< Romans 9 >
1 I speak the truth in Christ; I am not lying, as confirmed by my conscience in the Holy Spirit.
Lino ndambanga cakubinga ame ndewakendi Yesu Klistu, kayi nkandabepenga sobwe. Mengashilo akame alatangununwanga ne Mushimu Uswepa ulanyinshilinga bukamboni kwambeti
2 I have deep sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
ndetelwa mumoyo. Kayi cilambabanga kwakutalekesha
3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my own flesh and blood,
pacebo ca bakwetu, bantu ba mushobo wakame. Nendalakondwa kwambeti pamusena wabo ame nendalaba washinganwa, walekana kuli Klistu.
4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory and the covenants; theirs the giving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises.
Balo e Baislayeli, Lesa mbwalasala kwambeti babe banabendi, kayi walababonesha bulemeno. Lesa walapangana nabo, kayi nekubapa Milawo. Walabeisha mwakukambilila, kayi balatambula ncalabashomesha.
5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them proceeds the human descent of Christ, who is God over all, forever worthy of praise! Amen. (aiōn )
Nabo nibashikulu ba bamashali betu bakaindi, kayi Klistu Mupulushi walaiwa usa ni wa mumushobo wabo twamba sha buntu bwakendi. Lesa lendeleshenga byonse alemekwe cindi conse. Ameni. (aiōn )
6 It is not as though God’s word has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.
Lino nteko kwambeti Lesa nkalasunga ncalashomesha sobwe. Pakwinga ntebo bonse beshikusemwa mu mushobo wa Baislayeli kwambeti ni bantu ba Lesa sobwe.
7 Nor because they are Abraham’s descendants are they all his children. On the contrary, “Through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.”
Nambi kwambeti bashikulu bonse ba Abulahamu nibana ba Lesa. Nsombi Lesa walambila Abulahamu kwambeti, “Bana ba Isaki bonka endibo beshi bakakwiweti bashikulu bakobe.”
8 So it is not the children of the flesh who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as offspring.
Lino nte bana bonse ba Abulahamu belela kukwiweti ebana ba Lesa sobwe. Bashikulu bendi bancinencine ni bana abo bonka balasemwa kwelana ne cishomesho ca Lesa.
9 For this is what the promise stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”
Lesa walashomesha mpwalambeti, “Pacindi celela ninkabwele, kayi Sala nakabe ne mwana mutuloba.”
10 Not only that, but Rebecca’s children were conceived by one man, our father Isaac.
Lino nteco ici conka sobwe. Bana babili ba Lubeka basa mushali wabo walikuba umo, mushali wetu Isaki.
11 Yet before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad, in order that God’s plan of election might stand,
Nambi bana abo nkabatana basemwa, kayi katana ainsapo caina ciliconse nambi caipa, Lesa walayandeti kuyanda kwakendi nkwalasalilalimo muntu uliyense kwinshike. Walensa ibi kutamba pacebo ca ncito shabo, nsombi pacebo cakwambeti Lesa walamukuwa.
12 not by works but by Him who calls, she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”
Neco Lesa walambila Lubeka eti, “Mukulene nakasebensele kanike.”
13 So it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
Pakwinga Mabala alambangeti, “Yakobo ndalamusuna, nsombi ndalapela Esau.”
14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Certainly not!
Lino ngatwambeconi? Sena ngatwambeti Lesa nkalulama? Sobwe, nkatwela kwambeco.
15 For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
Pakwinga nendi walambila Mose eti, “Ninkenshile nkumbo muntu uliyense ngonsuni kumwinshila nkumbo, ninkanyumfwile luse uyo ngonsuni kumunyumfwila luse.”
16 So then, it does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.
Neco cilayandikinga nteco muntu ncasuni, nambi bintu muntu mbyakute kwelesha kwinsa, nsombi cilayandikinga ni nkumbo sha Lesa.
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Mbuli ncotukute kubelenga mu Mabala kwambeti Lesa walambila mwami waku Injipto kwambeti, “Ndalakubika kuba mwami, kwambeti mulinjobe ndeshe ngofu shakame, kayi nekwambeti lina lyakame linyumfwike pacishi conse capanshi.”
18 Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.
Neco tukute kuboneti Lesa ukute kwinshila inkumbo muntu uyo ngwasuni kwambeti amwinshile nkumbo, kayi ukute kusandula muntu uliyense kuba muntu wayuma moyo na kayanda.
19 One of you will say to me, “Then why does God still find fault? For who can resist His will?”
Lino naumbi ngaunjipusheti, “Na cilico, inga nipacebo cini Lesa ncakute kubapela mulandu bantu? Niyani wela kukanisha Lesa ncalayandanga kwinsa?”
20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it, “Why did You make me like this?”
Nsombi obe muntu, njobe bani kwambeti ngototekeshana ne Lesa? Sena nongo ngaipusha shikwibumba, “Nomba mulamumbu aconi mushobo uwu?”
21 Does not the potter have the right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special occasions and another for common use?
Sena shikubumba nkela kubumba nongo shibili ne bulungo bopelobo naimbi iba yakusebensesha cindi capalubasu naimbi iba ya masuba onse?
22 What if God, intending to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great patience the vessels of His wrath, prepared for destruction?
Lesa encabele. Walayanda kulesha bukalu bwakendi, kayi ne kuyandeti ngofu shakendi shinshibike, nsombi walapitilisha kwikalika moyo pa bintu byali kwinsa bantu mbwalakalalila, kayi balikuba belela konongeka.
23 What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the vessels of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory—
Kayi Lesa walayanda kwambeti bulemeneno bwakendi bunene bwinshibike palinjafwe, nomba nendi walatwinshila nkumbo, ne kutubambilalimo kwambeti tutambule bulemeneno bwakendi.
24 including us, whom He has called not only from the Jews, but also from the Gentiles?
Weco afwe njafwe mbwalakuwa Lesa, kutambeti kufuma ku Bayuda bonka sobwe, nsombi kufuma kayi mu bantu ba mishobo naimbi.
25 As He says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘My People’ who are not My people, and I will call her ‘My Beloved’ who is not My beloved,”
Mbuli Lesa ncalambanga mulibuku lya mushinshimi Hosiya, “Abo balikubula kuba bantu bakame, nindibakuweti ‘Bantu bakame.’ Mushobo uyo ngondalikubula kuyanda, nibakabe ‘Bantu mbonsuni.’
26 and, “It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
Kayi kumusena uko enkobalambilweti, ‘Ntamwe mushobo wakame,’ Kopeloko ni bakakwiweti ‘Bana ba Lesa muyumi.’”
27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites is like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved.
Nendi Yesaya mushinshimi walolobesha pakwamba sha Baislayeli kwambeti, “Nambi Baislayeli bafule eti museya wa ku mulonga, nsombi bang'anowa ebeshi bakapuluke.”
28 For the Lord will carry out His sentence on the earth thoroughly and decisively.”
Pakwinga Mwami nakomboloshe milandu ya bantu bonse ba pacishi capanshi, kayi nakense copeleco mwakufwambana.
29 It is just as Isaiah foretold: “Unless the Lord of Hosts had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have resembled Gomorrah.”
Ici cili mbuli kayi Yesaya ncalamba kaindi kwambeti, “Mwami wangofu shonse nalabula kutushilako bashikulu nabambi, nshinga nitwalalobeti Sodomu ne Gomola.”
30 What then will we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;
Lino ngatwambeconi? Ngatwambeti bantu bamishobo naimbi, abo balikubula kushako mano shakuba balulama pamenso a Lesa, balatambula bululami pakushoma.
31 but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it.
Kakuli Baislayeli abo balikwelesha kuba balulama pamenso a Lesa pakusunga Milawo ya Mose, balalilwa.
32 Why not? Because their pursuit was not by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
Nomba nipacebo cini? Nipacebo cakwambeti balikuyanda kuba bantu balulama pamenso a Lesa, kutamba pakushoma, nsombi pakushoma ncito shaina. Neco balalisuntula pa libwe lyalikulisuntulapo bantu,
33 as it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; and the one who believes in Him will never be put to shame.”
mbuli Mabala ncalambangeti, “Kamubonani ame ndabikinga mu Siyoni libwe ilyo lyeshi bakalisuntulengaponga bantu. Libwe lyacandanshi ilyo lyeshi likabawishe. Nomba uyo wamushoma nteshakabe ne nsoni.” Sobwe.
