Ezekiel 1
1 Now it came about in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, while I was by the river Chebar among those who had been made prisoners, that the heavens were made open and I saw visions of God.
Și s-a întâmplat în anul al treizecilea, în [luna] a patra, în a cincea [zi] a lunii, pe când [eram] printre captivii de lângă râul Chebar, [că] cerurile s-au deschis și am văzut viziuni ale lui Dumnezeu.
2 On the fifth day of the month, in the fifth year after King Jehoiachin had been made a prisoner,
În a cincea [zi] a lunii, care [era] anul al cincilea al captivității împăratului Ioiachin,
3 The word of the Lord came to me, Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldaeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was on me there.
Cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit anume la preotul Ezechiel, fiul lui Buzi, în țara caldeenilor lângă râul Chebar; și mâna DOMNULUI a fost acolo asupra lui.
4 And, looking, I saw a storm-wind coming out of the north, a great cloud with flames of fire coming after one another, and a bright light shining round about it and in the heart of it was something coloured like electrum.
Și m-am uitat și, iată, un vârtej de vânt venea din nord, un nor mare și un foc înfășurându-se în el însuși și o strălucire [era] în jurul lui și din mijlocul lui ceva asemănător culorii chihlimbarului, din mijlocul focului.
5 And in the heart of it were the forms of four living beings. And this was what they were like; they had the form of a man.
De asemenea din mijlocul lui [ieșea] asemănarea a patru făpturi vii. Și aceasta [era] înfățișarea lor, aveau asemănarea unui om.
6 And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
Și fiecare avea patru fețe și fiecare avea patru aripi.
7 And their feet were straight feet; and the under sides of their feet were like the feet of oxen; and they were shining like polished brass.
Și picioarele lor [erau] picioare drepte; și talpa picioarelor lor [era] ca talpa piciorului unui vițel; și scânteiau precum culoarea aramei lustruite.
8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings; the four of them had faces on their four sides.
Și [aveau] mâini de om sub aripile lor la cele patru laturi ale lor; și acestea patru aveau fețele lor și aripile lor.
9 They went without turning, every one went straight forward.
Aripile lor [erau] legate una de cealaltă; ele nu se întorceau când mergeau; mergeau fiecare drept înainte.
10 As for the form of their faces, they had the face of a man, and the four of them had the face of a lion on the right side, and the four of them had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four of them had the face of an eagle.
Cât despre asemănarea fețelor lor, acestea patru aveau fața unui om și fața unui leu, pe partea dreaptă; și acestea patru aveau fața unui bou pe partea stângă; acestea patru de asemenea aveau fața unei acvile.
11 And their wings were separate at the top; two of the wings of every one were joined one to another, and two were covering their bodies.
Astfel [erau] fețele lor; și aripile lor [erau] întinse în sus; două [aripi] ale fiecăreia [erau] legate una de cealaltă și două le acopereau trupurile.
12 Every one of them went straight forward; wherever the spirit was to go they went; they went on without turning.
Și mergeau fiecare drept înainte; oriunde îi era dat duhului să meargă, mergeau; [și] nu se întorceau când mergeau.
13 And between the living beings it was like burning coals of fire, as if flames were going one after the other between the living beings; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went thunder-flames.
Cât despre asemănarea făpturilor vii, înfățișarea lor [era] asemenea unor cărbuni de foc arzând [și] asemenea înfățișării lămpilor; [focul] se urca și cobora printre făpturile vii și era strălucitor și din foc ieșeau fulgere.
14 And the living beings went out and came back as quickly as a thunder-flame.
Și făpturile vii alergau și se întorceau ca înfățișarea unei străluciri a fulgerului.
15 Now while I was looking at the four living beings, I saw one wheel on the earth, by the side of the living beings, for the four of them.
Acum, pe când priveam făpturile vii, iată, o roată pe pământ lângă făpturile vii, cu cele patru fețe ale lor.
16 The form of the wheels and their work was like a beryl; the four of them had the same form and design, and they were like a wheel inside a wheel.
Înfățișarea roților și lucrarea lor [era] asemenea culorii berilului; și acestea patru aveau o singură asemănare; și înfățișarea lor și lucrarea lor [erau] ca și cum ar fi o roată în mijlocul unei roți.
17 The four of them went straight forward without turning to one side.
Când mergeau, mergeau pe [toate] cele patru laturi ale lor [și] nu se întorceau când mergeau.
18 And I saw that they had edges, and their edges, even of the four, were full of eyes round about.
Cât despre cercurile lor, ele erau atât de înalte încât erau înspăimântătoare; și cercurile lor [erau] pline de ochi de jur împrejurul celor patru.
19 And when the living beings went on, the wheels went by their side; and when the living beings were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Și când făpturile vii mergeau, roțile mergeau lângă ele; și când făpturile vii erau înălțate de la pământ, roțile erau înălțate.
20 Wherever the spirit was to go they went; and the wheels were lifted up by their side: for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.
Oriunde îi era dat duhului să meargă, mergeau, într-acolo [îi era dat] duhului [lor] să meargă; și roțile erau înălțate în fața lor, pentru că duhul făpturilor vii [era] în roți.
21 When these went on, the others went; and when these came to rest, the others came to rest; and when these were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up by their side: for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.
Când acelea mergeau, [acestea] mergeau; și când acelea stăteau, [acestea] stăteau; și când acelea erau înălțate de la pământ, roțile erau înălțate în fața lor, pentru că duhul făpturilor vii [era] în roți.
22 And over the heads of the living beings there was the form of an arch, looking like ice, stretched out over their heads on high.
Și asemănarea întinderii deasupra capetelor făpturilor vii [era] precum culoarea unui cristal înfricoșător întins peste capetele lor, deasupra.
23 Under the arch their wings were straight, one stretched out to another: every one had two wings covering their bodies on this side and two covering their bodies on that side.
Și sub întindere [erau] aripile lor întinse, una către cealaltă; fiecare avea două, care acopereau de partea aceasta și fiecare avea două, care acopereau de partea aceea, trupurile lor.
24 And when they went, the sound of their wings was like the sound of great waters to my ears, like the voice of the Ruler of all, a sound like the rushing of an army: when they came to rest they let down their wings.
Și când ele mergeau, am auzit vuietul aripilor lor, ca vuietul unor ape mari, ca vocea Celui Atotputernic, vocea unei vorbiri, ca zgomotul unei oștiri; când stăteau în picioare, își lăsau în jos aripile.
25 And there was a voice from the top of the arch which was over their heads: when they came to rest they let down their wings.
Și era o voce de pe întinderea care [era] peste capetele lor, când stăteau în picioare [și] își lăsau în jos aripile.
26 And on the top of the arch which was over their heads was the form of a king's seat, like a sapphire stone; and on the form of the seat was the form of a man seated on it on high.
Și deasupra întinderii care [era] peste capetele lor, [era] asemănarea unui tron, ca înfățișarea unei pietre de safir; și deasupra asemănării tronului [era] o asemănare ca înfățișarea unui om deasupra acestuia.
27 And I saw it coloured like electrum, with the look of fire in it and round it, going up from what seemed to be the middle of his body; and going down from what seemed to be the middle of his body I saw what was like fire, and there was a bright light shining round him.
Și am văzut, precum culoarea chihlimbarului, ca înfățișarea unui foc înăuntru, de jur împrejur, de la înfățișarea coapselor lui drept în sus și de la înfățișarea coapselor lui drept în jos, am văzut ca și cum ar fi înfățișarea focului; și avea o strălucire de jur împrejur.
28 Like the bow in the cloud on a day of rain, so was the light shining round him. And this is what the glory of the Lord was like. And when I saw it I went down on my face, and the voice of one talking came to my ears.
Ca înfățișarea curcubeului care este în nor în ziua cu ploaie, astfel [era] înfățișarea strălucirii de jur împrejur. Aceasta [era] înfățișarea asemănării gloriei DOMNULUI. Și, când am văzut-[o], am căzut cu fața la pământ și am auzit o voce a unuia care vorbea.
