Romans 11
1 I ask then, did God reject His people? Certainly not! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
௧இப்படியிருக்க, தேவன் தம்முடைய மக்களைத் தள்ளிவிட்டாரோ என்று கேட்கிறேன், தள்ளிவிடவில்லையே; நானும் ஆபிரகாமின் வம்சத்திலும் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்திலும் பிறந்த இஸ்ரவேலன்.
2 God did not reject His people, whom He foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah, how he appealed to God against Israel:
௨தேவன், தாம் முன்குறித்துக்கொண்ட தம்முடைய மக்களைத் தள்ளிவிடவில்லை. எலியாவைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லிய இடத்தில், வேதம் சொல்லுகிறதை தெரியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்களா? அவன் தேவனைப் பார்த்து:
3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my life as well”?
௩கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை அவர்கள் கொலைசெய்து, உம்முடைய பலிபீடங்களை இடித்துப்போட்டார்கள்; நான் ஒருவன்மட்டும் மீதியாக இருக்கிறேன், என் உயிரையும் வாங்கத் தேடுகிறார்களே என்று இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு எதிராக விண்ணப்பம் செய்தபோது,
4 And what was the divine reply to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
௪அவனுக்கு உண்டான தேவனுடைய பதில் என்ன? பாகாலுக்கு முன்பாக முழங்கால்படியிடாத ஏழாயிரம்பேரை எனக்காக மீதியாக வைத்தேன் என்பதே.
5 In the same way, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
௫அதுபோல இந்தக்காலத்திலும் கிருபையினாலே உண்டாகும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளுதலின்படி ஒரு பங்கு மீதியாக இருக்கிறது.
6 And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.
௬அது கிருபையினாலே உண்டாயிருந்தால் செயல்களினாலே உண்டாயிருக்காது; அப்படியில்லை என்றால், கிருபையானது கிருபை இல்லையே. அன்றியும் அது செயல்களினாலே உண்டாயிருந்தால் அது கிருபையாக இருக்காது; அப்படியில்லை என்றால் செய்கையானது செய்கை இல்லையே.
7 What then? What Israel was seeking, it failed to obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,
௭அப்படியானால் என்ன? இஸ்ரவேலர் தேடுகிறதை அடையாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள்; தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களோ அதை அடைந்திருக்கிறார்கள்; மற்றவர்கள் இன்றைய நாள்வரை கடினப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
8 as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see, and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”
௮தூக்கத்தின் ஆவியையும், பார்க்காமல் இருக்கிற கண்களையும், கேட்காமல் இருக்கிற காதுகளையும், தேவன் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியானது.
9 And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
௯அன்றியும், “அவர்களுடைய பந்தி அவர்களுக்குச் சுருக்கும், கண்ணியும், இடறுதற்கான கல்லும், பதிலுக்குப்பதில் கொடுப்பதுமாக இருக்கட்டும்;
10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.”
௧0பார்க்காதபடிக்கு அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் இருள் அடையட்டும்; அவர்களுடைய முதுகை எப்போதும் குனியப்பண்ணும்” என்று தாவீதும் சொல்லியிருக்கிறான்.
11 I ask then, did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Certainly not! However, because of their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.
௧௧இப்படியிருக்க, விழுந்துபோவதற்காகவா இடறினார்கள் என்று கேட்கிறேன், அப்படி இல்லையே; அவர்களுக்குள்ளே வைராக்கியத்தை எழுப்புவதற்காக அவர்களுடைய தவறுதலினாலே யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்கு இரட்சிப்பு கிடைத்தது.
12 But if their trespass means riches for the world, and their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!
௧௨அவர்களுடைய தவறு உலகத்திற்கு செல்வமும், அவர்களுடைய குறைவு யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்கு செல்வமாகவும் இருக்க அவர்களுடைய நிறைவு எவ்வளவு அதிகமாக அப்படியிருக்கும்.
13 I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
௧௩யூதரல்லாத மக்களாகிய உங்களோடு பேசுகிறேன்; யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்கு நான் அப்போஸ்தலனாக இருக்கிறதினாலே, என் இனத்தார்களுக்குள்ளே நான் வைராக்கியத்தை எழுப்பி, அவர்களில் சிலரை இரட்சிக்கவேண்டுமென்று,
14 in the hope that I may provoke my own people to jealousy and save some of them.
௧௪என் ஊழியத்தை மேன்மைப்படுத்துகிறேன்.
15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
௧௫அவர்களைத் தள்ளிவிடுதல் உலகத்தை ஒப்புரவாக்குதலாக இருக்க, அவர்களை அங்கீகரித்துக்கொள்ளுதல் எப்படி இருக்கும்? மரித்தோருக்கு ஜீவன் உண்டானதுபோல இருக்கும் அல்லவோ?
16 If the first part of the dough is holy, so is the whole batch; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
௧௬மேலும் முதற்பலனாகிய மாவானது பரிசுத்தமாக இருந்தால், பிசைந்த மாவு முழுவதும் பரிசுத்தமாக இருக்கும்; வேரானது பரிசுத்தமாக இருந்தால், கிளைகளும் பரிசுத்தமாக இருக்கும்.
17 Now if some branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others to share in the nourishment of the olive root,
௧௭சில கிளைகள் முறித்துப் போடப்பட்டிருக்க, காட்டு ஒலிவமரமாகிய நீ அவைகள் இருந்த இடத்தில் ஒட்டவைக்கப்பட்டு, ஒலிவமரத்தின் வேருக்கும், சாரத்திற்கும் உடன்பங்காளியாக இருந்தால்,
18 do not boast over those branches. If you do, remember this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
௧௮நீ அந்தக் கிளைகளுக்கு எதிராகப் பெருமைப்படாதே; பெருமைப்பட்டால், நீ வேரைச் சுமக்காமல், வேர் உன்னைச் சுமக்கிறது என்று நினைத்துக்கொள்.
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”
௧௯நான் ஒட்டவைக்கப்படுவதற்கு அந்தக் கிளைகள் முறித்துப் போடப்பட்டது என்று சொல்லுகிறாயே.
20 That is correct: They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
௨0நல்லது, அவிசுவாசத்தினாலே அவைகள் முறித்துப் போடப்பட்டன, நீ விசுவாசத்தினாலே நிற்கிறாய்; மேட்டிமைச் சிந்தையாக இல்லாமல் பயந்திரு.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly not spare you either.
௨௧சுபாவக்கிளைகளை தேவன் தப்பவிடாமல் இருக்க, உன்னையும் தப்பவிடமாட்டார் என்று எச்சரிக்கையாக இரு.
22 Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
௨௨எனவே, தேவனுடைய தயவையும் கண்டிப்பையும் பார்; விழுந்தவர்களிடம் கண்டிப்பையும், உன்னிடத்தில் தயவையும் காண்பித்தார்; அந்தத் தயவிலே நிலைத்திருந்தால் உனக்குத் தயவு கிடைக்கும்; நிலைக்காவிட்டால் நீயும் வெட்டப்பட்டுப் போவாய்.
23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
௨௩அன்றியும், அவர்கள் அவிசுவாசத்திலே நிலைத்திராதிருந்தால் அவர்களும் ஒட்டவைக்கப்படுவார்கள்; அவர்களை மீண்டும் ஒட்டவைக்கிறதற்கு தேவன் வல்லவராக இருக்கிறாரே.
24 For if you were cut from a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into one that is cultivated, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
௨௪சுபாவத்தின்படி காட்டு ஒலிவமரத்திலிருந்து நீ வெட்டப்பட்டு, சுபாவத்திற்கு எதிராக நல்ல ஒலிவமரத்திலே ஒட்டவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தால், சுபாவக்கிளைகளாகிய அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய சுய ஒலிவமரத்திலே ஒட்டவைக்கப்படுவது அதிக நிச்சயமல்லவா?
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
௨௫மேலும், சகோதரர்களே, நீங்கள் உங்களையே புத்திமான்கள் என்று நினைக்காதபடி ஒரு இரகசியத்தை நீங்கள் தெரிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று இருக்கிறேன்; அது என்னவென்றால், யூதரல்லாத மக்களுடைய நிறைவு உண்டாகும்வரைக்கும் இஸ்ரவேலரில் ஒரு பகுதி மக்களுக்கு கடினமான மனது உண்டாயிருக்கும்.
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will remove godlessness from Jacob.
௨௬இப்படியே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் அனைவரும் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவார்கள். “மீட்கிறவர் சீயோனிலிருந்து வந்து, அவபக்தியை யாக்கோபைவிட்டு நீக்குவார் என்றும்;
27 And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
௨௭நான் அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களை நீக்கும்போது, இதுவே நான் அவர்களோடு செய்யும் உடன்படிக்கை” என்றும் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.
28 Regarding the gospel, they are enemies on your account; but regarding election, they are loved on account of the patriarchs.
௨௮நற்செய்தியைக்குறித்து அவர்கள் உங்கள்நிமித்தம் பகைவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்; தெரிந்துகொள்ளுதலைக்குறித்து அவர்கள் முற்பிதாக்களினிமித்தம் நேசிக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.
29 For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.
௨௯தேவனுடைய கிருபைவரங்களும், அவர்களை அழைத்த அழைப்பும் மாறாதவைகளே.
30 Just as you who formerly disobeyed God have now received mercy through their disobedience,
௩0எனவே, நீங்கள் முற்காலத்திலே தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல் இருந்து, இப்பொழுது அவர்களுடைய கீழ்ப்படியாமையினாலே இரக்கம் பெற்றிருக்கிறதுபோல,
31 so they too have now disobeyed, in order that they too may now receive mercy through the mercy shown to you.
௩௧அவர்களும் இப்பொழுது கீழ்ப்படியாமல் இருந்தும், பின்பு உங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த இரக்கத்தினாலே இரக்கம்பெறுவார்கள்.
32 For God has consigned everyone to disobedience so that He may have mercy on everyone. (eleēsē g1653)
௩௨எல்லோர்மேலும் இரக்கமாக இருப்பதற்காக, தேவன் எல்லோரையும் கீழ்ப்படியாமைக்குள்ளே அடைத்துப்போட்டார். (eleēsē g1653)
33 O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
௩௩ஆ! தேவனுடைய செல்வம், ஞானம், அறிவு என்பவைகளின் ஆழம் எவ்வளவாக இருக்கிறது! அவருடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகள் அளந்துபார்க்க முடியாதவைகள், அவருடைய வழிகள் ஆராய்ந்துபார்க்க முடியாதவைகள்!
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?”
௩௪“கர்த்தருடைய சிந்தையைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டவன் யார்? அவருக்கு ஆலோசனைக்காரனாக இருந்தவன் யார்?
35 “Who has first given to God, that God should repay him?”
௩௫தனக்குத் திரும்பக்கிடைக்கும் என்று முதலில் அவருக்கு ஒன்றைக் கொடுத்தவன் யார்?”
