Psalms 4
1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved my distress; show me grace and hear my prayer.
Pour la fin, dans les cantiques, psaume de David. Lorsque je l’invoquais, il m’a exaucé, le Dieu de ma justice; dans la tribulation, vous m’avez mis au large. Ayez pitié de moi, et exaucez ma prière.
2 How long, O men, will my honor be maligned? How long will you love vanity and seek after lies?
Fils des hommes, jusqu’à quand aurez-vous le cœur appesanti? pourquoi aimez-vous la vanité, et cherchez-vous le mensonge?
3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for Himself; the LORD hears when I call to Him.
Sachez donc que le Seigneur a glorifié son saint: le Seigneur m’exaucera, lorsque je crierai vers lui.
4 Be angry, yet do not sin; on your bed, search your heart and be still.
Irritez-vous et ne péchez pas; et ce que vous dites en vos cœurs, repassez-le sur vos lits avec componction.
5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.
Offrez un sacrifice de justice, et espérez dans le Seigneur. Beaucoup disent: Qui nous montrera les biens qu’on nous promet?
6 Many ask, “Who can show us the good?” Shine the light of Your face upon us, O LORD.
La lumière de votre visage a été marquée sur nous, Seigneur; vous avez donné la joie à mon cœur.
7 You have filled my heart with more joy than when grain and new wine abound.
Ils ont eu en abondance le fruit de leur froment, de leur vin et de leur huile.
8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Dans la paix je m’endormirai et je reposerai tout à la fois, Parce que vous, Seigneur, vous seul m’avez établi dans l’espérance.
