< Romans 11 >
1 I ask then, did God reject His people? Certainly not! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
Rumal kꞌu wa kinta chiꞌwe: ¿La xa kꞌu xretzelaj ri Dios ri utinimit? Man je ta riꞌ. In in aj Israel, in rijaꞌl ri Abraham, uj petinaq chike ri winaq ri e ralkꞌwaꞌl ri Benjamín.
2 God did not reject His people, whom He foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah, how he appealed to God against Israel:
Ri Dios man xretzelaj taj ri utinimit ri uchaꞌom loq ojer. ¿La man kꞌu iwetaꞌm ri kubꞌij ri Tzꞌibꞌatalik che ri Elías? Ri Elías xuꞌtzujuj ri winaq aꞌj Israel che ri Dios.
3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my life as well”?
Xaq xwi ri in xinkꞌasiꞌ kanoq, are kꞌu kakaj kinkikamisaj.
4 And what was the divine reply to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
¿Jas kꞌu xbꞌix che rumal ri Dios? Xbꞌix che: E Nuqꞌatom wuqubꞌ mil achyabꞌ ri man e xukulinaq ta wi choch ri Baal.
5 In the same way, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
Xaq jeriꞌ pa taq we qꞌij riꞌ xaq jeꞌ e koltal kanoq e jujun winaq ri e chaꞌtalik xa rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios.
6 And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.
We rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios xechaꞌik, man xechaꞌ ta riꞌ rumal ta ri kichak, we rumal ri kichak xechaꞌik, man toqꞌobꞌ ta bꞌa riꞌ.
7 What then? What Israel was seeking, it failed to obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,
¿Jas kꞌu kaqabꞌij? Man konojel taj ri tinimit Israel xkiriq ri qas karaj ri kanimaꞌ, areꞌ kꞌu ri xechaꞌ rumal ri Dios, qas xkiriq wi ri xraj ri kanimaꞌ, are kꞌu ri nikꞌaj chik, xkowirisax ri kanimaꞌ.
8 as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see, and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”
Jetaq ri kubꞌij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: Ri Dios xukowirisaj ri kanimaꞌ, xubꞌan chike chi pune kꞌo kibꞌoqꞌoch man kekaꞌy taj, xuqujeꞌ pune kꞌo kixikin, maj kitanabꞌal, jeriꞌ kꞌulmatajinaq kukꞌ kꞌa pa taq we qꞌij kamik riꞌ.
9 And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
Ri David kubꞌij: Chuxoq ri kinimaqꞌij jun kꞌaꞌmabꞌal pa kibꞌe, xuqujeꞌ jun kꞌat rech ketzaq chupam, jeriꞌ kaqꞌat na tzij pa kiwiꞌ che utojbꞌalil ri kakibꞌano.
10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.”
Chemoyiroq rech man kekaꞌy ta chik xuqujeꞌ kotokobꞌ ri uwo kachaq rech man kuꞌtzir ta wi.
11 I ask then, did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Certainly not! However, because of their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.
Chanim kꞌut kinta chiꞌwe: ¿La xa kꞌu xkitopij kaqan rech man xekwin ta chik xewaꞌjilik? Man je ta riꞌ, xane xa rumal ri kimak xpe ri kolotajem chike ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj, rech jeriꞌ qas kakinaꞌ na kꞌax pa kanimaꞌ chike ri nikꞌaj winaq chik.
12 But if their trespass means riches for the world, and their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!
We are ri kimak ri tinimit Israel xqꞌinomarisan ri uwachulew, we are ri kitzaqem xbꞌanow qꞌinomabꞌ chike ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj, are ta kꞌu mat sibꞌalaj nim na qꞌinomal kakiya na aꞌreꞌ ketzaratzobꞌ loq.
13 I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
Iwukꞌ ix kintzijon wi ri man ix aꞌj Israel taj. Jeriꞌ rumal cher in taqoꞌn chi kech ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj, rumal riꞌ kinya uqꞌij ri nuchak.
14 in the hope that I may provoke my own people to jealousy and save some of them.
Wine rukꞌ we kinbꞌij riꞌ kinkwinik kinkoj kꞌax pa kanimaꞌ ri e nuwinaqil, wine rukꞌ jubꞌiqꞌ kekolotaj na jujun chike.
15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
Jeriꞌ rumal we xukꞌam la utzirem chike ri winaq man aꞌj Israel taj are xetzelax kiwach ri aꞌj Israel, ¿la man kꞌu kayaꞌtaj na kikꞌaslemal we kekꞌamawaꞌx chi na junmul pune e kꞌo chikixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ?
16 If the first part of the dough is holy, so is the whole batch; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
We sibꞌalaj tyox ri nabꞌe taq jastaq ri katzuj cho ri Dios, tyoxirisatal xuqujeꞌ bꞌa riꞌ ri qꞌor ri kakanaj kanoq, we tyoxirisatal ri ukꞌaꞌmal ri cheꞌ, tyoxirisatal xuqujeꞌ bꞌa riꞌ ri uqꞌabꞌ ri cheꞌ.
17 Now if some branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others to share in the nourishment of the olive root,
We kꞌo jujun uqꞌabꞌ ri cheꞌ ri xesakꞌix bꞌik, ri at kꞌut, ri at juyubꞌil cheꞌ xaq xatnakꞌ ku che chikixoꞌl ri uqꞌabꞌ ri jeꞌl taq cheꞌ. Kakꞌamawaꞌj chi kꞌu awe ri uwaꞌl ri cheꞌ ri kape che ri ucheꞌal ri olivo.
18 do not boast over those branches. If you do, remember this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
Pune jeriꞌ, manaꞌ nimal chikiwach ri qas uqꞌabꞌ ri cheꞌ, naꞌtaj chawe chi man at taj katyoꞌw uchuqꞌabꞌ ri ukꞌaꞌmal ri cheꞌ xane are ri ukꞌaꞌmal ri cheꞌ kayoꞌw achuqꞌabꞌ at.
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”
Wine kabꞌij: Xsakꞌix bꞌik nikꞌaj uqꞌabꞌ we cheꞌ riꞌ rumal riꞌ xinnakꞌ kan in.
20 That is correct: They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
Pune qas tzij aꞌreꞌ xesakꞌix bꞌik rumal maj kikojobꞌal, at kꞌut rumal ri kojobꞌal ko at kꞌolik. Man kanaꞌ ta bꞌa nimal, xane chaxiꞌj awibꞌ.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly not spare you either.
Ri Dios we man xutoqꞌobꞌisaj kiwach ri qas uqꞌabꞌ taq ri cheꞌ, man kutoqꞌobꞌisaj ta xuqujeꞌ riꞌ awach at ri xaq at nakꞌtal koq.
22 Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
Rumal riꞌ chawila ri rutzilal xuqujeꞌ ri uqꞌatoj tzij ri Dios, ri uqꞌatoj tzij kukꞌ konojel ri xetzaqik, xuqujeꞌ ri rutzilal ri kukꞌut chawe at, we man katkꞌojiꞌ pa ri rutzilal ri Dios, katsakꞌix xuqujeꞌ na bꞌi riꞌ.
23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
Ri winaq aꞌj Israel we kakikoj ri kubꞌij ri Dios, kenakꞌ kꞌu na koq riꞌ, jeriꞌ rumal ri Dios kꞌo ukwinem rech kuꞌnakꞌ chi na koq junmul.
24 For if you were cut from a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into one that is cultivated, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
Jeriꞌ rumal we at xatsakꞌix bꞌik che jun juyubꞌil cheꞌ, awetaꞌm riꞌ chi at juyubꞌil are xatkꞌojiꞌk, xa xatnakꞌ koq che ri ucheꞌal ri olivo. Are ta kꞌu mat aninaq riꞌ kanakꞌiꞌ chi koq junmul ri uqꞌabꞌ ri cheꞌ ri qas ucheꞌal ri olivo.
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
Wachalal, kawaj kichomaj jas qas ubꞌantajik we jastaq riꞌ, rech jeriꞌ man kinaꞌ taj nimal. Nikꞌaj chike ri winaq aꞌj Israel xkowirisax ri kanimaꞌ, kakowirisax kꞌu na, kꞌa cheꞌkojon na konojel ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj.
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will remove godlessness from Jacob.
Kꞌa te riꞌ konojel ri winaq aꞌj Israel kekolotaj na, jetaq kubꞌij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: Pa Sión kape wi na ri Kolonel, Areꞌ kesan na bꞌik ri mak kech ri rijaꞌl ri Jacob.
27 And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Are waꞌ ri chomanik ri kinbꞌan na kukꞌ aꞌreꞌ we xinkuy ri kimak.
28 Regarding the gospel, they are enemies on your account; but regarding election, they are loved on account of the patriarchs.
Ri winaq aꞌj Israel kikꞌulel ri Dios xa rumal ri utz laj tzij, rech utz kubꞌan chiꞌwe ix. We kꞌu are kaqilo jachin nabꞌe xchaꞌ rumal ri Dios, kaqilo chi aꞌreꞌ e loqꞌ kumal kech ri kitat kinan.
29 For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.
Jeriꞌ rumal man kakꞌexen ta wi ri usipanik ri Dios xuqujeꞌ ri usikꞌinik.
30 Just as you who formerly disobeyed God have now received mercy through their disobedience,
Jacha ri ix, man kixniman ta che ri Dios ojer, kamik kꞌut xyaꞌtaj ri toqꞌobꞌ chiꞌwe rumal man xeniman taj aꞌreꞌ.
31 so they too have now disobeyed, in order that they too may now receive mercy through the mercy shown to you.
Are kꞌu ri man xeniman taj, rech kayaꞌtaj ri toqꞌobꞌ chiꞌwe ix, kayaꞌtaj na ri toqꞌobꞌ chike.
32 For God has consigned everyone to disobedience so that He may have mercy on everyone. (eleēsē )
Jeriꞌ rumal ri Dios xubꞌan chike chi man keniman taj, rech jeriꞌ kutoqꞌobꞌisaj na kiwach kojonel. (eleēsē )
33 O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
¡Sibꞌalaj nim ri uqꞌinomal ri retaꞌmabꞌal ri Dios, maj jun kachꞌobꞌowik! ¡Maj jun kakwinik karetaꞌmaj ri uqꞌatoj tzij, xuqujeꞌ man kabꞌan ta rajilaxik ri ubꞌe!
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?”
Jeriꞌ rumal ¿Jachin xchꞌobꞌow ri kꞌo pa ri uchomanik ri Dios? O ¿jachin xyoꞌw unoꞌj?
35 “Who has first given to God, that God should repay him?”
¿Jachin on xyoꞌw uqajanik ri Dios, kꞌa te riꞌ xtoj che?
36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen. (aiōn )
Rumal ri che Areꞌ, rumal Areꞌ, xuqujeꞌ e rech Areꞌ ronojel ri jastaq, che Areꞌ yaꞌtal wi juluwem, chibꞌe qꞌij saq. Jeriꞌ. (aiōn )
