Psalms 76

1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A song. God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.

Zna se u Judeji za Boga, u Izrailja je veliko ime njegovo.

2 His tent is in Salem, His dwelling place in Zion.

U Salimu je stan njegov i naselje njegovo na Sionu.

3 There He shattered the flaming arrows, the shield and sword and weapons of war.

Ondje je polomio krilate strijele luku, štit i maè i rat.

4 You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains filled with game.

Ti si svijetao; divniji od gora hajduèkih.

5 The valiant lie plundered; they sleep their last sleep. No men of might could lift a hand.

Koji su junaèkog srca postaše plijen, zaspaše snom svojim, i junaci ne naðoše ruku svojih.

6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and rider lie stunned.

Od prijetnje tvoje, Bože Jakovljev, drijemlju kola i konj.

7 You alone are to be feared. When You are angry, who can stand before You?

Ti si strašan, i ko æe se održati pred licem tvojim kad se razgnjeviš?

8 From heaven You pronounced judgment, and the earth feared and was still

S neba javljaš sud; zemlja se prepada i muèi,

9 when God rose up to judge, to save all the lowly of the earth.

Kad Bog ustaje na sud, da pomože svima koji stradaju na zemlji.

10 Even the wrath of man shall praise You; with the survivors of wrath You will clothe Yourself.

I gnjev ljudski obraæa se u slavu tebi, kad se jednom opašeš gnjevom.

11 Make and fulfill your vows to the LORD your God; let all the neighboring lands bring tribute to Him who is to be feared.

Polažite i izvršujte zavjete Gospodu Bogu svojemu; svi koji ste oko njega, nosite dare strašnome.

12 He breaks the spirits of princes; He is feared by the kings of the earth.

On ukroæava duh knezovima, on je strašan carevima zemaljskim.
