Deuteronomy 32
1 Give ear, O heavens, to my voice; let the earth take note of the words of my mouth:
੧ਹੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼, ਕੰਨ ਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਬੋਲਾਂਗਾ, ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ।
2 My teaching is dropping like rain, coming down like dew on the fields; like rain on the young grass and showers on the garden plants:
੨ਮੇਰਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗਾ, ਮੇਰਾ ਬੋਲ ਤ੍ਰੇਲ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੂਲੇ-ਕੂਲੇ ਘਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੁਹਾਰ, ਸਾਗ ਪੱਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਝੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ।
3 For I will give honour to the name of the Lord: let our God be named great.
੩ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੋ।
4 He is the Rock, complete is his work; for all his ways are righteousness: a God without evil who keeps faith, true and upright is he.
੪ਉਹ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿੱਧ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ।
5 They have become false, they are not his children, the mark of sin is on them; they are an evil and hard-hearted generation.
੫ਉਹ ਵਿਗੜ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਕਲੰਕੀ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਟੇਢੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ।
6 Is this your answer to the Lord, O foolish people and unwise? Is he not your father who has given you life? He has made you and given you your place.
੬ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਤਹੀਣ ਪਰਜਾ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਦਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤਾ?
7 Keep in mind the days of the past, give thought to the years of generations gone by: go to your father and he will make it clear to you, to the old men and they will give you the story.
੭ਪੁਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੋ, ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ-ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੋ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛੋ, ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੇਗਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਗੇ।
8 When the Most High gave the nations their heritage, separating into groups the children of men, he had the limits of the peoples marked out, keeping in mind the number of the children of Israel.
੮ਜਦ ਅੱਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਨੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਵੰਡੀ, ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਦਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਮਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ,
9 For the Lord's wealth is his people; Jacob is the land of his heritage.
੯ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਹੈ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਹੈ।
10 He came to him in the waste land, in the unpeopled waste of sand: putting his arms round him and caring for him, he kept him as the light of his eye.
੧੦ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਨਸਾਨ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੱਭਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲਈ, ਅੱਖ ਦੀ ਕਾਕੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
11 As an eagle, teaching her young to make their flight, with her wings outstretched over them, takes them up on her strong feathers:
੧੧ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਕਾਬ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲ੍ਹਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੜ ਫੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰ ਫੈਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆ,
12 So the Lord only was his guide, no other god was with him.
੧੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
13 He put him on the high places of the earth, his food was the increase of the field; honey he gave him out of the rock and oil out of the hard rock;
੧੩ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਚਿਆਈਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਖਾਧੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ, ਅਤੇ ਚਕਮਕ ਦੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਲ ਚੁਸਾਇਆ।
14 Butter from his cows and milk from his sheep, with fat of lambs and sheep of Bashan, and goats, and the heart of the grain; and for your drink, wine from the blood of the grape.
੧੪ਚੌਣੇ ਦਾ ਮੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਧ, ਲੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਨਾਲ, ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਨਸਲ ਦੇ ਮੇਂਢੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਕਰੇ, ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ, ਤੂੰ ਅੰਗੂਰੀ ਰਸ ਦੀ ਮਧ ਪੀਤੀ।
15 But Jeshurun became fat and would not be controlled: you have become fat, you are thick and full of food: then he was untrue to the God who made him, giving no honour to the Rock of his salvation.
੧੫ਯਸ਼ੁਰੂਨ ਮੋਟਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਲੱਤੀ ਮਾਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਮੋਟਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਤਕੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਚਰਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈਂ। ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਲਕਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
16 The honour which was his they gave to strange gods; by their disgusting ways he was moved to wrath.
੧੬ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਈਰਖਾਲੂ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਦੁਆਇਆ।
17 They made offerings to evil spirits which were not God, to gods who were strange to them, which had newly come up, not feared by your fathers.
੧੭ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ, ਨਵੇਂ-ਨਵੇਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਣੇ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰੇ।
18 You have no thought for the Rock, your father, you have no memory of the God who gave you birth.
੧੮ਜਿਸ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ।
19 And the Lord saw with disgust the evil-doing of his sons and daughters.
੧੯ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਘਿਰਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ-ਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਕਸਾਇਆ।
20 And he said, My face will be veiled from them, I will see what their end will be: for they are an uncontrolled generation, children in whom is no faith.
੨੦ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਹਠੀਲੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
21 They have given my honour to that which is not God, moving me to wrath with their false worship: I will give their honour to those who are not a people, moving them to wrath by a foolish nation,
੨੧ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਸਤੂ ਤੋਂ ਈਰਖਾਲੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੁਆਇਆ, ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੌਮ ਤੋਂ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਦੁਆਵਾਂਗਾ,
22 For my wrath is a flaming fire, burning to the deep parts of the underworld, burning up the earth with her increase, and firing the deep roots of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)
੨੨ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਪਤਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਬਲਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਭਸਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। (Sheol h7585)
23 I will send a rain of troubles on them, my arrows will be showered on them.
੨੩ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
24 They will be wasted from need of food, and overcome by burning heat and bitter destruction; and the teeth of beasts I will send on them, with the poison of the worms of the dust.
੨੪ਉਹ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਲ਼ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਸਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੰਦ ਚਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਿੱਸਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਛੱਡਾਂਗਾ।
25 Outside they will be cut off by the sword, and in the inner rooms by fear; death will take the young man and the virgin, the baby at the breast and the grey-haired man.
੨੫ਬਾਹਰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਨਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਠੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਆਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੌਲਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
26 I said I would send them wandering far away, I would make all memory of them go from the minds of men:
੨੬ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ-ਦੂਰ ਤੱਕ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੱਕ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ,
27 But for the fear that their haters, uplifted in their pride, might say, Our hand is strong, the Lord has not done all this.
੨੭ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਛੇੜ-ਛਾੜ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਸੀ, ਕਿਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਲਟਾ ਸਮਝਣ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਣ, ਸਾਡਾ ਹੱਥ ਉੱਚਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
28 For they are a nation without wisdom; there is no sense in them.
੨੮ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਰਬੁੱਧ ਕੌਮ ਹੈ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ।
29 If only they were wise, if only this was clear to them, and they would give thought to their future!
੨੯ਭਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ,
30 How would it be possible for one to overcome a thousand, and two to send ten thousand in flight, if their rock had not let them go, if the Lord had not given them up?
੩੦ਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਫੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ? ਤਾਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਜਣਾ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਜਣੇ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ,
31 For their rock is not like our Rock, even our haters themselves being judges.
੩੧ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਸਾਡੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵਰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਹੀ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ।
32 For their vine is the vine of Sodom, from the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are the grapes of evil, and the berries are bitter:
੩੨ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਖ ਬੇਲ ਤਾਂ ਸਦੂਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਖ ਬੇਲ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ, ਅਤੇ ਅਮੂਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁੱਛੇ ਕੌੜੇ ਹਨ।
33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, the cruel poison of snakes.
੩੩ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਧ ਨਾਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਵਿੱਸ ਹੈ।
34 Is not this among my secrets, kept safe in my store-house?
੩੪ਕੀ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਰ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ?
35 Punishment is mine and reward, at the time of the slipping of their feet: for the day of their downfall is near, sudden will be their fate.
੩੫ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਰ ਤਿਲਕੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਛੇਤੀ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
36 For the Lord will be judge of his people, he will have pity for his servants; when he sees that their power is gone, there is no one, shut up or free.
੩੬ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦੀ ਰਿਹਾ, ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ।
37 And he will say, Where are their gods, the rock in which they put their faith?
੩੭ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਖੇਗਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹਨ? ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ?
38 Who took the fat of their offerings, and the wine of their drink offering? Let them now come to your help, let them be your salvation.
੩੮ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਧ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸਨ? ਉਹ ਉੱਠਣ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ, ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਓਟ ਹੋਣ!
39 See now, I myself am he; there is no other god but me: giver of death and life, wounding and making well: and no one has power to make you free from my hand.
੩੯ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ ਸਕੇ,
40 For lifting up my hand to heaven I say, By my unending life,
੪੦ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਸਵਰਗ ਵੱਲ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਪਕਾਲ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
41 If I make sharp my shining sword, and my hand is outstretched for judging, I will give punishment to those who are against me, and their right reward to my haters.
੪੧ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਤੇਜ ਕਰਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਵਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਘਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
42 I will make my arrows red with blood, my sword will be feasting on flesh, with the blood of the dead and the prisoners, of the long-haired heads of my haters.
੪੨ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਤਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਵੇਗੀ, ਉਹ ਲਹੂ ਵੱਢਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਾਸ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
43 Be glad, O you his people, over the nations; for he will take payment for the blood of his servants, and will give punishment to his haters, and take away the sin of his land, for his people.
੪੩ਹੇ ਕੌਮੋਂ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੈਕਾਰਾ ਗਜਾਓ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
44 So Moses said all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he and Hoshea, the son of Nun.
੪੪ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੀਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ।
45 And after saying all this to the people,
੪੫ਜਦ ਮੂਸਾ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ
46 Moses said to them, Let the words which I have said to you today go deep into your hearts, and give orders to your children to do every word of this law.
੪੬ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਓ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿਓ,
47 And this is no small thing for you, but it is your life, and through this you may make your days long in the land which you are going over Jordan to take for your heritage.
੪੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਹਲਕੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਰਦਨ ਪਾਰ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।”
48 That same day the Lord said to Moses,
੪੮ਫੇਰ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ,
49 Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo in the land of Moab opposite Jericho; there you may see the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel for their heritage:
੪੯“ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਅਬਾਰੀਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਬੋ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ, ਜੋ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ।
50 And let death come to you on the mountain where you are going, and be put to rest with your people; as death came to Aaron, your brother, on Mount Hor, where he was put to rest with his people:
੫੦ਫੇਰ ਉਸੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
51 Because of your sin against me before the children of Israel at the waters of Meribath Kadesh in the waste land of Zin; because you did not keep my name holy among the children of Israel.
੫੧ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੀਨ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ, ਕਾਦੇਸ਼ ਕੋਲ ਮਰੀਬਾਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ
52 So you will see the land before you, but you will not go into the land which I am giving to the children of Israel.
੫੨ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵੇਖੇਂਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।”
