2 Kings 15
1 In the twenty-seventh year of the rule of Jeroboam, king of Israel, Azariah, son of Amaziah, became king of Judah.
La vingt-septième année du règne de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël, Azaria, fils d’Amacia, devint roi de Juda.
2 He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for fifty-two years; his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
Agé de seize ans à son avènement, il régna cinquante-deux ans à Jérusalem; le nom de sa mère était Yekhalyahou, de Jérusalem.
3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father Amaziah had done.
Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Eternel, suivant en tout l’exemple de son père Amacia.
4 But he did not take away the high places, and the people still went on making offerings and burning them in the high places.
Toutefois, les hauts-lieux ne disparurent point: le peuple continua d’y offrir des sacrifices et de l’encens.
5 And the Lord sent disease on the king and he became a leper, and to the day of his death he was living separately in his private house. And Jotham his son was over his house, judging the people of the land.
Le Seigneur frappa le roi de maladie: il resta atteint de lèpre jusqu’au jour de sa mort et demeura dans une maison d’isolement. Jotham, fils du roi, préposé au palais, gouvernait les gens du pays.
6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah?
Le reste de l’histoire d’Azaria et tous ses actes sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois de Juda.
7 And Azariah went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth with his fathers in the town of David; and Jotham his son became king in his place.
Azaria s’endormit avec ses aïeux; on l’enterra à côté d’eux dans la Cité de David, et son fils Jotham lui succéda.
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azaliah, king of Judah, Zechariah, son of Jeroboam, was king over Israel for six months.
La trente-huitième année du règne d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, devint roi d’Israël à Samarie; il régna six mois.
9 And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his father had done, not turning away from the sin which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel do.
Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Eternel tout comme ses pères; il ne renonça point aux prévarications de Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, qui avait poussé Israël au péché.
10 And Shallum, the son of Jabesh, made a secret design against him, and, attacking him in Ibleam, put him to death and became king in his place.
Challoum, fils de Yabêch, complota contre lui, le frappa en présence du peuple et le mit à mort; puis il prit la royauté à sa place.
11 Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah are recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel.
Les autres détails de l’histoire de Zacharie sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois d’Israël.
12 This was what the Lord had said to Jehu, Your sons to the fourth generation will be kings of Israel. And so it came about.
Ainsi s’accomplit la parole du Seigneur adressée à Jéhu: "Tes descendants, jusqu’à la quatrième génération, s’asseoiront sur le trône d’Israël;" ce qui arriva en effet.
13 Shallum, the son of Jabesh, became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah, king of Judah; and he was ruling in Samaria for the space of one month.
Challoum, fils de Yabéch, devint roi la trente-neuvième année du règne d’Ouzia, roi de Juda; il régna un mois à Sa-marie.
14 Then Menahem, the son of Gadi, went up from Tirzah and came to Samaria, and attacking Shallum, son of Jabesh, in Samaria, put him to death and made himself king in his place.
Menahem, fils de Gadi, monta de Tirça et se rendit à Samarie; là, il frappa Challoum, fils de Yabéch, le fit mourir et prit la royauté à sa place.
15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and the secret design which he made, are recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel.
Le reste de l’histoire de Chailoum et le complot qu’il avait organisé sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois d’Israël.
16 Then Menahem sent destruction on Tappuah and all the people in it, and its limits, from Tirzah, because they would not let him come in; and he had all the women who were with child cut open.
Menahem, tout aussitôt, attaqua la ville de Tifsah et tout ce qui s’y trouvait, ainsi que sa banlieue depuis Tirça. Il sévit parce qu’elle n’avait pas ouvert ses portes et fit fendre le sein à toutes ses femmes enceintes.
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah, king of Judah, Menahem, the son of Gadi, became king over Israel, and was ruling in Samaria for ten years.
La trente-neuvième année du règne d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Menahem, fils de Gadi, devint roi d’Israël; il régna dix ans à Samarie.
18 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not keep himself from the sin which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel do.
li fit ce qui est mal aux yeux du Seigneur, ne renonçant pas aux prévarications de Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, qui, toute sa vie durant, avait poussé Israël au péché.
19 In his day, Pul, the king of Assyria, came up against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver so that he might let him keep the kingdom.
Phoul, roi d’Assyrie, ayant envahi le pays, Menahem lui donna mille kikkar d’argent pour obtenir son appui et affermir ainsi la royauté entre ses mains.
20 And Menahem got the money from Israel, from all the men of wealth, fifty silver shekels from every man, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria went back without stopping in the land.
Menahem rejeta la charge de cette somme d’argent sur Israël, sur tous les gens riches, les obligeant de verser pour le roi d’Assyrie cinquante sicles par personne. Le roi d’Assyrie s’en retourna et n’occupa point le pays.
21 Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

22 And Menahem went to rest with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son became king in his place.
Menahem s’endormit avec ses aïeux, et son fils Pekahia lui succéda sur le trône.
23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah, the son of Menahem, became king over Israel in Samaria, ruling for two years.
Dans la cinquantième année du règne d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Pekahia, fils de Menahem, devint roi d’Israël à Samarie; il régna deux ans.
24 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, not turning from the sin which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel do.
Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux du Seigneur, ne s’écartant point des prévarications de Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, qui avait poussé Israël au péché.
25 And Pekah, the son of Remaliah, his captain, made a secret design against him, attacking him in the king's great house in Samaria; and with him were fifty men of Gilead; and he put him to death and became king in his place.
Pékah, fils de Remaliahou, son général, complota contre lui et le frappa à Samarie, dans la citadelle du palais royal, de concert avec Argob et Arié et avec le concours de cinquante hommes d’entre les Galaadites; l’ayant mis à mort, il régna à sa place.
26 Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all he did, are recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel.
Le reste de l’histoire de Pekahia et tous ses actes sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois d’Israël.
27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah, king of Judah, Pekah, the son of Remaliah, became king over Israel in Samaria, ruling for twenty years.
Dans la cinquante-deuxième année du règne d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Pékah, fils de Remaliahou, devint roi d’Israël à Samarie; il régna vingt ans.
28 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, not turning from the sin which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel do.
Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux du Seigneur, ne s’écartant point des prévarications de Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, qui avait poussé Israël au péché.
29 In the days of Pekah, king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, came and took Ijon and Abel-beth-maacah and Janoah and Kedesh and Hazor and Gilead and Galilee and all the land of Naphtali; and he took the people away to Assyria.
Au temps de Pékah, roi d’Israël, Tiglat-Pilésser, roi d’Assyrie, survint et conquit Iyyôn, Abel-Beth-Maakha, Yanoah, Kédech, Haçor, le Galaad, la Galilée, tout le pays de Nephtali, et en déporta les habitants en Assyrie.
30 And Hoshea, the son of Elah, made a secret design against Pekah, the son of Remaliah, and, attacking him, put him to death and became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham, the son of Uzziah.
Osée, fils d’Ela, forma un complot contre Pékah, fils de Remaliahou, le frappa et le fit mourir il prit la royauté à sa place la vingtième année de Jotham, fils d’Ouzia.
31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all he did, are recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel.
Le reste de l’histoire de Pékah et tous ses actes sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois d’Israël.
32 In the second year of Pekah, the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham, the son of Uzziah, became king of Judah.
Dans la deuxième année de Pékah, fils de Remaliahou, roi d’Israël, Jotham, fils d’Ouzia, était devenu roi de Juda.
33 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he was ruling for sixteen years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
Agé de vingt-cinq ans à son avènement, il régna seize ans à Jérusalem le nom de sa mère était Yeroucha, fille de Çadok.
34 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father Uzziah had done.
Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux du Seigneur, agissant en tout comme avait agi Ouzia, son père.
35 But he did not take away the high places, and the people still went on making offerings and burning them in the high places. He was the builder of the higher doorway of the house of the Lord.
Toutefois, les hauts-lieux ne disparurent point: le peuple continua d’offrir sacrifices et encens sur les hauts-lieux. C’Est Jotham qui bâtit la porte supérieure de la maison de l’Eternel.
36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah?
Le reste de l’histoire de Jotham et tous les actes accomplis par lui sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois de Juda.
37 In those days the Lord first sent against Judah, Rezin, the king of Aram, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah.
A cette époque, Dieu commença à lancer contre Juda Recîn, roi de Syrie, et Pékah, fils de Remaliahou.
38 And Jotham went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in the town of David his father; and Ahaz his son became king in his place.
Jotham s’endormit avec ses aïeux et fut enseveli à côté d’eux, dans la Cité de son aïeul David. Achaz, son fils, lui succéda sur le trône.
