Psalms 138

1 Of David. I give You thanks with all my heart; before the gods I sing Your praises.

Dari Daud. Aku hendak bersyukur kepada-Mu dengan segenap hatiku, di hadapan para allah aku akan bermazmur bagi-Mu.

2 I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness; You have exalted Your name and Your word above all else.

Aku hendak sujud ke arah bait-Mu yang kudus dan memuji nama-Mu, oleh karena kasih-Mu dan oleh karena setia-Mu; sebab Kaubuat nama-Mu dan janji-Mu melebihi segala sesuatu.

3 On the day I called, You answered me; You emboldened me and strengthened my soul.

Pada hari aku berseru, Engkaupun menjawab aku, Engkau menambahkan kekuatan dalam jiwaku.

4 All the kings of the earth will give You thanks, O LORD, when they hear the words of Your mouth.

Semua raja di bumi akan bersyukur kepada-Mu, ya TUHAN, sebab mereka mendengar janji dari mulut-Mu;

5 They will sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.

mereka akan menyanyi tentang jalan-jalan TUHAN, sebab besar kemuliaan TUHAN.

6 Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.

TUHAN itu tinggi, namun Ia melihat orang yang hina, dan mengenal orang yang sombong dari jauh.

7 If I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve me from the anger of my foes; You extend Your hand, and Your right hand saves me.

Jika aku berada dalam kesesakan, Engkau mempertahankan hidupku; terhadap amarah musuhku Engkau mengulurkan tangan-Mu, dan tangan kanan-Mu menyelamatkan aku.

8 The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. O LORD, Your loving devotion endures forever— do not abandon the works of Your hands.

TUHAN akan menyelesaikannya bagiku! Ya TUHAN, kasih setia-Mu untuk selama-lamanya; janganlah Kautinggalkan perbuatan tangan-Mu!
