< Psalms 30 >
1 A Psalm. A song for the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up and have not allowed my foes to rejoice over me.
Ko e Saame mo e Hiva ʻi he hūfia ʻae fale ʻo Tevita. Te u fakafetaʻi kiate koe, ʻE Sihova; he kuo ke hiki hake au, pea naʻe ʻikai te ke tuku ke fiefia ʻa hoku ngaahi fili kiate au.
2 O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, naʻaku tangi kiate koe, pea kuo ke fakamoʻui au.
3 O LORD, You pulled me up from Sheol; You spared me from descending into the Pit. (Sheol )
ʻE Sihova, kuo ke ʻohake hoku laumālie mei hētesi: kuo ke fakatolonga ʻeku moʻui, ke ʻoua naʻaku ʻalu hifo ki he luo. (Sheol )
4 Sing to the LORD, O you His saints, and praise His holy name.
Hiva kia Sihova, ʻakimoutolu ko ʻene kakai māʻoniʻoni, pea ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi ʻi he manatu ki heʻene māʻoniʻoni.
5 For His anger is fleeting, but His favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may stay the night, but joy comes in the morning.
He ʻoku hangē ko e kemo ʻoe mata hono houhau; ʻoku ai ʻae moʻui ʻi heʻene ʻofa: kapau ʻe ai ha tangi ʻi he pō, ʻe hoko ʻae fiefia ʻi he pongipongi.
6 In prosperity I said, “I will never be shaken.”
Pea ʻi heʻeku monūʻia naʻaku pehē, “ʻE ʻikai te u ngaueue ʻo lauikuonga.”
7 O LORD, You favored me; You made my mountain stand strong. When You hid Your face, I was dismayed.
ʻE Sihova, kuo ke fokotuʻumaʻu ʻi hoʻo ʻofa ʻae mālohi ki hoku moʻunga: naʻa ke fufū ho fofonga, pea ne u mamahi ai.
8 To You, O LORD, I called, and I begged my Lord for mercy:
Naʻaku tangi kiate koe, ʻE Sihova; pea ne u fai ʻeku kole tāumaʻu kia Sihova.
9 “What gain is there in my bloodshed, in my descent to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your faithfulness?
“Ko e hā hono ʻaonga ʻo hoku toto, ʻo kau ka ʻalu hifo ki he luo? ʻE fakafetaʻi ʻae efu kiate koe? ʻe fakahā ʻe ia hoʻo moʻoni?
10 Hear me, O LORD, and have mercy; O LORD, be my helper.”
Fanongo mai, ʻE Sihova, pea ke ʻaloʻofa mai kiate au: ʻE Sihova, ke ke hoko ko e tokoni kiate au.”
11 You turned my mourning into dancing; You peeled off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
Kuo ke liliu kiate au ʻeku tangi ko e meʻe hopohopo: kuo ke vete hoku tauangaʻa, pea fakavala ʻaki au ʻae fiefia;
12 that my heart may sing Your praises and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks forever.
Koeʻuhi ke hiva ʻaki ʻe hoku ʻelelo ʻae fakafetaʻi kiate koe, pea ʻoua naʻa longo pē. ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, te u ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kiate koe ʻo taʻengata.
