Acts 26
1 And Agrippa said to Paul, You may put your cause before us. Then Paul, stretching out his hand, made his answer, saying:
१अग्रिप्पा पौलाला म्हणाला, “तुला तुझी बाजू मांडायला परवानगी आहे.” यावर पौलाने आपला हात उंच करून आपल्या बचावाचे भाषण सुरू केले.
2 In my opinion I am happy, King Agrippa, to be able to give my answer before you today to all these things which the Jews say against me:
२अग्रिप्पा महाराज, मी स्वतःला धन्य समजतो कारण यहूद्यांनी आपल्यासमोर माझ्याविरुद्ध केलेल्या आरोपांचा बचाव करण्याची संधी आज मिळाली.
3 The more so, because you are expert in all questions to do with the Jews and their ways: so I make my request to you to give me a hearing to the end.
३विशेषत, यहूदी चालीरीति आणि प्रश्न इत्यादी गोष्टींची आपणांला चांगल्या प्रकारे माहिती असल्याने तर हे जास्तच खरे म्हणावे लागेल, तेव्हा आपण माझे बोलणे धीराने ऐकून घ्यावे अशी मी विनंती करतो.
4 All the Jews have knowledge of my way of life from my early years, as it was from the start among my nation, and at Jerusalem;
४मी माझे जीवन तरुणपणापासून माझ्या प्रांतात व यरूशलेम शहरात कशा रीतिने जगत आलो हे सर्व यहूदी लोकांस चांगले माहीत आहे.
5 And they are able to say, if they would give witness, that I was living as a Pharisee, in that division of our religion which is most regular in the keeping of the law.
५ते मला बऱ्याच काळापासून ओळखतात आणि त्यांची इच्छा असेल तर मी एक परूशी म्हणजे आमच्या यहूदी धर्माच्या एका कट्टर गटाचा सभासद या नात्याने कसा जगत आलो याविषयी ते साक्ष देऊ शकतील.
6 And now I am here to be judged because of the hope given by God's word to our fathers;
६आता देवाने आमच्या पुर्वजांना जे वचन दिले त्याची आशा धरल्याबद्दल माझा न्याय होण्याकरता मी उभा आहे;
7 For the effecting of which our twelve tribes have been working and waiting night and day with all their hearts. And in connection with this hope I am attacked by the Jews, O king!
७ते वचन प्राप्त होण्याची आशा बाळगून आमचे बारा वंश देवाची सेवा रात्रंदिवस एकाग्रतेने करीत आहेत, महाराज, तीच आशा बाळगल्याबद्दल माझ्यावर यहूद्यांनी आरोप ठेवला आहे.
8 Why, in your opinion, is it outside belief for God to make the dead come to life again?
८देव मरण पावलेल्यांना परत उठवितो, असे तुमच्यापैकी कित्येकांना विश्वास ठेवण्यास अयोग्य का वाटावे.
9 For I, truly, was of the opinion that it was right for me to do a number of things against the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
९नासरेथच्या येशूच्या नावाविरुद्ध जे जे काही करता येईल ते ते मी करावे असे मलादेखील वाटत होते.
10 And this I did in Jerusalem: and numbers of the saints I put in prison, having had authority given to me from the chief priests, and when they were put to death, I gave my decision against them.
१०आणि नक्की हेच मी यरूशलेम शहरात केले, कारण मुख्य याजकांकडून मला तसा अधिकार मिळाला होता, म्हणून मी देवाच्या अनेक संतांना तुरुंगात टाकले आणि हे जे संतगण जिवे मारले गेले, त्यांच्याविरुद्ध मी माझे मत नोंदविले.
11 And I gave them punishment frequently, in all the Synagogues, forcing them to say things against God; and burning with passion against them, I went after them even into far-away towns.
११अनेक सभास्थानात मी त्यांना शिक्षा केली आणि देवाविरुद्ध जबरीने वाईट भाषण करायला लावण्याचा मी प्रयत्न केला, या लोकांवरील माझा राग इतक्या पराकोटीला गेला होता की, मी त्यांचा छळ करण्याकरता इतर शहरांमध्ये देखील जात असे.
12 Then, when I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and orders of the chief priests,
१२एकदा दिमिष्क शहराला जाण्यासाठी मुख्य याजकांनी मला अधिकार व परवानगी दिली तेव्हा महाराज.
13 In the middle of the day, on the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining round me and those who were journeying with me.
१३वाटेत भर दुपारच्या वेळी मी माझ्या व माझ्यासमवेत असणाऱ्यांच्या भोवती स्वर्गीय प्रकाश फाकलेला पाहिला, तो प्रकाश सूर्यापेक्षाही जास्त प्रखर होता.
14 And when we had all gone down on the earth, a voice came to me, saying in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why are you attacking me so cruelly? It is hard for you to go against the impulse which is driving you.
१४आम्ही सर्व खाली जमिनीवर पडलो आणि इब्री भाषेत माझ्याशी बोलताना एक वाणी मी ऐकली, ती वाणी म्हणाली, “शौला, शौला, माझा छळ तू का करतोस? अणकुचीदार काठीवर लाथ मारणे तुला हानिकारक आहे.”
15 And I said, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus, whom you are attacking.
१५आणि मी म्हणालो, ‘प्रभू, तू कोण आहेस?’ प्रभूने उत्तर दिले, “मी येशू आहे, ज्याचा तू छळ करीत आहेस.
16 But get up on your feet: for I have come to you for this purpose, to make you a servant and a witness of the things in which you have seen me, and of those in which you will see me;
१६आता ऊठ आणि उभा राहा! या कारणांसाठी मी तुला दर्शन दिले आहे तुला सेवक म्हणून नेमावे व जे काही तुला दाखविले व जे दाखवीन त्याचा साक्षीदार म्हणून तुला नेमावे.
17 And I will keep you safe from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you,
१७या लोकांपासून व परराष्ट्रीयांपासून मी तुझे रक्षण करीन.
18 To make their eyes open, turning them from the dark to the light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may have forgiveness of sins and a heritage among those who are made holy by faith in me.
१८मी तुला त्यांच्याकडे पाठवतो, ह्यासाठी की, त्यांनी अंधारांतून निघून उजेडाकडे व सैतानाच्या अधिकारातून देवाकडे वळावे, म्हणून तू त्यांचे डोळे उघडावे आणि त्यांना पापाची क्षमा व्हावी व माझ्यावरील विश्वासाने पवित्र झालेल्या लोकांमध्ये वतन मिळावे.”
19 So, then, King Agrippa, I did not go against the vision from heaven;
१९यासाठी, अग्रिप्पा महाराज मला जो स्वर्गीय दृष्टांत झाला, त्याचा मी आज्ञाभंग केला नाही.
20 But I went about, first to those in Damascus and Jerusalem, and through all the country of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, preaching a change of heart, so that they, being turned to God, might give, in their works, the fruits of a changed heart.
२०उलट पहिल्यांदा दिमिष्कातील आणि नंतर यरूशलेम शहरातील, यहूदीया प्रांतातील सर्व आणि परराष्ट्रीय लोकांससुद्धा प्रभूच्या वचनाची साक्ष दिली, त्यांनी पश्चात्ताप करावा, देवाकडे वळावे आणि पश्चात्तापाला साजेल अशी कामे करावी असे मी त्यांना सांगितले.
21 For this reason, the Jews took me in the Temple, and made an attempt to put me to death.
२१या कारणांमुळे मी परमेश्वराच्या भवनात असताना काही यहूदी लोकांनी मला धरले आणि जिवे मारण्याचा प्रयत्न केला.
22 And so, by God's help, I am here today, witnessing to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come about;
२२परंतु देवाने मला मदत केली म्हणून मी आज येथे उभा राहून समाजातील लहानथोरांना साक्ष देत आहे, जे काही पुढे होणार होते, त्याविषयी संदेष्ट्यांनी व मोशेने जे सांगितले त्यापेक्षा दुसरे मी सांगत नाही.
23 That the Christ would go through pain, and being the first to come back from the dead, would give light to the people and to the Gentiles.
२३त्यानुसार देवाचा अभिषिक्त जो ख्रिस्त तो दुःखसहन करील आणि मरण पावलेल्यातून उठविला जाणाऱ्यांत तो पाहिला असेल, यहूदी लोकांस तसेच परराष्ट्रीयांनाही देव प्रकाशाची घोषणा करील.
24 And when he made his answer in these words, Festus said in a loud voice, Paul, you are off your head; your great learning has made you unbalanced.
२४पौल आपल्या बचावासंबंधी बोलत असताना फेस्त त्यास मोठ्याने म्हणाला, “पौला, तू वेडा आहेस, जास्त ज्ञानामुळे तुला वेड लागले आहे.”
25 Then Paul said, I am not off my head, most noble Festus, but my words are true and wise.
२५पौलाने उत्तर दिले, “फेस्त महाराज, मी वेडा नाही; तर ज्या गोष्टी खऱ्या आहेत आणि अगदी योग्य आहेत, त्यांच्याविषयीच मी बोलत आहे.
26 For the king has knowledge of these things, to whom I am talking freely; being certain that all this is common knowledge to him; for it has not been done in secret.
२६येथे हजर असलेल्या महाराजांना याविषयी चांगली माहिती आहे आणि यामुळे मी त्यांच्याशी उघडपणाने बोलू शकतो, त्याच्या ध्यानातून काही सुटले नसेल, असे मला खात्रीने वाटते, मी हे म्हणतो, कारण ही गोष्ट एखाद्या कानाकोपऱ्यात झाली नाही.
27 King Agrippa, have you faith in the prophets? I am certain that you have.
२७अग्रिप्पा महाराज, संदेष्ट्यानी जे लिहिले त्यावर तुमचा विश्वास आहे काय? तुमचा त्यावर विश्वास आहे.” हे मला नक्की माहीत आहे.
28 And Agrippa said to Paul, A little more and you will be making me a Christian.
२८यावर अग्रिप्पा म्हणाला, “एवढ्या थोड्या वेळात ख्रिस्ती होण्यासाठी तू माझे मन वळवू शकशील असे तुला वाटते काय?”
29 And Paul said, It is my prayer to God that, in little or great measure, not only you, but all those hearing me today might be even as I am, but for these chains.
२९पौलाने उत्तर दिले, “थोड्या वेळात म्हणा अगर जास्त वेळात म्हणा, मी जसा आहे तसे केवळ तुम्हीच नव्हे तर आज जे जे येथे बसून माझे बोलणे ऐकत आहेत त्या सर्वांनी माझ्यासारखे या साखळदंडाखेरीज, विश्वास ठेवणारे व्हावे, अशी माझी देवाला नम्र विनंती आहे.”
30 And the king and the ruler and Bernice and those who were seated with them got up;
३०यानंतर राजा, बर्णीका, राज्यपाल आणि त्यांच्याबरोबर इतर जे तेथे बसले होते, ते सर्व उठले.
31 And when they had gone away they said to one another, This man has done nothing which might give cause for death or prison.
३१ते न्यायालयातून बाहेर पडल्यावर एकमेकांशी बोलत होते, ते म्हणाले, “ज्यामुळे तुरुंगवास किंवा मरणदंड द्यावा असे काहीही या मनुष्याने केले नाही.”
32 And Agrippa said to Festus, This man might have been made free, if he had not put his cause before Caesar.
३२अग्रिप्पा फेस्ताला म्हणाला, “या मनुष्याने कैसराकडे न्याय मागितला नसता, तर त्यास सोडून देता आले असते.”
