2 Kings 2
1 Now when the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a great wind, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
௧யெகோவா எலியாவை சுழல்காற்றிலே பரலோகத்திற்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறபோது, எலியா எலிசாவோடேகூடக் கில்காலிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.
2 And Elijah said to Elisha, Come no farther for the Lord has sent me to Beth-el. But Elisha said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted from you. So they went down to Beth-el.
௨எலியா எலிசாவை நோக்கி: நீ இங்கே இரு; யெகோவா என்னைப் பெத்தேல்வரை போக அனுப்புகிறார் என்றான். அதற்கு எலிசா: நான் உம்மை விடுவதில்லை என்று யெகோவாவின் ஜீவனையும் உம்முடைய ஜீவனையும் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்; அப்படியே இருவரும் பெத்தேலுக்குப் போனார்கள்.
3 And at Beth-el the sons of the prophets came out to Elisha and said, Has it been made clear to you that the Lord is going to take away your master from over you today? And he said, Yes, I have knowledge of it: say no more.
௩அப்பொழுது பெத்தேலிலிருந்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் கூட்டத்தார் எலிசாவிடம் வந்து: இன்றைக்குக் யெகோவா உனக்குத் தலைமையாயிருக்கிற உன் எஜமானை உன்னைவிட்டு எடுத்துக்கொள்வார் என்பது உனக்குத் தெரியுமா என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: எனக்குத் தெரியும், சும்மா இருங்கள் என்றான்.
4 Then Elijah said to him, Come no farther, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. But he said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted from you. So they went on to Jericho.
௪பின்பு எலியா அவனை நோக்கி: எலிசாவே, நீ இங்கே இரு; யெகோவா என்னை எரிகோவரை போக அனுப்புகிறார் என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உம்மை விடுவதில்லை என்று யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனையும் உம்முடைய ஜீவனையும் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்; அப்படியே அவர்கள் எரிகோவுக்கு வந்தார்கள்.
5 And at Jericho the sons of the prophets came up to Elisha and said to him, Has it been made clear to you that the Lord is going to take away your master from over you today? And he said in answer, Yes, I have knowledge of it: say no more.
௫எரிகோவிலிருந்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்திரர்கள் எலிசாவிடம் வந்து: இன்றைக்குக் யெகோவா உனக்குத் தலைமையாயிருக்கிற உன் எஜமானை உன்னைவிட்டு எடுத்துக்கொள்வார் என்பது உனக்குத் தெரியுமா என்று அவனைக் கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: எனக்குத் தெரியும், சும்மா இருங்கள் என்றான்.
6 Then Elijah said to him, Come no farther, for the Lord has sent me to Jordan. But he said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted from you. So they went on together.
௬பின்பு எலியா அவனை நோக்கி: நீ இங்கே இரு; யெகோவா என்னை யோர்தானுக்கு அனுப்புகிறார் என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உம்மை விடுவதில்லை என்று யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனையும் உம்முடைய ஜீவனையும் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்; அப்படியே இருவரும் போனார்கள்.
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went out and took their places facing them a long way off, while the two of them were by the edge of Jordan.
௭தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் கூட்டத்தாரில் ஐம்பதுபேர் தூரத்திலே நின்று பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் யோர்தான் கரையிலே நின்றார்கள்.
8 Then Elijah took off his robe, and, rolling it up, gave the water a blow with it, and the waters were parted, flowing back this way and that, so that they went over on dry land.
௮அப்பொழுது எலியா, தன் சால்வையை எடுத்து முறுக்கித் தண்ணீரை அடித்தான்; அது இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்தது; அவர்கள் இருவரும் உலர்ந்த தரைவழியாக மறுகரைக்குப் போனார்கள்.
9 And when they had come to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, Say what you would have me do for you before I am taken from you. And Elisha said, Be pleased to let a special measure of your spirit be on me.
௯அவர்கள் மறுகரைக்குப் போனபின்பு, எலியா எலிசாவை நோக்கி: நான் உன்னைவிட்டு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படுவதற்கு முன்னே நான் உனக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியது என்ன, கேள் என்றான். அதற்கு எலிசா: உம்மிடத்திலுள்ள ஆவியின்வரம் எனக்கு இரண்டு மடங்காகக் கிடைக்க வேண்டுகிறேன் என்றான்.
10 And he said, You have made a hard request: still, if you see me when I am taken from you, you will get your desire; but if not, it will not be so.
௧0அதற்கு அவன்: அரிதான காரியத்தைக் கேட்டாய்; உன்னைவிட்டு நான் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும்போது என்னை நீ பார்த்தால் உனக்குக் கிடைக்கும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் கிடைக்காது என்றான்.
11 And while they went on their way, going on talking together, suddenly there were carriages and horses of fire separating them from one another and Elijah went up to heaven in a great wind.
௧௧அவர்கள் பேசிக்கொண்டு நடந்துபோகும்போது, இதோ, அக்கினிரதமும் அக்கினிக்குதிரைகளும் அவர்களுக்கு நடுவாக வந்து இருவரையும் பிரித்தது; எலியா சுழல்காற்றிலே பரலோகத்திற்கு ஏறிப்போனான்.
12 And when Elisha saw it he gave a cry, My father, my father, the carriages of Israel and its horsemen! And he saw him no longer; and he was full of grief.
௧௨அதை எலிசா கண்டு: என் தகப்பனே, என் தகப்பனே, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு இரதமும் குதிரைவீரருமாக இருந்தவரே என்று புலம்பினான்; அவனை அதற்குப் பிறகு காணாமல், தன் உடையைப் பிடித்து இரண்டு துண்டாகக் கிழித்தான்.
13 Then he took up Elijah's robe, which had been dropped from him, and went back till he came to the edge of Jordan.
௧௩பின்பு அவன் எலியாவின்மேலிருந்து கீழே விழுந்த சால்வையை எடுத்துத் திரும்பிப்போய், யோர்தானின் கரையிலே நின்று,
14 And he took Elijah's robe, which had been dropped from him, and giving the water a blow with it, said, Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah? and at his blow the waters were parted this way and that; and Elisha went over.
௧௪எலியாவின்மேலிருந்து கீழே விழுந்த சால்வையைப் பிடித்து: எலியாவின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா எங்கே என்று சொல்லித் தண்ணீரை அடித்தான்; தண்ணீரை அடித்தவுடனே அது இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்ததால் எலிசா இக்கரைக்கு வந்தான்.
15 And when the sons of the prophets who were facing him at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha. And they came out to him, and went down on the earth before him.
௧௫எரிகோவில் பார்த்துக்கொண்டு நின்ற தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் கூட்டத்தார் அவனைக் கண்டவுடனே, எலியாவின் ஆவி எலிசாவின்மேல் இறங்கியிருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய்த் தரைமட்டும் குனிந்து அவனை வணங்கி:
16 And they said, Your servants have with us here fifty strong men; be pleased to let them go in search of Elijah; for it may be that the spirit of the Lord has taken him up and put him down on some mountain or in some valley. But he said, Do not send them.
௧௬இதோ, உமது அடியாரோடு ஐம்பது பலவான்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் போய் உம்முடைய எஜமானைத் தேடும்படி உத்திரவு கொடும்; ஒருவேளை யெகோவாவுடைய ஆவியானவர் அவரை எடுத்து, மலைகளில் ஒன்றின் மேலாகிலும் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் ஒன்றிலாகிலும் கொண்டுபோய் வைத்திருப்பார் என்றார்கள். அதற்கு எலிசா: அவர்களை அனுப்பவேண்டாம் என்றான்.
17 But when they kept on requesting him, he was shamed and said, Send, then. So they sent fifty men; but after searching for three days, they came back without having seen him.
௧௭அவன் சோர்ந்துபோகும்வரை அவர்கள் அவனைத் தொந்தரவு செய்துகொண்டிருந்ததால், அனுப்புங்கள் என்றான்; அப்படியே ஐம்பதுபேரை அனுப்பினார்கள்; அவர்கள் மூன்று நாட்கள் அவனைத் தேடியும் காணாமல்,
18 And they came back to him, while he was still at Jericho; and he said to them, Did I not say to you, Go not?
௧௮எரிகோவிலிருந்த அவனிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவந்தபோது, அவன் இவர்களைப் பார்த்து: போகவேண்டாம் என்று நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றான்.
19 Now the men of the town said to Elisha, You see that the position of this town is good; but the water is bad, causing the young of the cattle to come to birth dead.
௧௯பின்பு அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின் மனிதர்கள் எலிசாவை நோக்கி: இதோ, எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் காண்கிறபடி இந்தப் பட்டணம் குடியிருப்பதற்கு நல்லது; தண்ணீரோ கெட்டது, நிலமும் பாழ்நிலம் என்றார்கள்.
20 So he said, Get me a new vessel, and put salt in it; and they took it to him.
௨0அப்பொழுது அவன்: ஒரு புதிய பாத்திரத்தை எடுத்து, அதிலே உப்புப் போட்டுக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்; அதை அவனிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தபோது,
21 Then he went out to the spring from which the water came, and put salt in it, and said, The Lord says, Now I have made this water sweet; no longer will it be death-giving or unfertile.
௨௧அவன் நீரூற்றிற்குப் போய், உப்பை அதிலே போட்டு: இந்தத் தண்ணீரை சுத்திகரித்தேன்; இனி இதனால் சாவும் வராது, பாழ்நிலமாகவும் இருக்காது என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.
22 And the water was made sweet again to this day, as Elisha said.
௨௨எலிசா சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே அந்தத் தண்ணீர் இந்தநாள் வரைக்கும் இருக்கிறபடி ஆரோக்கியமானது.
23 Then from there he went up to Beth-el; and on his way, some little boys came out from the town and made sport of him, crying, Go up, old no-hair! go up, old no-hair!
௨௩அவன் அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டுப் பெத்தேலுக்குப் போனான்; அவன் வழியிலே நடந்துபோகும்போது வாலிபர்கள் பட்டணத்திலிருந்து வந்து, அவனைப் பார்த்து: மொட்டைத்தலையா ஏறிப்போ என்று சொல்லி கேலி செய்தார்கள்.
24 And turning back, he saw them, and put a curse on them in the name of the Lord. And two she-bears came out of the wood and put forty-two of the children to death.
௨௪அப்பொழுது அவன் திரும்பி அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: யெகோவாவின் நாமத்திலே அவர்களைச் சபித்தான்; உடனே காட்டிலிருந்து இரண்டு கரடிகள் வந்து, அவர்களில் நாற்பத்திரண்டு வாலிபர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டது.
25 From there he went to Mount Carmel, and came back from there to Samaria.
௨௫அவன் அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டுக் கர்மேல் மலைக்குப்போய், அங்கேயிருந்து சமாரியாவுக்குத் திரும்பினான்.
