< Psalms 114 >

1 When Israel departed from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
‌ʻI he ʻalu atu ʻa ʻIsileli mei ʻIsipite, ko e fale ʻo Sēkope mei he kakai ʻoe lea kehe;
2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.
Ko hono faletapu ʻa Siuta, mo hono puleʻanga ʻa ʻIsileli.
3 The sea observed and fled; the Jordan turned back;
Naʻe mamata ki ai ʻae tahi, pea hola ai: naʻe tekeʻi atu ʻo fakaholomui ʻa Sioatani.
4 the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
Naʻe hopohopo ʻae ngaahi moʻunga ʻo hangē ko e fanga sipitangata, mo e ngaahi foʻi moʻunga ʻo hangē ko e fanga lami.
5 Why was it, O sea, that you fled, O Jordan, that you turned back,
Ko e hā naʻe hoko kiate koe, ʻa koe ko e tahi, koeʻuhi naʻa ke hola ai? ʻA koe Sioatani, koeʻuhi ke tekeʻi atu ʻo fakaholomui koe?
6 O mountains, that you skipped like rams, O hills, like lambs?
‌ʻAe ngaahi moʻunga, koeʻuhi naʻa mou hopohopo ai ʻo hangē ko e fanga sipitangata; mo kimoutolu ʻae ngaahi foʻi moʻunga, ʻo hangē ko e fanga lami?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
‌ʻA koe ko māmani, ke ke tetetete ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻEiki, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope;
8 who turned the rock into a pool, the flint into a fountain of water!
‌ʻAia naʻa ne liliu ʻae maka ko e anovai, mo e maka afi ko e matavai.
