< Psalms 114 >
1 When Israel departed from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
Mgbe ụmụ Izrel si nʼala Ijipt pụta, mgbe ezinaụlọ Jekọb sitekwara nʼebe ndị asụsụ ha dị iche pụta,
2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.
Juda ghọrọ ebe nsọ Chineke, Izrel ghọrọ ala ọ na-achị.
3 The sea observed and fled; the Jordan turned back;
Osimiri hụrụ ya, gbaa ọsọ, osimiri Jọdan hụkwara ya chigharịa laa azụ;
4 the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
Ugwu ukwu niile wụliri elu dịka ebule; ugwu nta niile wụlikwara elu dịka ụmụ atụrụ.
5 Why was it, O sea, that you fled, O Jordan, that you turned back,
Gịnị mere gị oke osimiri, i ji na-agba ọsọ? Osimiri Jọdan, gịnị na-eme gị i ji chigharịa laa azụ?
6 O mountains, that you skipped like rams, O hills, like lambs?
Gịnị na-eme unu, ugwu ukwu niile unu ji na-awụli elu dịka ụmụ ebule? Gịnị na-emekwa unu, ugwu nta niile, unu ji na-awụli elu dịka ụmụ atụrụ?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
Ka ụwa niile maa jijiji nʼihu Onyenwe anyị, ka ọ maakwa jijiji nʼihu Chineke nke Jekọb,
8 who turned the rock into a pool, the flint into a fountain of water!
onye mere ka oke nkume ghọọ ọdọ mmiri, onye mere ka ọmụ nkume ghọọ isi iyi mmiri.
