< 1 Kings 11 >

1 Now a number of strange women were loved by Solomon, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:
Tun Solomon lengpa hin gamchom mi numei tamtah ana ngailu tan ahi. Pharaoh chanu ana kichenpi kalval in jong Moab numei, Ammon numei, Edom numei, Sidon numei leh Hit numei ho jong a kichenpi in ahi.
2 The nations of which the Lord had said to the children of Israel, You are not to take wives from them and they are not to take wives from you; or they will certainly make you go after their gods: to these Solomon was united in love.
Pakaiyin Israel mipite chu kichehtah a, “Hiche namdang mite chu nakichenpi loudiu ahi, ajeh chu amahon, a pathen ho houdia nalungthim’u ahei lut diu ahi,” tia ana hilchah ahi. Ahinlah Solomon in amaho chu ana ngailu thou thou in ahi.
3 He had seven hundred wives, daughters of kings, and three hundred other wives; and through his wives his heart was turned away.
Aman Leng Chanu te jeng jasagi ana kichenpi in chuleh thaikem jathum ana neije. Atahbeh in amaho hin alung hi Pakaiya konin ana puimang tauvin ahi.
4 For it came about that when Solomon was old, his heart was turned away to other gods by his wives; and his heart was no longer true to the Lord his God as the heart of his father David had been.
Solomon hi ahung teh phat in, a lungthim hi semthu pathen dang hounan ana hei lut tauvin, apa David bangin a Pakai a Pathen ah kitah tah in pan ana la jou tapon ahi.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, and Milcom, the disgusting god of the Ammonites.
Solomon in Sidon mite semthu numei-pathen Ashtoreth leh thet umtah Ammon mite semthu pathen Molech chu ana hou tan ahi.
6 And Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord, not walking in the Lord's ways with all his heart as David his father did.
Hiti hin Solomon in Pakai mitmu’n thilsetah tah chu ana bol tan ahi.
7 Then Solomon put up a high place for Chemosh, the disgusting god of Moab, in the mountain before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the disgusting god worshipped by the children of Ammon.
Jerusalem solam, Olive molchung ah, aman thet umtah Moab te semthu pathen Chemosh leh thet umtah Ammon mite semthu pathen Molech houna dingin doiphung ana tungdoh tan ahi.
8 And so he did for all his strange wives, who made offerings with burning of perfumes to their gods.
Solomon in gamchom numei akichenpi aji ten asemthu pathen ho komma kilhaina pumgo thilto abolna diu leh gim namtui ahalnam na diuvin doiphung ana tundoh peh in ahi.
9 And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had twice come to him in a vision;
Pakai chu Solomon chunga ana lunghang lheh jeng tan ahi, ajeh chu Israel Pakai Pathen ahenga nivei tah hung kilah nung a, aman alungthim Pakaiya kona aheimang jeh ahi.
10 And had given him orders about this very thing, that he was not to go after other gods; but he did not keep the orders of the Lord.
Aman Solomon hi pathen dang ahou louna dia kicheh tah’a anagihsal sa ahin, ahinla Solomon in Pakai thupeh chu ana nahsah tapon ahi.
11 So the Lord said to Solomon, Because you have done this, and have not kept my agreement and my laws, which I gave you, I will take the kingdom away from you by force and will give it to your servant.
Hijeh chun tun Pakaiyin akom ah hiti hin thu asei tan ahi, “Nangin he nasasa a i-kitepna na suhkhah jeh leh ka Danthu nanit lou jeh in, keiman lenggam hi nang’a akona kalah doh’a na sohte lah’a khat kapeh ding ahitai,” ati.
12 I will not do it in your life-time, because of your father David, but I will take it from your son.
Ahinlah napa David jal’a nahinlai sunga hichu kabol lou ding, nachapa lengvaipoh akon a bou kalahdoh ding ahi.
13 Still I will not take all the kingdom from him; but I will give one tribe to your son, because of my servant David, and because of Jerusalem, the town of my selection.
“Ahinlah keiman lenggam pumpi chu kalah dohlou ding, kalhachapa David jal le kalhentum khopi Jerusalem jal’a phungkhat vang kadalhah peh ding ahi,” ati.
14 So the Lord sent Hadad the Edomite to make trouble for Solomon: he was of the king's seed in Edom.
Hijeh chun Pakaiyin Edom mite leng insung akonin, Hadad kitipa chu Solomon kidoupi dingin ana tungdoh tan ahi.
15 And when David had sent destruction on Edom, and Joab, the captain of the army, had gone to put the dead into the earth, and had put to death every male in Edom;
Kum phabep masanga chu David in Edom mite hi gal anajo ahi. Asepai lamkai Joab chu Israel sepai galmun’a thiho chu avuiding’a anaum den’ah ahi. Hichea aumsung chun Edom pasal ho chu anathat gam’in ahi.
16 (For Joab and all Israel were there six months till every male in Edom had been cut off; )
Joab leh Israel sepaite chu lha gup sung ana umden u ahin, hiche sung’a chu Edom mite chu ana tha gam’u ahi.
17 Hadad, being still a young boy, went in flight to Egypt, with certain Edomites, servants of his father;
Ahin hiche thilsoh lai chun, Hadad leh apa insung natong pipui ho chutoh Egypt lang’a ana jammang’u ahi. (Hiche phat laiya chu, Hadad chapang cha ahinalaiye.)
18 And they went on from Midian and came to Paran; and, taking men from Paran with them, they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who gave him a house and gave orders for his food and gave him land.
Amaho chu Midian adalhauvin, Paran ajon’un, Paran’a hin mi phabep’in ahin be uvin ahi. Hichun Egypt geiyin akitol’un, lengpa henga acheule, aman Hadad gam le in apen, neh le chah jong anape un ahi.
19 Now Hadad was very pleasing to Pharaoh, so that he gave him the sister of his wife, Tahpenes the queen, for his wife.
Pharaoh in Hadad chu angailu lheh jengin, aman ajinu lengnu Tahpenes sopinu chu aji dingin ana pen ahi.
20 And the sister of Tahpenes had a son by him, Genubath, whom Tahpenes took care of in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was living in Pharaoh's house among Pharaoh's sons.
Amanu’n chapa khat ahinpeh in amin Genubath asah tan ahi, Tahpenes lengnun Pharaoh leng inpi’ah, lengpa chate toh anavah khanglen in chule ana khoukhah in ahi.
21 Now when Hadad had news in Egypt that David had been put to rest with his fathers, and that Joab, the captain of the army, was dead, he said to Pharaoh, Send me back to my country.
David leh a sepai lamkaipa Joab chu athitai kiti thu chu Egypt alhun phat in aman Pharaoh heng’ah, “Keima ka gam lang’a kile tang’e neisol tan,” atin ahi.
22 But Pharaoh said to him, What have you been short of while you have been with me, that you are desiring to go back to your country? And he said, Nothing; but even so, send me back.
Pharaoh in, “Ipi dingin em? Hiche a hi ipi lhinglel nasah’a na in lang’a na kile nom ham?” atileh aman jong, “Ima avat aumpoi, hijongle lungset tah’in kain lam’a nei kile sah tan,” ati.
23 And God sent another trouble-maker, Rezon, the son of Eliada, who had gone in flight from his lord, Hadadezer, king of Zobah:
Pathen in Eliada chapa Rezon jong chu Solomon dou dingin ahin til doh in ahi. Rezon chu apupa Zobah lengpa Hadadezer a kona hung jamdoh ahi.
24 He got some men together and made himself captain of a band of outlaws; and went to Damascus and became king there.
Hijeh’a chu galbol loikhat lah’a lamkaija hung pang’a ahi. David in Hadadezer chu gal’a akisat pia ajo phat chun Rezon le amite chu Damacus lama ajam’un hiche a chun leng in ahung pang tan ahi.
25 He was a trouble to Israel all through the days of Solomon. And this is the damage Hadad did: he was cruel to Israel while he was ruler over Edom.
Rezon hi Solomon vaihom achaina geijin Israel ten akidoupi akhoh pen in ahung pang peh in, Hadad bangin boina ana sem jengin ahi. Rezon hin Israelte hi ahot lheh jengin, hiti chun Syria gam sunga leng in ana pang den tan ahi.
26 And there was Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite from Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother was Zeruah, a widow; and his hand was lifted up against the king.
Solomon noiya natong pipui khat Nebat chapa Jeroboam jong hi adouho lah’a lamkai khat ahi. Amahi Ephraim gam Zeredah khopi’a kon ahin anu hi Zeruah kiti meithai nu chu ahi.
27 The way in which his hand came to be lifted up against the king was this: Solomon was building the Millo and making good the damaged parts of the town of his father David;
Hiche hi ama doubol ho hung kipatna thusim chu ahi, Solomon hin inlen pang’a in neo chacha ho anasah phat’a chule apa David khopi pal ho chu anasem phat laijin,
28 And Jeroboam was an able and responsible man; and Solomon saw that he was a good worker and made him overseer of all the work given to the sons of Joseph.
Jeroboam chu thilbol theitah gollhang khat ahi ti ahin hedoh tan, chule a pottho danho chu Solomon’in amu doh phat’in, Joseph chate ni Ephraim leh Manasseh phung’a kona engbolna-a natong ho chung’a vaihom in ana pansah tan ahi.
29 Now at that time, when Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite came across him on the road; now Ahijah had put on a new robe; and the two of them were by themselves in the open country.
Nikhat hi Jeroboam chun Jerusalem adalhah'a ahung potdoh leh Shiloh a kona hung Ahijah themgaopa chun lampi’a ahung chu amun ahi. Ahijah chun ponchol athahbeh’a ana kivon in, amani achangseh chu gam lah in ana kimuto lhon in ahi.
30 And Ahijah took his new robe in his hands, parting it violently into twelve.
Ahijah chun a sangkhol chol thahleh chu asat tel in boh somleni ason ahi.
31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take ten of the parts, for this is what the Lord has said: See, I will take the kingdom away from Solomon by force, and will give ten tribes to you;
Chuin Jeroboam jah’a, “Hiche ponhal som hi kilah in, ajeh chu Pakai Israel Pathen in, ‘Solomon khut’a kon’a Lenggam hi lah peh ing kating, phungsom hi nang ka peh ding ahi,’
32 (But one tribe will be his, because of my servant David, and because of Jerusalem, the town which, out of all the tribes of Israel, I have made mine, )
Ahinla, Keiman Israel gam pumpi’a kona ka lhendoh khopi Jerusalem jeh leh ka lhachapa David jeh a Solomon hi phungkhat vang kakhen peh ding ahi.
33 Because they are turned away from me to the worship of Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, and Chemosh, the god of Moab, and Milcom, the god of the Ammonites; they have not been walking in my ways or doing what is right in my eyes or keeping my laws and my decisions as his father David did.
Ajeh chu Solomon in keima ei-nungsun in Sidon mite numei pathen Ashtoreth ahouvin, Moab mite semthu pathen Chemosh ahouvin, Ammon mite semthu pathen Molech ahouvin ahi. Aman ka lampi ajui tapon chu leh ka mitmu’a ka lungdei a abol tapon chukitle apa David in eijui bangin eijuipon ka chonna Dan ho leh ka Dan sem ho jong anit tapon ahi.
34 But I will not take the kingdom from him; I will let him be king all the days of his life, because of David my servant, in whom I took delight because he kept my orders and my laws.
Ahinlah keima tu tadi hin Solomon na konin a lengam hi abon'a ka lahdoh lou ding ahi. Keiman kana lhendoh, ka lhachapa David in kathu angaija ka Dan ho anit jeh in, ama jal in Solomon hi ahinkho lhumkeiya lamkaija kakoi jing ding ahi,” ati.
35 But I will take the kingdom from his son, and give it to you.
“Ahinlah achapa a kona lenggam hi kalah doh’a phungsom hi nang khut’a ka peh doh ding ahi.
36 And one tribe I will give to his son, so that David my servant may have a light for ever burning before me in Jerusalem, the town which I have made mine to put my name there.
Achapa hi phungkhat vang chang ding ahi. Hiti’a chu David chilhah khat vang'in ka min loupi na ding’a ka lhendoh hiche Jerusalem ahi thaomei vah bang’a vah jing ding ahi.
37 And you I will take, and you will be king over Israel, ruling over whatever is the desire of your soul.
Keiman nangma hi Israelte leng mun’a hi ka tousah ding chuteng nangman lungna chim’a vai nahop ding ahi.
38 And if you give attention to the orders I give you, walking in my ways and doing what is right in my eyes and keeping my laws and my orders as David my servant did; then I will be with you, building up for you a safe house, as I did for David, and I will give Israel to you.
Nangin kathu na ngaiya chule ka lunglhaina a neijuiya, ka lhachapa David bang’a ka Dan sem najuiya, ka thupeh nanit jing’a ahileh, Keiman kaumpi jing ding ka sohpa David kabol peh bang’a keiman nang ding’a jong nachilhah te hi amang theilou dinga ka tundoh peh ding chule Israel hi nangma kapeh ding nahi,” ati.
39 (So that I may send trouble for this on the seed of David, but not for ever.)
“Solomon chonset jeh’a hi keiman David chilhah tehi ka engbol ding ahinlah hichu phat chomkhat’a ding bou ahi,” ati.
40 And Solomon was looking for a chance to put Jeroboam to death; but he went in flight to Egypt, to Shishak, king of Egypt, and was in Egypt till the death of Solomon.
Hijeh hin Solomon in Jeroboam chu tha ding agon ahinla Jeroboam Egypt lengpa Shishak komma ajamlut in Solomon thi kahsen aga um tan ahi.
41 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all he did, and his wisdom, are they not recorded in the book of the acts of Solomon?
Hiche hin Solomon vaihom sunga thil abol hole anatoh ho chule a chihna hochu Solomon tohdohho kijihlut na lekhabu’a aki jihlut soh kei jin ahi.
42 And the time Solomon was king in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
Solomon in Jerusalem ah kum somli vai ana hom in,
43 And Solomon went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in the town of David his father: and Solomon went to rest with his fathers and Rehoboam his son became king in his place.
Ama athi phat in apa minna kisah David khopi’a ana kivui tan ahi. Chu jou in achapa Rehoboam in ama khel in leng ahungchang tai.
