Proverbs 8
1 Does not wisdom call out, and understanding raise her voice?
¿No clama la sabiduría, Y el entendimiento hace oír su voz?
2 On the heights overlooking the road, at the crossroads she takes her stand.
En las cimas de las alturas junto al camino, En las encrucijadas de los senderos, allí está ella.
3 Beside the gates to the city, at the entrances she cries out:
Junto a las puertas, en la entrada de la ciudad, En el acceso a las puertas, ella da voces:
4 “To you, O men, I call out, and my cry is to the sons of men.
¡Oh hombres, a ustedes clamo! Mi voz se dirige a los hijos de los hombres.
5 O simple ones, learn to be shrewd; O fools, gain understanding.
Oh simples, aprendan prudencia. Y ustedes, insensatos, dispongan su corazón.
6 Listen, for I speak of noble things, and the opening of my lips will reveal right.
Escuchen, porque diré cosas excelentes, Y abriré mis labios para cosas rectas.
7 For my mouth will speak the truth, and wickedness is detestable to my lips.
Mi boca pronunciará verdad. La maldad es repugnancia para mis labios.
8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; none are crooked or perverse.
Todas las palabras de mi boca son con justicia. En ellas nada hay torcido o perverso.
9 They are all plain to the discerning, and upright to those who find knowledge.
Son claras para el que entiende Y rectas para los que hallan el conocimiento.
10 Receive my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold.
Reciban mi enseñanza y no plata, Conocimiento, mejor que oro fino.
11 For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with her.
Pues mejor es la sabiduría que las perlas. Nada de lo que desees podrá compararse con ella.
12 I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.
Yo, la sabiduría, moro con la prudencia, Y descubro el conocimiento y la discreción.
13 To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech.
El temor a Yavé es aborrecer el mal. Aborrezco la soberbia, la arrogancia, el mal camino y la boca perversa.
14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight and strength.
Mío es el consejo y la eficiente sabiduría. Mía es la inteligencia y mía la valentía.
15 By me kings reign, and rulers enact just laws;
Por mí reinan los reyes, Y los magistrados administran justicia.
16 By me princes rule, and all nobles who govern justly.
Por mí gobiernan los príncipes Y los nobles que juzgan la tierra.
17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.
Yo amo a los que me aman. Me hallan los que temprano me buscan.
18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and righteousness.
Las riquezas y la honra están conmigo, Riquezas y justicia perdurables.
19 My fruit is better than gold, pure gold, and my harvest surpasses choice silver.
Mi fruto es mejor que el oro, Aun que el oro puro, Y mi ganancia mejor que la plata escogida.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,
Yo ando por camino de justicia, Por los senderos de equidad,
21 bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
Para hacer que los que me aman obtengan su heredad. Y para que yo llene sus tesoros.
22 The LORD created me as His first course, before His works of old.
Yavé me poseía en el principio, Ya de antiguo, antes de sus obras.
23 From everlasting I was established, from the beginning, before the earth began.
Eternamente estaba establecida, Antes de haber tierra.
24 When there were no watery depths, I was brought forth, when no springs were overflowing with water.
Nací antes que existieran los océanos, Antes que existieran las fuentes de muchas aguas.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,
Antes que las montañas fueran fundadas, Antes de las colinas, fui yo engendrada.
26 before He made the land or fields, or any of the dust of the earth.
Cuando Él no había hecho la tierra, ni los campos, Ni el primer polvo del mundo.
27 I was there when He established the heavens, when He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,
Cuando estableció los cielos, allí estaba yo. Cuando trazó el horizonte sobre la superficie del océano,
28 when He established the clouds above, when the fountains of the deep gushed forth,
Cuando afirmó los cielos arriba, Cuando afirmó las fuentes del océano,
29 when He set a boundary for the sea, so that the waters would not surpass His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth.
Cuando señaló al mar su estatuto, Para que las aguas no traspasaran su mandato, Cuando estableció los fundamentos de la tierra,
30 Then I was a skilled craftsman at His side, and His delight day by day, rejoicing always in His presence.
Yo estaba junto a Él como arquitecto. Diariamente era su deleite. Me regocijaba ante Él siempre.
31 I was rejoicing in His whole world, delighting together in the sons of men.
Me regocijaba en su tierra habitada, Y tenía mi deleite con los hijos de los hombres.
32 Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
Ahora pues, hijos, escúchenme. Inmensamente felices los que guardan mis caminos.
33 Listen to instruction and be wise; do not ignore it.
Atiendan la instrucción, sean sabios Y no la menosprecien.
34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at the posts of my doorway.
¡Inmensamente feliz es el hombre que me escucha, Que vigila en mis portones cada día, Que espera en el umbral de mis entradas!
35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains the favor of the LORD.
Porque el que me halla, Halla la vida y alcanza el favor de Yavé.
36 But he who fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death.”
Pero el que peca contra mí, defrauda su propia alma. Todos los que me aborrecen aman la muerte.
