< Psalms 137 >
1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion.
Babilonia tɔsisiwo toe míenɔ, hɛnɔ avi fam, esi míeɖo ŋku Zion dzi.
2 There on the willows we hung our harps,
Míetsɔ míaƒe kasaŋkuwo ku amuti siwo le afi ma,
3 for there our captors requested a song; our tormentors demanded songs of joy: “Sing us a song of Zion.”
elabena afi mae ame siwo ɖe aboyo mí la bia ha tso mía si le; ame siwo wɔ fu mí la bia dzidzɔhawo tso mía si hegblɔ be, “Midzi Zion hawo dometɔ ɖeka na mí!”
4 How can we sing a song of the LORD in a foreign land?
Aleke miadzi Yehowa ƒe hawo le dzronyigba dzi?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand cease to function.
O! Yerusalem, ne meŋlɔ wò be la, nye nuɖusibɔ nèŋlɔ eƒe ŋusẽ be,
6 May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem as my greatest joy!
eye nye aɖe nelé ɖe nye nu me, ne nyemeɖo ŋku dziwò o, ne nyemebu Yerusalem, nye dzidzɔ kɔkɔtɔ kekeake o.
7 Remember, O LORD, the sons of Edom on the day Jerusalem fell: “Destroy it,” they said, “tear it down to its foundations!”
O! Yehowa, ɖo ŋku nu si Edomtɔwo wɔ la dzi, gbe si gbe wogbã Yerusalem. Wodo ɣli be, “Mimui ƒu anyi, migbãe, va se ɖe eƒe gɔmeɖokpewo dzi ke!”
8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, blessed is he who repays you as you have done to us.
O! Babilonia vinyɔnu, woɖo wò ɖi na tsɔtsrɔ̃, woayra ame si aɖo nu si nèwɔ mí la teƒe na wò,
9 Blessed is he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
ame si alé wò vidzĩwo axlã ɖe agakpewo.
