< Psalms 49 >

1 For the choirmaster. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all inhabitants of the world,
Nangho mipite'n hichehi ngaijuvin! Nangho vannoi mite jouse'n ngaicheh uvin!
2 both low and high, rich and poor alike.
Milen le mineo, ahao avai in ngaisoh keijun!
3 My mouth will impart wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will bring understanding.
Ajeh chu kathuseiho hi chihna thu ahin, chuleh kalung'a kagel jong hi hetgilna dimset ahi.
4 I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle with the harp:
Keiman thuchih kaseiho chu giltah'in kagel'in hiti chun semjang sai a kitilkhou in thulem kaseiho suhlhap na kanei jie.
5 Why should I fear in times of trouble, when wicked usurpers surround me?
Kagalmite'n eihin umkimvel'uva boinan eihin lhunkhum teng idia kakichat ding ham?
6 They trust in their wealth and boast in their great riches.
Amahon anei agouhou atahsan un ahaotheinau a akiletsah ui.
7 No man can possibly redeem his brother or pay his ransom to God.
Ahijeng vang'in athina diuva kon'in amaho le amaho akihuhdoh joupouvin Elohim Pathen henga sum in ahinkhou akichoh thei pouve.
8 For the redemption of his soul is costly, and never can payment suffice,
Lhatdamna kitihi bailam tah a um ahipoi, ajeh chu koiman alhingset'in apejou poi;
9 that he should live on forever and not see decay.
tonsot'a hingjing a lhanmun'a chelou hel nading chu.
10 For it is clear that wise men die, and the foolish and the senseless both perish and leave their wealth to others.
Michingho chu nikhat thitei diu ahi, hiche mingol le lungel neilou ho banga anei agouhou chu adalhah cheh di'u ahi.
11 Their graves are their eternal homes— their dwellings for endless generations— even though their lands were their namesakes.
Lhanmol chu atonsot inn'u ahitan achen jingna di'u mun chu ahitai. Anei agouho'u chu amaho min putsah jong leu.
12 But a man, despite his wealth, cannot endure; he is like the beasts that perish.
Aminthan nao chu sotlou ding ganhing ho bang'a thithou thou diu ahi.
13 This is the fate of the self-confident and their followers who endorse their sayings.
Amaho hi min miching dan'in geljong leu mingol bang'a thina ato thou thou di'u ahi.
14 Like sheep they are destined for Sheol. Death will be their shepherd. The upright will rule them in the morning, and their form will decay in Sheol, far from their lofty abode. (Sheol h7585)
Kelngoiho bang'a lhanmun lhung thou thou di'u thina chu akelngoi chingpa'u hiding, anei agouhou a kon'a gamlatah'a lhanmun khat'a monlha thou thou diu ahi. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God will redeem my life from Sheol, for He will surely take me to Himself. (Sheol h7585)
Ahin keivang Elohim Pathen'in kahinkho eilhatdoh peh'in tin, Aman lhanmun'a kon'in eihuhdoh nante. (Sheol h7585)
16 Do not be amazed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases.
Hijeh chun migilou ho ahung hao uva, a in chen ujong ahung hoibe cheh tengu le lunglhadah hih in.
17 For when he dies, he will carry nothing away; his abundance will not follow him down.
Ajeh chu amaho athiteng uleh imacha akipoh di'u aumpoi anei agou'un lhan sung'ah juilut thei pouvinte.
18 Though in his lifetime he blesses his soul— and men praise you when you prosper—
Hiche lei hinkho'a hin alolhin jeh'un vangpha le ochat um'in kigel jong leu,
19 he will join the generation of his fathers, who will never see the light of day.
Chemasa ho bang bang'a thidiu khovah amukit louhel di'u ahitai.
20 A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish.
Anei agou'u kiletsahpi ho chun amaho jong ganhing bang'a phat khatleh thithou thou diu ahilam akihetdoh lou'u ahi.
