< Psalms 108 >
1 A song. A Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my being.
A Song [or] Psalm of David. O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
2 Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
Awake, psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake early.
3 I will praise You, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples.
I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises to thee among the nations.
4 For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
For thy mercy [is] great above the heavens: and thy truth [reacheth] to the clouds.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;
6 Respond and save us with Your right hand, that Your beloved may be delivered.
That thy beloved may be delivered: save [with] thy right hand, and answer me.
7 God has spoken from His sanctuary: “I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem and apportion the Valley of Succoth.
God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Succoth.
8 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is My helmet, Judah is My scepter.
Gilead [is] mine; Manasseh [is] mine; Ephraim also [is] the strength of my head; Judah [is] my lawgiver;
9 Moab is My washbasin; upon Edom I toss My sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”
Moab [is] my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.
10 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Who will bring me into the strong city: who will lead me into Edom?
11 Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies?
[Wilt] not [thou], O God, [who] hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our armies?
12 Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.
Give us help from trouble: for vain [is] the help of man.
13 With God we will perform with valor, and He will trample our enemies.
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he will tread down our enemies.
