Psalms 86

1 A prayer of David. Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

Prière de David. Prête l’oreille, Yahweh, exauce-moi, car je suis malheureux et indigent.

2 Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.

Garde mon âme, car je suis pieux; sauve ton serviteur, ô mon Dieu; il met sa confiance en toi.

3 Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long.

Aie pitié de moi, Seigneur, car je crie vers toi tout le jour.

4 Bring joy to Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

Réjouis l’âme de ton serviteur, car vers toi, Seigneur, j’élève mon âme.

5 For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving, rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.

Car tu es bon, Seigneur, et clément, et plein de compassion pour tous ceux qui t’invoquent.

6 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and attend to my plea for mercy.

Yahweh, prête l’oreille à ma prière, sois attentif à la voix de mes supplications.

7 In the day of my distress I call on You, because You answer me.

Je t’invoque au jour de ma détresse, et tu m’exauceras.

8 O Lord, there is none like You among the gods, nor any works like Yours.

Nul ne t’égale parmi les dieux, Seigneur, rien ne ressemble à tes œuvres.

9 All the nations You have made will come and bow before You, O Lord, and they will glorify Your name.

Toutes les nations que tu as faites viendront se prosterner devant toi, Seigneur, et rendre gloire à ton nom.

10 For You are great and perform wonders; You alone are God.

Car tu es grand et tu opères des prodiges; toi seul, tu es Dieu.

11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.

Enseigne-moi tes voies Yahweh; je veux marcher dans ta fidélité; attache mon cœur à la crainte de ton nom.

12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.

Je te louerai de tout mon cœur, Seigneur, mon Dieu; et je glorifierai ton nom à jamais.

13 For great is Your loving devotion to me; You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol. (Sheol h7585)

Car ta bonté est grande envers moi, tu as tiré mon âme du fond du schéol. (Sheol h7585)

14 The arrogant rise against me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, with no regard for You.

O Dieu, des orgueilleux se sont élevés contre moi, une troupe d’hommes violents en veulent à ma vie, sans tenir aucun compte de toi.

15 But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.

Mais toi, Seigneur, tu es un Dieu miséricordieux et compatissant, lent à la colère, riche en bonté et en fidélité.

16 Turn to me and have mercy; grant Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your maidservant.

Tourne vers moi tes regards et aie pitié de moi; donne ta force à ton serviteur, et sauve le fils de ta servante.

17 Show me a sign of Your goodness, that my enemies may see and be ashamed; for You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

Signale ta bonté envers moi: que mes ennemis le voient et soient confondus! Car c’est toi, Yahweh, qui m’assistes et me consoles.
