Psalms 57
1 For the choirmaster. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul into the cave. Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy, for in You my soul takes refuge. In the shadow of Your wings I will take shelter until the danger has passed.
Auf den Siegesspender, ein Kunstgesang, von David, ein Weihegesang, als er vor Saul in die Höhle floh. Gott! Sei mir gnädig! Sei mir gnädig! Denn meine Seele flieht zu Dir. Ich fliehe in den Schatten Deiner Flügel, bis die Gefahr vorübergeht.
2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.
Zu Gott, dem Höchsten, rufe ich, zu Gott, der mir nur Gutes tut.
3 He reaches down from heaven and saves me; He rebukes those who trample me. (Selah) God sends forth His loving devotion and His truth.
Er sendet Hilfe mir vom Himmel, verhöhnt mich auch mein Gegner, (Sela) Gott sendet dennoch seine Huld und Treue. -
4 My soul is among the lions; I lie down with ravenous beasts— with men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Ich weile unter Löwen, bei Menschenfressern, bei Leuten, deren Zähne Spieß und Pfeile und deren Zungen scharfe Dolche.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth.
Erhebe Dich, o Gott, soweit der Himmel, und Deinen Ruhm, soweit die Erde reicht!
6 They spread a net for my feet; my soul was despondent. They dug a pit before me, but they themselves have fallen into it!
Sie stellen meinem Schritt ein Netz; doch ich umgehe es. Sie graben eine Grube mir und fallen selbst hinein. (Sela)
7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and make music.
Aus Herzensgrunde, Gott, aus Herzensgrunde sing ich und juble:
8 Awake, my glory! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
"Erwache, du mein Stolz! Wach, Harfe, auf und Zither! Ich singe wach das Morgenrot."
9 I will praise You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples.
Ich preise, Herr, Dich bei den Völkern, und ich besinge Dich bei den Nationen,
10 For Your loving devotion reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.
daß Deine Huld bis an den Himmel reicht, bis zu den Wolken Deine Treue.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth.
Erhebe Dich, o Gott, soweit der Himmel, und Deinen Ruhm, soweit die Erde reicht!
