< Psalms 22 >

1 For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Doe of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from saving me, so far from my words of groaning?
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he ʻAilete-Sahala, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻE hoku ʻOtua, ʻE hoku ʻOtua, ko e hā kuo ke liʻaki ai au? Ko e hā ʻoku ke mamaʻo ai mei he tokoni kiate au, pea mei he ngaahi lea ʻo ʻeku tangi?
2 I cry out by day, O my God, but You do not answer, and by night, but I have no rest.
‌ʻE hoku ʻOtua, ʻoku ou tangi ʻi he ʻaho, ka ʻoku ʻikai te ke ongoʻi; pea ʻi he pō, ʻoku ʻikai te u longo pē.
3 Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
Ka ʻoku ke māʻoniʻoni, ʻa koe ʻoku ke maʻu ʻae ngaahi fakafetaʻi ʻo ʻIsileli.
4 In You our fathers trusted; they trusted and You delivered them.
Naʻe falala ʻa ʻemau ngaahi tamai kiate koe: naʻa nau falala, pea naʻa ke fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu.
5 They cried out to You and were set free; they trusted in You and were not disappointed.
Naʻa nau tangi kiate koe, pea naʻe fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu: naʻa nau falala kiate koe, pea naʻe ʻikai te nau mā.
6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people.
Ka ko e kelemutu au, ka ʻoku ʻikai ko e tangata: ko e manukiʻanga ʻoe tangata, ko e fehiʻanekina ʻe he kakai.
7 All who see me mock me; they sneer and shake their heads:
Ko kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku mamata kiate au ʻoku nau kata manuki kiate au: ʻoku nau fakalili honau ngutu, mo kalokalo ʻae ʻulu, mo nau pehē,
8 “He trusts in the LORD, let the LORD deliver him; let the LORD rescue him, since He delights in him.”
“Naʻa ne falala kia Sihova ke ne fakamoʻui ia: tuku ke ne fakamoʻui ia, he naʻa ne fiemālie ʻiate ia.”
9 Yet You brought me forth from the womb; You made me secure at my mother’s breast.
Ka ko koe ia naʻe toʻo au mei he manāva ʻo ʻeku faʻē: naʻa ke fakaʻamanakiʻi au ʻi heʻeku kei ʻi he huhu ʻo ʻeku faʻē.
10 From birth I was cast upon You; from my mother’s womb You have been my God.
Naʻe lī au kiate koe mei he manāva: ko hoku ʻOtua Koe talu ʻeku haʻu mei he manāva ʻo ʻeku faʻē.
11 Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.
‌ʻOua naʻa ke mamaʻo ʻiate au: he ʻoku ofi ʻae mamahi; he ʻoku ʻikai ha taha ke tokoni.
12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
Kuo kāpui au ʻe he fanga pulu tangata lahi: kuo ʻāʻi au ʻe he fanga pulu tangata mālohi mei Pesani.
13 They open their jaws against me like lions that roar and maul.
Naʻa nau fakamanga honau ngutu kiate au, ʻo hangē ko e laione fekai mo ngungulu.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are disjointed. My heart is like wax; it melts away within me.
Kuo lilingi au ʻo hangē ko e vai, pea kuo homo hoku ngaahi hui kotoa pē: kuo tatau hoku loto mo e pulu: kuo fakamolū ia ʻi hoku loto fatu.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You lay me in the dust of death.
Kuo mōmoa ʻo ʻosi hoku mālohi ʻo hangē ko e ipu kuo maumau; pea ʻoku piki maʻu hoku ʻelelo ki hoku ʻaoʻi ngutu; pea kuo ke ʻohifo au ki he efu ʻoe mate.
16 For dogs surround me; a band of evil men encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet.
He kuo kāpui au ʻe he fanga kulī: kuo ʻāʻi au ʻe he fakataha ʻoe ngaahi angakovi: naʻa nau hokaʻi hoku nima mo hoku vaʻe.
17 I can count all my bones; they stare and gloat over me.
‌ʻOku ou faʻa lau hoku hui kotoa pē: ʻoku nau mamata mo siosio pau kiate au.
18 They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.
‌ʻOku nau tufa hoku ngaahi kofu ʻiate kinautolu, mo fai ʻae talotalo ki hoku pulupulu.
19 But You, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me.
Kaeʻoua naʻa ke mamaʻo ʻiate au, ʻE Sihova: ʻE hoku mālohi, ke ke fakatoʻotoʻo ke tokoni au.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of wild dogs.
Fakamoʻui hoku laumālie mei he heletā; mo ʻeku moʻui mei he mālohi ʻoe kulī.
21 Save me from the mouth of the lion; at the horns of the wild oxen You have answered me!
Fakamoʻui au mei he ngutu ʻoe laione: he kuo ke ongoʻi au mei he ngaahi nifo ʻoe fanga liimi.
22 I will proclaim Your name to my brothers; I will praise You in the assembly.
Te u fakahā ho huafa ki hoku ngaahi kāinga: ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe fakataha te u fakafetaʻi kiate koe.
23 You who fear the LORD, praise Him! All descendants of Jacob, honor Him! All offspring of Israel, revere Him!
“ʻAkimoutolu ʻoku manavahē kia Sihova, fakafetaʻi kiate ia; fakaʻapaʻapa kiate ia ʻakimoutolu ko e hako ʻo Sēkope; pea manavahē kiate ia, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ko e hako ʻo ʻIsileli.
24 For He has not despised or detested the torment of the afflicted. He has not hidden His face from him, but has attended to his cry for help.
He naʻe ʻikai te ne manuki pe fehiʻa ki he mamahi ʻoe mamahiʻia; pea naʻe ʻikai te ne fufū hono fofonga ʻiate ia; ka ʻi heʻene tangi kiate ia naʻa ne ongoʻi.”
25 My praise for You resounds in the great assembly; I will fulfill my vows before those who fear You.
‌ʻE ʻiate koe pe ʻeku fakafetaʻi ʻi he fakataha lahi: te u fakamoʻoni ʻeku ngaahi fuakava ʻi he ʻao ʻokinautolu ʻoku manavahē kiate ia.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD will praise Him. May your hearts live forever!
‌ʻE kai ʻe he angamalū ke mākona; ʻe fakafetaʻi kia Sihova ʻakinautolu ʻoku kumi kiate ia: ʻe moʻui taʻengata homou laumālie.
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD. All the families of the nations will bow down before Him.
‌ʻE manatu mo tafoki kia Sihova ʻae ngaahi ngataʻanga kotoa pē ʻo māmani: pea ʻe lotu ʻi ho ʻao ʻae ngaahi faʻahinga kotoa pē ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga.
28 For dominion belongs to the LORD and He rules over the nations.
He ʻoku ʻo Sihova ʻae puleʻanga; pea ko e pule ia ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga.
29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before Him— even those unable to preserve their lives.
Ko kinautolu ʻoku sino ʻi māmani te nau kai mo lotu: ʻe punou ʻi hono ʻao ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻalu hifo ki he efu: pea ʻoku ʻikai ha taha te ne faʻa fakamoʻui hono laumālie ʻoʻona.
30 Posterity will serve Him; they will declare the Lord to a new generation.
‌ʻE tauhi ia ʻe ha hako; pea ʻe lau ia ko e toʻutangata kia Sihova,
31 They will come and proclaim His righteousness to a people yet unborn— all that He has done.
Te nau haʻu, ʻo fakahā ʻene māʻoniʻoni ki ha kakai ʻe fanauʻi, “Kuo fai ʻe ia ʻae meʻa ni.”
