Psalms 76

1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A song. God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.

En Psalm och visa Assaphs, på strängaspel, till att föresjunga. Gud är känd i Juda; i Israel är hans Namn härligit.

2 His tent is in Salem, His dwelling place in Zion.

I Salem är hans tjäll, och hans boning i Zion.

3 There He shattered the flaming arrows, the shield and sword and weapons of war.

Der sönderbryter han bågans pilar, sköld, svärd och strid. (Sela)

4 You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains filled with game.

Du äst härligare och mägtigare, än de röfvareberg.

5 The valiant lie plundered; they sleep their last sleep. No men of might could lift a hand.

De stolte måste beröfvade varda, och afsomna; och alle krigare måste låta händerna falla.

6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and rider lie stunned.

För ditt näpsande, Jacobs Gud, faller i sömn både vagn och häst.

7 You alone are to be feared. When You are angry, who can stand before You?

Du äst förskräckelig; ho kan för dig stå, då du vred äst?

8 From heaven You pronounced judgment, and the earth feared and was still

När du låter höra domen af himmelen, så förskräckes jorden, och varder stilla;

9 when God rose up to judge, to save all the lowly of the earth.

När Gud uppstår till att döma, på det han skall hjelpa alla elända på jordene. (Sela)

10 Even the wrath of man shall praise You; with the survivors of wrath You will clothe Yourself.

När du ena mennisko straffar, så måste man bekänna dig, att du redo äst till att straffa andra flera.

11 Make and fulfill your vows to the LORD your God; let all the neighboring lands bring tribute to Him who is to be feared.

Lofver, och håller det Herranom edrom Gud, alle I som omkring honom ären. Bärer fram skänker dem förskräckeliga;

12 He breaks the spirits of princes; He is feared by the kings of the earth.

Den der Förstomen borttager modet, och förskräckelig är ibland Konungarna på jordene.
