Psalms 147
1 Hallelujah! How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and lovely to praise Him!
Louvae ao Senhor, porque é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus, porque é agradavel; decoroso é o louvor.
2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel.
O Senhor edifica a Jerusalem, congrega os dispersos de Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Sara os quebrantados de coração, e lhes ata as suas feridas.
4 He determines the number of the stars; He calls them each by name.
Conta o numero das estrellas, chama-as a todas pelos seus nomes.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.
Grande é o nosso Senhor, e de grande poder; o seu entendimento é infinito.
6 The LORD sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to the ground.
O Senhor eleva os humildes, e abate os impios até á terra.
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music on the harp to our God,
Cantae ao Senhor em acção de graça; cantae louvores ao nosso Deus sobre a harpa.
8 who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the hills.
Elle é o que cobre o céu de nuvens, o que prepara a chuva para a terra, e o que faz produzir herva sobre os montes.
9 He provides food for the animals, and for the young ravens when they call.
O que dá aos animaes o seu sustento, e aos filhos dos corvos, quando clamam.
10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legpower of the man.
Não se deleita na força do cavallo, nem se compraz nas pernas do varão.
11 The LORD is pleased with those who fear Him, who hope in His loving devotion.
O Senhor se agrada dos que o temem e dos que esperam na sua misericordia.
12 Exalt the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion!
Louva, ó Jerusalem, ao Senhor; louva, ó Sião, ao teu Deus.
13 For He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses the children within you.
Porque fortaleceu os ferrolhos das tuas portas; abençôa aos teus filhos dentro de ti.
14 He makes peace at your borders; He fills you with the finest wheat.
Elle é o que põe em paz os teus termos, e da flôr da farinha te farta.
15 He sends forth His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.
O que envia o seu mandamento á terra, a sua palavra corre velozmente.
16 He spreads the snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes;
O que dá a neve como lã, esparge a geada como cinza.
17 He casts forth His hail like pebbles. Who can withstand His icy blast?
O que lança o seu gelo em pedaços; quem pode resistir ao seu frio?
18 He sends forth His word and melts them; He unleashes His winds, and the waters flow.
Manda a sua palavra, e os faz derreter; faz soprar o vento, e correm as aguas.
19 He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.
Mostra a sua palavra a Jacob, os seus estatutos e os seus juizos a Israel.
20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!
Não fez assim a nenhuma outra nação; e, emquanto aos seus juizos, não os conhecem. Louvae ao Senhor.
