< Psalms 139 >
1 For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻE Sihova, naʻa ke ʻahiʻahiʻi au, pea kuo ke ʻiloʻi au.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; You understand my thoughts from afar.
ʻOku ke ʻiloʻi ʻeku nofo hifo mo ʻeku tuʻu hake, ʻoku ke ʻiloʻi ʻeku ngaahi mahalo ʻoku kei mamaʻo.
3 You search out my path and my lying down; You are aware of all my ways.
ʻOku ke ʻāʻi hoku hala mo hoku tokotoʻanga, pea ʻoku ke ʻiloʻi hoku hala kotoa pē.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, O LORD.
He ʻoku ʻikai ha lea ʻi hoku ʻelelo, ka ko koe, ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ke ʻiloʻi kotoa pē.
5 You hem me in behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me.
Naʻa ke kāpui au ʻi hoku tuʻa mo hoku ʻao, ʻo ke hilifaki ho nima kiate au.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Ko e ʻilo pehē ʻoku fakaofo lahi kiate au; ʻoku māʻolunga ia, ʻoku ʻikai te u faʻa lavaʻi ia.
7 Where can I go to escape Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence?
Te u ʻalu ki fē mei ho Laumālie? Pe te u hola ki fē mei ho ʻao?
8 If I ascend to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there. (Sheol )
Kapau te u ʻalu hake ki he loto langi, ʻoku ke ʻi ai: kapau te u ngaohi hoku mohenga ʻi heli, vakai, ʻoku ke ʻi ai. (Sheol )
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle by the farthest sea,
Kapau te u toʻo mai ʻae ngaahi kapakau ʻoe pongipongi, pea nofo ʻi he ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻoe tahi;
10 even there Your hand will guide me; Your right hand will hold me fast.
ʻE tataki foki au ʻe ho nima ʻi ai, pea ko ho nima toʻomataʻu te ne puke au.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light become night around me”—
Kapau te u pehē, Ko e moʻoni ʻe ʻufiʻufi au ʻe he poʻuli; ʻe hoko ʻae pō foki ko e maama ʻo takatakai ʻiate au.
12 even the darkness is not dark to You, but the night shines like the day, for darkness is as light to You.
ʻIo, ʻoku ʻikai fakafufū meiate koe ʻe he poʻuli, ka ʻoku malama ʻae pō ʻo hangē ko e ʻaho: ko e poʻuli mo e maama ʻoku na tatau pe kiate koe.
13 For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
He kuo ke maʻu hoku kongaloto: naʻa ke ʻufiʻufi au ʻi he manāva ʻo ʻeku faʻē.
14 I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
Te u fakamālō kiate koe; he ʻoku fakamanavahē mo fakaofo hoku ngaohi: ʻoku fakaofo hoʻo ngaahi ngāue; pea ʻoku ʻilo pau ki ai ʻe hoku laumālie.
15 My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Naʻe ʻikai fufū ʻa hoku sino meiate koe, ʻi he ngaohi au ʻi he lilo, mo teuteu lelei au ʻi he ngaahi potu māʻulalo ʻoe fonua.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God, how vast is their sum!
ʻE ʻOtua, hono ʻikai mahuʻinga ʻa hoʻo ngaahi fakakaukau kiate au! ʻOku fēfē nai hono lahi ʻo ia!
18 If I were to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand; and when I awake, I am still with You.
Kapau te u lau ia, ʻoku lahi hake hono lau ʻi he ʻoneʻone: ʻo kau ka ʻā hake ʻoku ou kei ʻiate koe.
19 O God, that You would slay the wicked— away from me, you bloodthirsty men—
ʻE ʻOtua, ko e moʻoni te ke tāmateʻi ʻae angahala: ko ia mou ʻalu ʻiate au, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau tangata pani toto.
20 who speak of You deceitfully; Your enemies take Your name in vain.
He ʻoku nau lea kovi ʻi he angatuʻu kiate koe, pea ko ho ngaahi fili ʻoku nau takuanoa [ho huafa].
21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O LORD, and detest those who rise against You?
ʻE Sihova, ʻikai ʻoku ou fehiʻa kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau fehiʻa kiate koe? Pea ʻikai ʻoku ou mamahi ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku nau tuʻu hake ʻo angatuʻu kiate koe?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them as my enemies.
ʻOku ou fehiʻa kiate kinautolu ʻaki ʻae fehiʻa ʻaupito: ʻoku ou lau ʻakinautolu ko hoku ngaahi fili.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns.
ʻE ʻOtua, ʻafioʻi au, pea ke ʻiloʻi hoku loto: ʻahiʻahiʻi au, mo ke ʻiloʻi ʻeku ngaahi mahalo:
24 See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the way everlasting.
Pea ke vakai pe ʻoku ai ha hala kovi ʻiate au, pea ke tataki au ʻi he hala taʻengata.
