Psalms 16
1 A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
Ein Gedicht von David. / Behüte mich, Gott, denn ich fliehe zu dir!
2 I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
Ich spreche zu Jahwe: "Mein Herr bist du, / Du bist mein höchstes Gut."
3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
Und zu den Heiligen, die im Lande sind, (sag ich): / "Das sind die Herrlichen, an ihnen hab ich meine Lust."
4 Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
Viel Qualen warten derer, die andern Göttern dienen. / Nicht will ich ihre Blut-Trankopfer spenden / Noch ihre Namen auf meine Lippen nehmen.
5 The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
Jahwe ist mein Erbteil und mein Becher, / Du bewahrst mein Los.
6 The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
Ich empfing mein Teil in lieblichem Lande, / Ein solches Erbe gefällt mir wohl.
7 I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
Ich preise Jahwe, der mich beraten, / Auch des Nachts mahnt mich dazu mein Gewissen.
8 I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Ich halte mir Jahwe beständig vor Augen. / Ist er mir zur Rechten, so wanke ich nicht.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
Drum freut sich mein Herz und frohlockt meine Seele, / Auch mein Leib ist sicher geborgen.
10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. (Sheol h7585)
Denn du gibst meine Seele dem Tode nicht preis. / Du läßt deinen Frommen das Grab nicht schaun. (Sheol h7585)
11 You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
Du wirst mir zeigen den Lebenspfad: / Vor deinem Antlitz ist Fülle an Freuden, / In deiner rechten sind ewige Wonnen.
