1 Chronicles 27

1 Now the number of the children of Israel, that is, the heads of families, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and the men in authority who were servants of the king in anything to do with the divisions which came in and went out month by month through all the months of the year, in every division were twenty-four thousand.

Or quant aux enfants d'Israël, selon leur dénombrement, il y avait des Chefs de pères, des Gouverneurs de milliers et de centaines, et leurs prévôts, qui servaient le Roi selon tout l'état des départements, dont l'un entrait, et l'autre sortait, de mois en mois, durant tous les mois de l'année; et chaque département était de vingt et quatre mille hommes.

2 Over the first division for the first month was Ishbaal, the son of Zabdiel; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Et Jasobham fils de Zabdiël [présidait] sur le premier département, pour le premier mois; et dans son département il y avait vingt et quatre mille hommes.

3 He was of the sons of Perez, and the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.

Il était des enfants de Pharés, Chef de tous les capitaines de l'armée du premier mois.

4 And over the division for the second month was Eleazar, the son of Dodai the Ahohite, the ruler; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Dodaï Ahohite [présidait] sur le département du second mois, ayant Mikloth pour Lieutenant en son département; et dans son département il y avait vingt et quatre mille hommes.

5 The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le Chef de la troisième armée pour le troisième mois, était Bénaja fils de Jéhojadah Sacrificateur, [et capitaine en] Chef; et dans son département il y avait vingt et quatre mille hommes.

6 This is the same Benaiah who was the great man of the thirty, chief of the thirty; and in his division was Ammizabad his son.

C'est ce Bénaja qui était fort entre les trente, et par dessus les trente; et Hammizabad son fils était dans son département.

7 The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel, the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le quatrième pour le quatrième mois était Hazaël frère de Joab, et Zébadia son fils, après lui; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

8 The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le cinquième pour le cinquième mois était le capitaine Samhuth de Jizrah; et dans son département il y avait vingt et quatre mille hommes.

9 The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira, the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le sixième pour le sixième mois était Hira fils d'Hikkés Tékohite; et dans son département il y avait vingt et quatre mille hommes.

10 The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le septième pour le septième mois était Hélets Pélonite, des enfants d'Ephraïm; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

11 The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le huitième pour le huitième mois était Sibbecaï Husathite, [de la famille] des Zarhites; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

12 The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le neuvième pour le neuvième mois était Abihézer Hanathothite, des Benjamites; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

13 The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le dixième pour le dixième mois [était] Naharaï Nétophathite, [de la famille] des Zarhites; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

14 The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

L'onzième pour l'onzième mois [était] Bénaja Pirhathonite, des enfants d'Ephraïm; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

15 The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

Le douzième pour le douzième mois était Heldaï Nétophathite, [appartenant] à Hothniël; et il y avait dans son département vingt et quatre mille hommes.

16 And over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer, the son of Zichri; of the Simeonites, Shephatiah, the son of Maacah;

Et [ceux-ci présidaient] sur les Tribus d'Israël; Elihézer fils de Zicri était le conducteur des Rubénites. Des Siméonites, Séphatia fils de Mahaca.

17 Of Levi, Hashabiah, the son of Kemuel; of Aaron, Zadok;

Des Lévites, Hasabia fils de Kémuël. De ceux d'Aaron, Tsadoc.

18 Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brothers of David; of Issachar, Omri, the son of Michael;

De Juda, Elihu, qui était des frères de David. De ceux d'Issacar, Homri fils de Micaël.

19 Of Zebulun, Ishmaiah, the son of Obadiah; of Naphtali, Jerimoth, the son of Azriel;

De ceux de Zabulon, Jismahia, fils de Hobadia. De ceux de Nephthali, Jérimoth fils de Hazriël.

20 Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea, the son of Azaziah; of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel, the son of Pedaiah;

Des enfants d'Ephraïm, Hosée fils de Hazazia. De la demi-Tribu de Manassé, Joël fils de Pédaja.

21 Of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo, the son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel, the son of Abner;

De l'autre demi-Tribu de Manassé en Galaad, Jiddo fils de Zacharie. De ceux de Benjamin, Jahasiël fils d'Abner.

22 Of Dan, Azarel, the son of Jeroham. These were the captains of the tribes of Israel.

De ceux de Dan, Hazaréël fils de Jéroham. Ce sont là les principaux des Tribus d'Israël.

23 But David did not take the number of those who were under twenty years old, for the Lord had said that he would make Israel like the stars of heaven in number.

Mais David ne fit point le dénombrement des Israélites, depuis l'âge de vingt ans et au dessous; parce que l'Eternel avait dit qu'il multiplierait Israël comme les étoiles du ciel.

24 The numbering was started by Joab, the son of Zeruiah, but he did not go on to the end; and because of it, wrath came on Israel and the number was not recorded in the history of King David.

Joab fils de Tséruiä avait bien commencé à en faire le dénombrement, mais il n'acheva pas, parce que l'indignation de Dieu s'était répandue à cause de cela sur Israël; c'est pourquoi ce dénombrement ne fut point mis parmi les dénombrements enregistrés dans les Chroniques du Roi David.

25 And Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was controller of the king's property; Jonathan, the son of Uzziah, had control of all store-houses in country places and in the towns and little towns and strong places;

Or Hazmaveth fils d'Hadiël était commis sur les finances du Roi; mais Jonathan fils d'Huzija était commis sur les finances qui étaient à la campagne, dans les villes et aux villages et aux châteaux.

26 Ezri, the son of Chelub, had authority over the field-workers and farmers;

Et Hezri, fils de Kélub, était commis sur ceux qui travaillaient dans la campagne au labourage de la terre.

27 Shimei the Ramathite was responsible for the vine-gardens; Zabdi the Shiphmite was responsible for the produce of the vine-gardens and for all the stores of wine;

Et Simhi Ramathite sur les vignes, et Zabdi Siphmien sur ce qui provenait des vignes, et sur les celliers du vin.

28 Baal-hanan the Gederite was responsible for the olive-trees and the sycamore-trees in the lowlands; and Joash for the stores of oil;

Et Bahal-hanan Guéderite sur les oliviers, et sur les figuiers qui étaient en la campagne; et Johas sur les celliers à huile.

29 And Shitrai the Sharonite was responsible for the herds in the grass-lands of Sharon, and Shaphat, the son of Adlai, for those in the valleys;

Et Sitraï Saronite, était commis sur le gros bétail qui paissait en Saron; et Saphat fils de Hadlaï sur le gros bétail qui paissait dans les vallées.

30 Obil the Ishmaelite had control of the camels and Jehdeiah the Meronothite of the she-asses;

Et Obil Ismaëlite sur les chameaux; Jéhdeja Méronothite, sur les ânesses.

31 The flocks were in the care of Jaziz the Hagarite. All these were the controllers of King David's property.

Et Jaziz Hagarénien sur les troupeaux du menu bétail. Tous ceux-là avaient la charge du bétail qui appartenait au Roi David.

32 Now Jonathan, David's father's brother, expert in discussion, and a man of good sense, was a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni, had the care of the king's sons;

Mais Jonathan, oncle de David, était conseiller, homme fort intelligent et scribe, et Jéhiël fils de Hacmoni était avec les enfants du Roi.

33 And Ahithophel was the king's expert in discussion and Hushai the Archite was the king's friend.

Et Achitophel était le conseiller du Roi; et Cusaï Arkite était l'intime ami du Roi.

34 After Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar; and the captain of the king's army was Joab.

Après Achitophel était Jéhojadah fils de Bénaja et Abiathar; et Joab était le Général de l'armée du Roi.
