Psalms 147
1 Hallelujah! How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and lovely to praise Him!
Rühmet Jah, denn er ist gütig; lobsingt unserem Gott, denn er ist lieblich; es ziemt sich Lobgesang.
2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel.
Jahwe baut Jerusalem wieder auf, er sammelt die Versprengten Israels.
3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Er heilt, die zerbrochenes Herzens sind, und verbindet ihre Wunden.
4 He determines the number of the stars; He calls them each by name.
Er bestimmt den Sternen eine Zahl, er ruft sie alle mit Namen.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.
Groß ist unser Herr und reich an Macht; seine Einsicht ist ohne Maß.
6 The LORD sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to the ground.
Jahwe hält die Gebeugten aufrecht, erniedrigt die Gottlosen bis auf den Boden.
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music on the harp to our God,
Singt Jahwe mit Danksagung, lobsingt unserem Gott auf der Zither!
8 who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the hills.
Der den Himmel mit Wolken bedeckt, der Erde Regen bereitet, die Berge Gras sprossen läßt,
9 He provides food for the animals, and for the young ravens when they call.
der dem Vieh sein Futter giebt, den jungen Raben, die zu ihm schreien.
10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legpower of the man.
Er hat nicht Lust an der Stärke des Rosses, noch an den Schenkeln des Mannes Gefallen.
11 The LORD is pleased with those who fear Him, who hope in His loving devotion.
Jahwe hat Gefallen an denen, die ihn fürchten, die auf seine Gnade harren.
12 Exalt the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion!
Preise Jahwe, Jerusalem; rühme deinen Gott, o Zion!
13 For He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses the children within you.
Denn er hat die Riegel deiner Thore fest gemacht, deine Kinder in dir gesegnet.
14 He makes peace at your borders; He fills you with the finest wheat.
Er schafft deinen Grenzen Frieden, sättigt dich mit dem besten Weizen.
15 He sends forth His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.
Er sendet sein Gebot auf Erden; gar schnell läuft sein Wort.
16 He spreads the snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes;
Er spendet Schnee wie Wolle, streut Reif wie Asche.
17 He casts forth His hail like pebbles. Who can withstand His icy blast?
Er wirft sein Eis wie Bissen hin; wer kann vor seinem Froste bestehen?
18 He sends forth His word and melts them; He unleashes His winds, and the waters flow.
Er entsendet sein Wort und läßt sie schmelzen, läßt seinen Wind wehen, da rinnen Wasser.
19 He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.
Er that Jakob sein Wort kund, Israel seine Satzungen und Rechte.
20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!
Keinem Volk hat er also gethan und seine Rechte lehrte er sie nicht. Rühmet Jah!
