram,
௨௧அவர்கள் யாரென்றால், முதற்பிறந்தவனான ஊத்ஸ், அவனுடைய தம்பியாகிய பூஸ், ஆராமுக்குத் தகப்பனாகிய கேமுவேல்,
22 And Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel.
௨௨கேசேத், ஆசோ, பில்தாஸ், இத்லாப், பெத்துவேல் என்பவர்கள்; பெத்துவேல் ரெபெக்காளைப் பெற்றெடுத்தான்” என்று அறிவித்தான்.
23 Bethuel was the father of Rebekah: these eight were the children of Milcah and Nahor, Abraham's brother.
௨௩அந்த எட்டுப்பேரை மில்க்காள் ஆபிரகாமுடைய சகோதரனாகிய நாகோருக்குப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்.
24 And his servant Reumah gave birth to Tebah and Gaham and Tahash and Maacah.
௨௪ரேயுமாள் என்று பெயர்கொண்ட அவனுடைய மறுமனையாட்டியும், தேபா, காகாம், தாகாஸ், மாகா என்பவர்களைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்.
