Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.

Wohl dem, der nicht wandelt im Rat der Gottlosen, noch tritt auf den Weg der Sünder, noch sitzt, da die Spötter sitzen,

2 But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.

sondern hat Lust zum Gesetz des HERRN und redet von seinem Gesetz Tag und Nacht.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.

Der ist wie ein Baum, gepflanzet an den Wasserbächen, der seine Frucht bringet zu seiner Zeit, und seine Blätter verwelken nicht, und was er macht, das gerät wohl.

4 Not so the wicked! For they are like chaff driven off by the wind.

Aber so sind die Gottlosen nicht, sondern wie Spreu, die der Wind verstreuet.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Darum bleiben die Gottlosen nicht im Gerichte, noch die Sünder in der Gemeine der Gerechten.

6 For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Denn der HERR kennet den Weg der Gerechten, aber der Gottlosen Weg vergehet.
