Psalms 8

1 For the choirmaster. According to Gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.

Ó Senhor, nosso Senhor, quão admiravel é o teu nome em toda a terra, pois pozeste a tua gloria sobre os céus!

2 From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger.

Tu ordenaste força da bocca das creanças e dos que mamam, por causa dos teus inimigos, para fazer calar ao inimigo e ao vingador.

3 When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place—

Quando vejo os teus céus, obra dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrellas que preparaste;

4 what is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?

Que é o homem mortal para que te lembres d'elle? e o filho do homem, para que o visites?

5 You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor.

Pois pouco menor o fizeste do que os anjos, e de gloria e de honra o coroaste.

6 You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything under his feet:

Fazes com que elle tenha dominio sobre as obras das tuas mãos; tudo pozeste debaixo de seus pés:

7 all sheep and oxen, and even the beasts of the field,

Todas as ovelhas e bois, assim como os animaes do campo,

8 the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

As aves dos céus, e os peixes do mar, e tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.

9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Ó Senhor, nosso Senhor, quão admiravel é o teu nome sobre toda a terra!
