Psalms 101

1 A Psalm of David. I will sing of Your loving devotion and justice; to You, O LORD, I will sing praises.

De David. Psaume. Je veux chanter la bonté et la justice: à toi, Eternel, j’adresse mon cantique.

2 I will ponder the way that is blameless— when will You come to me? I will walk in my house with integrity of heart.

Je veux m’appliquer à reconnaître le droit chemin (quand viendras-tu à moi?) suivre la droiture de mon cœur dans l’enceinte de ma maison.

3 I will set no worthless thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.

Je ne tolérerai, sous mes yeux, rien d’indigne, je déteste les agissements des pervers: rien de commun entre eux et moi!

4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know nothing of evil.

Tout cœur astucieux doit rester loin de moi; le mal, je ne veux pas le connaître.

5 Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; the one with haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not endure.

Quiconque, dans l’ombre, calomnie son prochain, je l’anéantirai. Des yeux hautains et un cœur enflé d’orgueil, je ne puis les supporter.

6 My eyes favor the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way of integrity shall minister to me.

J’Ai les regards tournés vers les hommes loyaux du pays, pour les faire demeurer avec moi; celui qui suit le droit chemin, je l’attacherai à mon service.

7 No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who tells lies shall stand in my presence.

Mais personne ne séjournera dans ma maison, qui agit avec fourberie; celui qui débite des mensonges ne subsistera pas devant mes yeux.

8 Every morning I will remove all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.

Chaque matin, j’extirperai tous les impies du pays, afin de faire disparaître de la cité divine tous les artisans d’iniquité.
