2 Samuel 14
1 Now it was clear to Joab, the son of Zeruiah, that the king's heart was turning to Absalom.
தாவீது அரசனின் இருதயம் அப்சலோமுக்காக ஏங்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது என்பதை செருயாவின் மகன் யோவாப் அறிந்துகொண்டான்.
2 And Joab sent to Tekoa and got from there a wise woman, and said to her, Now make yourself seem like one given up to grief, and put on the clothing of sorrow, not using any sweet oil for your body, but looking like one who for a long time has been weeping for the dead:
எனவே யோவாப் தெக்கோவாவுக்கு ஆளனுப்பி அங்கேயுள்ள ஞானமுள்ள ஒரு பெண்ணை அழைத்தான். அவள் வந்தபோது யோவாப் அவளிடம், “நீ துக்கங்கொண்டாடும் பெண்ணைப்போல் பாசாங்கு செய்து துக்கவுடை உடுத்திக்கொள். தலைக்கு எண்ணெய் ஒன்றும் பூசாதே. இறந்துபோனவர்களுக்காக நெடுநாட்களாக துக்கங்கொண்டாடுகிறவளைப் போல நடிக்கவேண்டும்.
3 And come to the king and say these words to him. So Joab gave her words to say.
பின் அரசனிடம் போய் இவ்விதமாய் நீ பேசவேண்டும்” என்றான். அவ்வாறே யோவாப் அவள் பேசவேண்டியதை அவளுக்குச் சொல்லிக் கொடுத்தான்.
4 And the woman of Tekoa came to the king, and falling on her face, gave him honour and said, Give me help, O king.
அதன்படி தெக்கோவா ஊராளான அப்பெண் அரசனிடம் சென்று, தரையில் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து வணங்கி, “அரசே, எனக்கு உதவும்” என்றாள்.
5 And the king said to her, What is your trouble? And her answer was, Truly I am a widow, and my husband is dead.
அப்பொழுது அரசன் அவளிடம், “உனக்கு என்ன துன்பம் நேரிட்டது?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவள், “எனது கணவர் இறந்துவிட்டார். நான் ஒரு விதவை.
6 And I had two sons, and the two of them had a fight in the field, and there was no one to come between them, and one with a blow put the other to death.
உம்முடைய அடியாளாகிய எனக்கு இரண்டு மகன்கள் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இருவரும் வயல்வெளியில் சண்டையிட்டார்கள். அவர்களை விலக்கிவிட ஒருவரும் இல்லாதபடியால், ஒருவன் மற்றவனை அடித்துக் கொன்றுவிட்டான்.
7 And now all the family is turned against me, your servant, saying, Give up him who was the cause of his brother's death, so that we may put him to death in payment for the life of his brother, whose life he took; and we will put an end to the one who will get the heritage: so they will put out my last burning coal, and my husband will have no name or offspring on the face of the earth.
இப்பொழுது எங்கள் வம்சம் எல்லாம் உமது அடியாளுக்கு எதிராக எழும்பி, ‘தன் சகோதரனைக் கொன்றவனை எங்களிடம் கொண்டுவா. அவன் கொலைசெய்த அவனுடைய சகோதரனின் உயிருக்காக அவனைக் கொலைசெய்யவேண்டும். சொத்துக்கு உரிமையாளனையும் அழிப்போம்’ என்கிறார்கள். இவ்வாறாக எனக்கு மிஞ்சியிருக்கும் அந்த ஒரே விளக்கை அணைத்து, என் கணவருக்கு பூமியின்மேல் பெயரும் சந்ததியும் இல்லாதபடி செய்வார்கள்” என்றாள்.
8 And the king said to the woman, Go to your house and I will give orders about this.
அப்பொழுது அரசன் அவளிடம், “நீ வீட்டிற்கு போ; நான் உன் சார்பில் ஒரு கட்டளை அனுப்புவேன்” என்றான்.
9 And the woman of Tekoa said to the king, My lord, O king, may the sin be on me and on my family, and may the king and the seat of his kingdom be clear of sin!
ஆனாலும் அந்த தெக்கோவா பெண் அரசனிடம், “என் தலைவனாகிய அரசே, இந்த குற்றம் என்மேலும் என் தகப்பன் குடும்பத்தின்மேலும் சுமருவதாக; அரசனும், அவரது சிங்காசனமும் குற்றமின்றி இருக்கட்டும்” என்றாள்.
10 And the king said, If anyone says anything to you, make him come to me, and he will do you no more damage.
அதற்கு அரசன், “உனக்கு யாராவது ஏதாவது சொன்னால் என்னிடம் கொண்டுவா; அவன் உன்னை மறுபடியும் தொந்தரவு செய்யமாட்டான்” என்றான்.
11 Then she said, Let the king keep in mind the Lord your God, so that he who gives punishment for blood may be kept back from further destruction and that no one may send death on my son. And he said, By the living Lord, not a hair of your son's head will come to the earth.
தொடர்ந்து அவள், “இரத்தப்பழிவாங்குகிறவன் அழிவுடன் அழிவைக் கூட்டாமல் தடுக்கும்படி, அரசர் தம் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவை வேண்டிக்கொள்வாராக. அப்பொழுது என் மகன் சாகமாட்டான்” என்றாள். அதற்கு தாவீது அரசன் அவளிடம், “யெகோவா இருப்பது நிச்சயமெனில் உன் மகனின் தலைமயிரில் ஒன்றாவது தரையில் விழாது என்பதும் நிச்சயம்” என்றான்.
12 Then the woman said, Will the king let his servant say one word more? And he said, Say on.
பின்பும் அவள், “என் தலைவனாகிய அரசரிடம் உமது அடியவள் இன்னும் ஒன்றைக் கேட்கலாமா?” என்றாள். அதற்கு அரசன், “சரி கேள்” என்றான்.
13 And the woman said, Why have you had such a thought about the people of God? (for in saying these very words the king has put himself in the wrong because he has not taken back the one whom he sent far away.)
எனவே அந்த பெண், “அப்படியானால் ஏன் இறைவனின் மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக இப்படியொரு செயலைத் திட்டமிடுகிறீர். அரசன் இப்படிச் சொல்லும்போது நாடுகடத்தப்பட்ட தன் மகனைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டுவராததினால் தன்னைத்தானே குற்றவாளியாக்குகிறார் அல்லவா?
14 For death comes to us all, and we are like water drained out on the earth, which it is not possible to take up again; and God will not take away the life of the man whose purpose is that he who has been sent away may not be completely cut off from him.
நிலத்தில் சிந்திய தண்ணீரைத் திருப்பி எடுக்க முடியாததுபோல, நாங்கள் எல்லோரும் சாகவேண்டும். ஆனால் இறைவன் உயிர்களை அப்படி எடுக்கிறவர் அல்ல. அதற்குப் பதிலாகத் தன்னை விட்டுத் தூரமாய் போனவர்களைத் திரும்பவும் தன்னிடம் கொண்டுவர அவர் வழிகளை வகுக்கிறார்.
15 And now it is my fear of the people which has made me come to say these words to my lord the king: and your servant said, I will put my cause before the king, and it may be that he will give effect to my request.
“மனிதர் என்னைப் பயமுறுத்தியதினால் தான், என் தலைவனாகிய அரசனிடம் இதைச் சொல்வதற்கு வந்தேன். ‘நான் அரசனிடம் பேசினால் ஒருவேளை அவர் நான் கேட்டதைக் கொடுப்பார் என்று நான் நினைத்தேன்.
16 For the king will give ear, and take his servant out of the power of the man whose purpose is the destruction of me and my son together from the heritage of God.
இறைவன் எங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த உரிமைச்சொத்திலிருந்து என்னையும், என் மகனையும் அகற்றிவிட முயலும் மனிதனின் கையிலிருந்து ஒருவேளை அரசன் விடுவிக்க உடன்படுவார் என்றும் நினைத்தேன்.’
17 Then your servant said, May the word of my lord the king give me peace! for my lord the king is as the angel of God in his hearing of good and bad: and may the Lord your God be with you!
“‘நன்மையையும் தீமையையும் பிரித்தறிவதில் இப்பொழுதும் என் தலைவனாகிய அரசன் இறைவனின் தூதனைப்போல் இருக்கிறீர்; அதனால் என் தலைவனாகிய அரசன் சொன்னவை உமது அடியாளாகிய எனக்கு மன ஆறுதலைக் கொடுக்கட்டும். உமது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உம்மோடுகூட இருப்பாராக’” என்றாள்.
18 Then the king said to the woman, Now give me an answer to the question I am going to put to you; keep nothing back. And the woman said, Let my lord the king say on.
அப்பொழுது அரசன் அப்பெண்ணிடம், “நான் உன்னிடம் கேட்கப்போவதற்கு நீ எனக்கு ஒன்றும் மறைக்காமல் பதில் சொல்லவேண்டும்” என்றான். அதற்கு அப்பெண், “என் தலைவனாகிய அரசே கேளும்” என்றாள்.
19 And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with you in all this? And the woman in answer said, By the life of your soul, my lord the king, it is not possible for anyone to go to the right hand or to the left from anything said by the king: your servant Joab gave me orders, and put all these words in my mouth:
அப்பொழுது அரசன் அவளிடம், “இதையெல்லாம் செய்வித்தது யோவாப் அல்லவா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அப்பெண், “என் தலைவனாகிய அரசன் வாழ்வது நிச்சயம்போல, என் தலைவனாகிய அரசன் சொன்னவற்றிலிருந்து வலதுபுறமோ, இடதுபுறமோ திரும்ப முடியாதென்பதும் நிச்சயம். உமது பணியாள் யோவாபே இப்படிச் செய்யும்படி எனக்கு அறிவுறுத்தினான். நான் சொன்னவற்றையெல்லாம் அவனே உமது அடியாளுக்குச் சொல்லிக் கொடுத்தான்.
20 This he did, hoping that the face of this business might be changed: and my lord is wise, with the wisdom of the angel of God, having knowledge of everything on earth.
உமது நிலைமையை மாற்றுவதற்காகவே உமது பணியாள் யோவாப் இவ்வாறு செய்தான். என் தலைவர் இறைவனின் தூதனைப்போல் ஞானமுடையவர். ஆகையால் நாட்டில் நடப்பவற்றையெல்லாம் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்” என்றாள்.
21 And the king said to Joab, See now, I will do this thing: go then and Come back with the young man Absalom.
அப்பொழுது அரசன் யோவாபை அழைத்து, “நான் அதைச் செய்வேன். நீ போய் வாலிபனான அப்சலோமை அழைத்து வா” என்றான்.
22 Then Joab, falling down on his face on the earth, gave the king honour and blessing; and Joab said, Today it is clear to your servant that I have grace in your eyes, my lord king, because the king has given effect to the request of his servant.
உடனே யோவாப் அரசனுக்கு முன் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, அவனைக் கனப்படுத்தும்படி அவனை வணங்கி வாழ்த்தினான். “என் தலைவனாகிய அரசே, உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயவு கிடைத்திருக்கிறது என இன்று உமது அடியவன் அறிந்தேன். ஏனெனில் தன் அடியவனுடைய வேண்டுகோளை அரசன் நிறைவேற்றினார்” என்றான்.
23 So Joab got up and went to Geshur and came back again to Jerusalem with Absalom.
பின்பு யோவாப் கேசூருக்குப்போய் அப்சலோமை எருசலேமுக்கு அழைத்து வந்தான்.
24 And the king said, Let him go to his house, but let him not see my face. So Absalom went back to his house and did not see the face of the king.
ஆனாலும் அரசன், “அப்சலோம் தன் சொந்த வீட்டிற்குப் போகட்டும்; அவன் என் முகத்தைப் பார்க்கக்கூடாது” என்றான். எனவே அப்சலோம் அரசனின் முகத்தைப் பார்க்காமலே தன் சொந்த வீட்டிற்குப் போனான்.
25 Now in all Israel there was no one so greatly to be praised for his beautiful form as Absalom: from his feet to the crown of his head he was completely beautiful.
இஸ்ரயேல் முழுவதிலும் அப்சலோமைப்போல் அழகான தோற்றமுடையவனென புகழப்படத்தக்க ஒருவனும் இருக்கவில்லை. அவனுடைய உச்சி முதல் உள்ளங்கால் வரை ஒரு குறையும் இருக்கவில்லை.
26 And when he had his hair cut, (which he did at the end of every year, because of the weight of his hair; ) the weight of the hair was two hundred shekels by the king's weight.
அவனுடைய தலைமயிர் அவனுடைய தலைக்குப் பாரமாக இருப்பதால், வருடத்திற்கு ஒருமுறை அதை வெட்டுவது வழக்கம். அதை வெட்டும்போதெல்லாம் தலைமயிரை அவன் நிறுப்பான். அது அரச நிறையின்படி இருநூறு சேக்கல் எடையுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்.
27 And Absalom was the father of three sons and of one daughter named Tamar, who was very beautiful.
அப்சலோமுக்கு மூன்று மகன்களும், ஒரு மகளும் இருந்தார்கள். மகளின் பெயர் தாமார், அவள் அழகிய பெண்ணாயிருந்தாள்.
28 For two full years Absalom was living in Jerusalem without ever seeing the face of the king.
அப்சலோம் தாவீது அரசனின் முகத்தைப் பார்க்காமல் இரண்டு வருடங்கள் எருசலேமில் இருந்தான்.
29 Then Absalom sent for Joab to send him to the king, but he would not come to him: and he sent again a second time, but he would not come.
பின்பு அப்சலோம் அரசனுக்கு செய்தி அனுப்புவதற்காக யோவாபை அழைத்துவர ஆளனுப்பினான். ஆனால் யோவாப் வர மறுத்துவிட்டான்; இரண்டாம்முறை ஆளனுப்பிய போதும் அவன் வர மறுத்தான்.
30 So he said to his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he has barley in it; go and put it on fire. And Absalom's servants put the field on fire.
அதனால் அவன் தன் பணியாட்களிடம், “யோவாபின் வயல் என் வயலுக்குப் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிறது; அதில் வாற்கோதுமை விளைந்திருக்கிறது. நீங்கள் போய் அதற்கு நெருப்பு வையுங்கள்” என்றான். அவ்வாறே அப்சலோமின் பணியாட்கள் வயலுக்கு நெருப்பு வைத்தார்கள்.
31 Then Joab came to Absalom in his house and said to him, Why have your servants put my field on fire?
அப்பொழுது அப்சலோமின் வீட்டிற்கு யோவாப் போய் அவனிடம், “உன் பணியாட்கள் என் வயலுக்கு ஏன் நெருப்பு வைத்தார்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான்.
32 And Absalom's answer was, See, I sent to you saying, Come here, so that I may send you to the king to say, Why have I come back from Geshur? it would be better for me to be there still: let me now see the king's face, and if there is any sin in me, let him put me to death.
அதற்கு அப்சலோம் யோவாபிடம், “இதோ பார், ‘நான் ஏன் கேசூரிலிருந்து அழைத்துவரப்பட்டேன்? இன்னும் நான் அங்கே இருந்திருந்தால் நலமாயிருந்திருக்கும்’ என உன் மூலம் அரசனுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பும்படி உன்னை இங்கே வரும்படி ஆளனுப்பினேன். இப்பொழுது நான் அரசனின் முகத்தைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும். என்மேல் ஏதாவது குற்றமிருந்தால் அவர் என்னைக் கொலைசெய்யட்டும்” என்றான்.
33 So Joab went to the king and said these words to him: and when the king had sent for him, Absalom came, and went down on his face on the earth before the king: and the king gave him a kiss.
எனவே யோவாப் அப்சலோம் சொன்ன யாவற்றையும் அரசனிடம் போய் சொன்னான். அதைக்கேட்ட அரசன் அப்சலோமை அழைத்துவரச் செய்தான். அப்சலோம் அரசனின் முன்பாக முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து வணங்கினான். அரசன் அப்சலோமை முத்தமிட்டான்.
