< Psalms 114 >
1 When Israel departed from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
Nígbà tí Israẹli jáde ní Ejibiti, ilé Jakọbu láti inú ènìyàn àjèjì èdè
2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.
Juda wà ní ibi mímọ́, Israẹli wà ní ìjọba.
3 The sea observed and fled; the Jordan turned back;
Òkun sì rí i, ó sì wárìrì: Jordani sì padà sẹ́yìn.
4 the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
Àwọn òkè ńlá ń fò bí àgbò àti òkè kéékèèké bí ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn.
5 Why was it, O sea, that you fled, O Jordan, that you turned back,
Kí ni ó ṣe ọ́, ìwọ Òkun, tí ìwọ fi wárìrì? Ìwọ Jordani, tí ìwọ fi padà sẹ́yìn?
6 O mountains, that you skipped like rams, O hills, like lambs?
Ẹ̀yin òkè ńlá kí ló dé ti ẹ fi ń fò bí àgbò, àti ẹ̀yin òkè kéékèèké bí ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
Wárìrì, ìwọ ilẹ̀, níwájú Olúwa; ní iwájú Ọlọ́run Jakọbu
8 who turned the rock into a pool, the flint into a fountain of water!
tí ó sọ àpáta di adágún omi, àti òkúta-ìbọn di orísun omi.
