Psalms 2

1 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?

١ لِمَاذَا ضَجَّتِ الأُمَمُ؟ وَلِمَاذَا تَتَآمَرُ الشُّعُوبُ بَاطِلاً

2 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together, against the LORD and against His Anointed One:

٢ اجْتَمَعَ مُلُوكُ الأَرْضِ وَرُؤَسَاؤُهَا، وَتَحَالَفُوا لِيُقَاوِمُوا الرَّبَّ وَمَسِيحَهُ، قَائِلِينَ:

3 “Let us break Their chains and cast away Their cords.”

٣ «لِنُحَطِّمْ عَنَّا قُيُودَهُمَا، وَنَتَحَرَّرْ مِنْ نِيرِ عُبُودِيَّتِهِمَا».

4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord taunts them.

٤ لَكِنَّ الْجَالِسَ عَلَى عَرْشِهِ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ يَضْحَكُ. الرَّبُّ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ.

5 Then He rebukes them in His anger, and terrifies them in His fury:

٥ عِنْدَئِذٍ يُنْذِرُهُمْ فِي حُمُوِّ غَضَبِهِ، وَيُرَوِّعُهُمْ بِشِدَّةِ سَخَطِهِ،

6 “I have installed My King on Zion, upon My holy mountain.”

٦ قَائِلاً: «أَمَّا أَنَا فَقَدْ مَسَحْتُ مَلِكِي، وَأَجْلَسْتُهُ عَلَى صِهْيَوْنَ، جَبَلِي الْمُقَدَّسِ».

7 I will proclaim the decree spoken to Me by the LORD: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.

٧ وَهَا أَنَا أُعْلِنُ مَا قَضَى بِهِ الرَّبُّ: قَالَ لِيَ الرَّبُّ: «أَنْتَ ابْنِي، أَنَا اليَوْمَ وَلَدْتُكَ.

8 Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.

٨ اطْلُبْ مِنِّي فَأُعْطِيَكَ الأُمَمَ مِيرَاثاً، وَأَقَاصِيَ الأَرْضِ مُلْكاً لَكَ.

9 You will break them with an iron scepter; You will shatter them like pottery.”

٩ فَتُكَسِّرَهُمْ بِقَضِيبٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، وَتُحَطِّمَهُمْ كَآنِيَةِ الْفَخَّارِ».

10 Therefore be wise, O kings; be admonished, O judges of the earth.

١٠ وَالآنَ تَعَقَّلُوا أَيُّهَا الْمُلُوكُ، وَاحْذَرُوا يَا حُكَّامَ الأَرْضِ.

11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

١١ اعْبُدُوا الرَّبَّ بِخَوْفٍ، وَابْتَهِجُوا بِرِعْدَةٍ.

12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in your rebellion, when His wrath ignites in an instant. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.

١٢ قَبِّلُوا الابْنَ لِئَلّا يَغْضَبَ، فَتَهْلِكُوا فِي الطَّرِيقِ، لِئَلّا يَتَوَهَّجَ غَضَبُهُ سَرِيعاً. طُوبَى لِجَمِيعِ الْمُتَّكِلِينَ عَلَيْهِ.
