Psalms 34
1 Of David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, so that the king drove him away. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
De David, lorsqu'il contrefit l'insensé en présence d'Abimélec, et que, chassé par lui, il s'éloigna. Je bénirai l'Éternel en tout temps; Sa louange sera continuellement dans ma bouche.
2 My soul boasts in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice.
Mon âme mettra sa gloire en l'Éternel; Les humbles m'entendront et ils se réjouiront.
3 Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt His name together.
Oui, glorifiez l'Éternel avec moi; Exaltons son nom tous ensemble!
4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.
J'ai recherché l'Éternel, et il m'a répondu; Il m'a affranchi de toutes mes frayeurs.
5 Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed.
Ceux qui tournent leurs yeux vers lui ont le visage rayonnant, Et ils n'ont pas à rougir de honte.
6 This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles.
Cet affligé a crié, et l'Éternel l'a exaucé: Il l'a délivré de toutes ses détresses.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them.
L'ange de l'Éternel campe autour de ceux qui le craignent, Et il les arrache au danger.
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Goûtez et voyez combien l'Éternel est bon! Heureux l'homme qui cherche en Lui son refuge!
9 Fear the LORD, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.
Craignez l'Éternel, vous ses saints; Car rien ne manque à ceux qui le craignent!
10 Young lions go lacking and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Les lionceaux connaissent la disette et la faim; Mais ceux qui recherchent l'Éternel ne manquent d'aucun bien.
11 Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Venez, enfants, écoutez-moi: Je vous enseignerai la crainte de l'Éternel.
12 Who is the man who delights in life, who desires to see good days?
Quel est l'homme qui prend plaisir à la vie. Qui souhaite de longs jours pour goûter le bonheur?
13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech.
Garde ta langue du mal, Et tes lèvres des paroles trompeuses.
14 Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Détourne-toi du mal, et fais le bien; Recherche la paix, et poursuis-la.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their cry.
Les yeux de l'Éternel sont sur les justes, Et ses oreilles sont attentives à leur cri.
16 But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.
L'Éternel tourne sa face contre ceux qui font le mal, Pour effacer de la terre leur souvenir.
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles.
Quand les justes crient, l'Éternel les exauce, Et il les délivre de toutes leurs détresses.
18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.
L'Éternel est près de ceux qui ont le coeur brisé, Et il sauve ceux dont l'âme est abattue.,
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
Le juste a des maux en grand nombre; Mais l'Éternel le délivre de tous,
20 He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
Il veille sur tous ses os; Aucun d'eux ne sera brisé.
21 Evil will slay the wicked, and the haters of the righteous will be condemned.
La méchanceté fera périr le méchant, Et ceux qui haïssent le juste recevront leur châtiment.
22 The LORD redeems His servants, and none who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
L'Éternel rachète l'âme de ses serviteurs; Et tous ceux qui cherchent en lui leur refuge Sont à l'abri du châtiment.
