Psalms 16
1 A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
Poème de David. Garde-moi, ô Dieu; car je cherche en toi mon refuge.
2 I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
J'ai dit à l'Éternel: «Tu es le Seigneur; Toi seul, tu es mon bien suprême!»
3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
Et j'ai dit aux saints qui sont dans le pays: «Vous êtes les nobles âmes en qui je prends tout mon plaisir.»
4 Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
Les douleurs se multiplient Pour ceux qui courent après d'autres dieux. Je n'offrirai pas leurs libations de sang, Et les noms qu'ils invoquent ne seront pas sur mes lèvres.
5 The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
L'Éternel est ma part et mon breuvage: C'est lui qui me garde mon lot.
6 The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
Ma portion m'est échue dans des lieux agréables; Oui, j'ai un bel héritage!
7 I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
Je bénirai l'Éternel, qui est mon conseiller: Mon coeur m'y invite, même pendant la nuit.
8 I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
J'ai l'Éternel constamment présent devant moi: Puisqu'il est à ma droite, je ne serai point ébranlé.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
C'est pourquoi mon coeur se réjouit, Et mon âme tressaille de joie; Mon corps même reposera en toute sécurité.
10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. (Sheol h7585)
Car tu n'abandonneras pas mon âme dans le Séjour des morts. Tu ne permettras pas que celui qui t'aime voie la corruption. (Sheol h7585)
11 You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
Tu me feras connaître le chemin de la vie. L'âme est rassasiée de joie en ta présence; Il y a des délices à ta droite, pour toujours!
