Psalms 76

1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A song. God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.

聖歌隊の指揮者によって琴にあわせてうたわせたアサフの歌、さんび 神はユダに知られ、そのみ名はイスラエルにおいて偉大である。

2 His tent is in Salem, His dwelling place in Zion.

その幕屋はサレムにあり、そのすまいはシオンにある。

3 There He shattered the flaming arrows, the shield and sword and weapons of war.

かしこで神は弓の火矢を折り、盾とつるぎと戦いの武器をこわされた。 (セラ)

4 You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains filled with game.

あなたは永久の山々にまさって光栄あり、威厳がある。

5 The valiant lie plundered; they sleep their last sleep. No men of might could lift a hand.

雄々しい者はかすめられ、彼らは眠りに沈み、いくさびとは皆その手を施すことができなかった。

6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and rider lie stunned.

ヤコブの神よ、あなたのとがめによって、乗り手と馬とは深い眠りに陥った。

7 You alone are to be feared. When You are angry, who can stand before You?

しかし、あなたこそは恐るべき方である。あなたが怒りを発せられるとき、だれがみ前に立つことができよう。

8 From heaven You pronounced judgment, and the earth feared and was still

9 when God rose up to judge, to save all the lowly of the earth.

あなたは天からさばきを仰せられた。神が地のしえたげられた者を救うために、さばきに立たれたとき、地は恐れて、沈黙した。 (セラ)

10 Even the wrath of man shall praise You; with the survivors of wrath You will clothe Yourself.

まことに人の怒りはあなたをほめたたえる。怒りの余りをあなたは帯とされる。

11 Make and fulfill your vows to the LORD your God; let all the neighboring lands bring tribute to Him who is to be feared.

あなたがたの神、主に誓いを立てて、それを償え。その周囲のすべての者は恐るべき主に贈り物をささげよ。

12 He breaks the spirits of princes; He is feared by the kings of the earth.

主はもろもろの君たちのいのちを断たれる。主は地の王たちの恐るべき者である。
