Romans 11
1 I ask then, did God reject His people? Certainly not! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
Entonces digo: ¿Ha rechazado Dios a su pueblo? aclaró que no! Porque yo soy de Israel, de la simiente de Abraham, de la tribu de Benjamín.
2 God did not reject His people, whom He foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah, how he appealed to God against Israel:
Dios no ha rechazado a su pueblo. Al cual desde el principio reconoció como su pueblo¿O no sabes lo que se dice sobre Elías en las Sagradas Escrituras? cómo invocó Dios en contra de Israel,
3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my life as well”?
Señor, ellos han matado a tus profetas, y han destruido tus altares, y ahora yo soy el último, y ellos me están buscando para matarme.
4 And what was the divine reply to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
¿Pero qué respuesta le hace Dios a él? He apartado siete mil hombres cuyas rodillas no se han doblegado a Baal.
5 In the same way, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
De la misma manera, en este momento hay un remanente; unos pocos, que Dios en su bondad ha escogido.
6 And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.
Pero si es por gracia, entonces ya no es por obras: o la gracia no sería gracia. Y si por obras, ya no es gracia; de otra manera la obra ya no es obra.
7 What then? What Israel was seeking, it failed to obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,
¿Qué, entonces? Lo que Israel estaba buscando no lo consiguió, pero los escogidos lo obtuvieron y el resto fueron cegados.
8 as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see, and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”
Como fue dicho en las Sagradas Escrituras, Dios les dio un espíritu de sueño, ojos que no ven, y oídos que no tienen oído, hasta el día de hoy.
9 And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
Y David dice: Sea sus banquetes trampas y redes, para que tropiecen y sean, castigados:
10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.”
Sean oscurecidos sus ojos para que no vean; que su espalda se doble para siempre.
11 I ask then, did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Certainly not! However, because of their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.
Entonces digo: ¿será que los judíos al tropezar cayeron por completo? De ninguna manera: pero por su caída ha llegado la salvación a los gentiles, para que puedan ser llevados a la envidia.
12 But if their trespass means riches for the world, and their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!
Ahora, si su caída es la riqueza del mundo, y su fracaso es la riqueza de los gentiles, ¿cuánto mayor será la restauración?
13 I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
Pero yo les digo, gentiles, que en cuanto yo soy el apóstol de los gentiles, honro mi ministerio.
14 in the hope that I may provoke my own people to jealousy and save some of them.
si de alguna manera los que son de mi propia raza sientan envidia de ustedes, de modo que algunos de ellos pueda obtener la salvación.
15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
Porque si al ser rechazados, es la reconciliación del mundo con Dios, Que no será cuando sean aceptados? Vida para los que estaban muertos!
16 If the first part of the dough is holy, so is the whole batch; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
Y si el primer fruto es santo, así es la masa restante; y si la raíz es santa, también lo son las ramas.
17 Now if some branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others to share in the nourishment of the olive root,
Pero si algunas de las ramas fueron quebradas, y tú, un olivo de los campos, has sido injertado en lugar de ellas, y se les dio parte con ellos en la raíz y de la savia por la cual el olivo se hace fértil,
18 do not boast over those branches. If you do, remember this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
No te jactes contra las ramas, porque si te jactas, recuerda que no eres tú el que apoya la raíz, sino que es por la raíz por la que recibes apoyo.
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”
Dirás: Las ramas se rompieron para injertarme a mí.
20 That is correct: They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
En verdad, porque no tenían fe es que fueron cortadas, y tú tienes tu lugar por tu fe. No te jactes con orgullo, sino ten temor;
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly not spare you either.
Porque si Dios no perdonó a las ramas naturales, a ti tampoco te perdonará.
22 Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
Mira, entonces, la bondad y severidad de Dios; es bueno, pero para los que cayeron, él fue duro, pero para ti ha sido bueno, con la condición de que te mantengas en su misericordia; si no, serás cortado como ellos fueron.
23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
Y ellos, si no continúan en su incredulidad, se unirán nuevamente al árbol, porque Dios puede injertarlos de nuevo.
24 For if you were cut from a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into one that is cultivated, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
Porque si fuiste cortado del árbol de olivo, que es por naturaleza silvestre, contra naturaleza fuiste injertado en él buen olivo ¿cuánto más éstos, las ramas naturales, se unirán de nuevo con el olivo que era de ellos?
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
Porque es mi deseo, hermanos, que sepan este secreto plan de Dios, para que no se crean arrogantes entre ustedes mismos, que Israel se ha endurecido en parte, pero solo hasta que todos los gentiles hayan entrado;
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will remove godlessness from Jacob.
Y así todo Israel obtendrá la salvación; como está dicho en las Sagradas Escrituras, de Sión saldrá el libertador; que apartará de Jacob la impiedad.
27 And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Y este es mi pacto con ellos, cuando quitare sus pecados.
28 Regarding the gospel, they are enemies on your account; but regarding election, they are loved on account of the patriarchs.
En lo que concierne al mensaje de salvación, están separados de Dios por causa de ustedes; pero por lo que se refiere a la elección, son amados a causa de los padres.
29 For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.
Porque irrevocables son los dones de Dios. Dios no quita lo que da, ni retira su llamamiento.
30 Just as you who formerly disobeyed God have now received mercy through their disobedience,
Porque como tú, en otro tiempo, no creyeron a Dios, sino que ahora han obtenido misericordia, por la desobediencia de ellos.
31 so they too have now disobeyed, in order that they too may now receive mercy through the mercy shown to you.
Así que de la misma manera estos han ido en contra de las órdenes de Dios, para que por la misericordia que se te da ahora, ellos también puedan alcanzar misericordia.
32 For God has consigned everyone to disobedience so that He may have mercy on everyone. (eleēsē g1653)
Porque Dios los ha dejado ir contra sus órdenes, para que él tenga misericordia de todos ellos. (eleēsē g1653)
33 O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
¡Oh cuán profunda es la riqueza de la sabiduría y el conocimiento de Dios! nadie puede descubrir sus decisiones, y sus caminos no pueden ser investigados.
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?”
¿Quién tiene conocimiento de la mente del Señor? ¿o quién fue su consejero?
35 “Who has first given to God, that God should repay him?”
¿O quién le dio primero a él, y le será devuelto nuevamente?
