Proverbs 5
1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom; incline your ear to my insight,
হে আমার বাছা, আমার প্রজ্ঞায় মনোযোগ দাও, আমার দূরদর্শী কথাবার্তায় কর্ণপাত করো,
2 that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.
যেন তুমি বিচক্ষণতা বজায় রাখতে পারো ও তোমার ঠোঁট যেন জ্ঞান অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখে।
3 Though the lips of the forbidden woman drip honey and her speech is smoother than oil,
কারণ ব্যভিচারিণীর ঠোঁট থেকে মধু ঝরে, ও তার কথাবার্তা তেলের চেয়েও মসৃণ;
4 in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a double-edged sword.
কিন্তু শেষে দেখা যায় সে পিত্তের মতো তেতো, দুদিকে ধারবিশিষ্ট তরোয়ালের মতো ধারালো।
তার পা মৃত্যুর দিকে নেমে যায়; তার পদক্ষেপ সোজা কবরে গিয়ে পৌঁছায়। (Sheol h7585)
6 She does not consider the path of life; she does not know that her ways are unstable.
সে জীবনের পথের বিষয়ে কিছুই ভাবে না; সে উদ্দেশ্যবিহীনভাবে রাস্তায় রাস্তায় ঘুরে বেড়ায়, কিন্তু সে তা বুঝতেও পারে না।
7 So now, my sons, listen to me, and do not turn aside from the words of my mouth.
এখন তবে, হে আমার বাছারা, আমার কথা শোনো; আমি যা বলছি তা থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ো না।
8 Keep your path far from her; do not go near the door of her house,
সেই মহিলা থেকে দূরত্ব বজায় রেখে চলো, তার বাড়ির দরজার কাছে যেয়ো না,
9 lest you concede your vigor to others, and your years to one who is cruel;
পাছে তুমি অন্যান্য লোকজনের কাছে তোমার সম্মান হারাও ও নিষ্ঠুর মানুষের কাছে তোমার মর্যাদা হারাও,
10 lest strangers feast on your wealth, and your labors enrich the house of a foreigner.
পাছে অপরিচিত লোকেরা তোমার ধনসম্পদ ভোগ করে ও তোমার পরিশ্রম অন্যের বাড়িঘর সমৃদ্ধ করে।
11 At the end of your life you will groan when your flesh and your body are spent,
জীবনের শেষকালে পৌঁছে তুমি গভীর আর্তনাদ করবে, যখন তোমার মাংস ও শরীর ক্ষয়ে যাবে।
12 and you will say, “How I hated discipline, and my heart despised reproof!
তুমি বলবে, “আমি শৃঙ্খলাপরায়ণতাকে কতই না ঘৃণা করতাম! আমার হৃদয় সংশোধনকে কতই না পদদলিত করত!
13 I did not listen to the voice of my teachers or incline my ear to my mentors.
আমি আমার শিক্ষকদের বাধ্য হইনি বা আমার উপদেশকদের কথায় কর্ণপাত করিনি।
14 I am on the brink of utter ruin in the midst of the whole assembly.”
আর আমি ঈশ্বরের লোকদের সমাজে অচিরেই চরম অসুবিধায় পড়েছিলাম।”
15 Drink water from your own cistern, and running water from your own well.
নিজের জলাধার থেকেই তুমি জলপান করো, নিজের কুয়ো থেকেই প্রবাহমান জলপান করো।
16 Why should your springs flow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares?
তোমার ঝরনা কি পথঘাট ভাসিয়ে দেবে, তোমার জলপ্রবাহ কি নগরের চকে বয়ে যাবে?
17 Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers.
তা শুধু তোমারই হোক, অপরিচিত লোকেরা যেন কখনও তাতে ভাগ না বসায়।
18 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth:
তোমার ফোয়ারা আশীর্বাদধন্য হোক, ও তুমি তোমার যৌবনাবস্থার স্ত্রীতে আনন্দ উপভোগ করো।
19 A loving doe, a graceful fawn— may her breasts satisfy you always; may you be captivated by her love forever.
সে এক প্রেমময় হরিণী, এক সুতনু মৃগ— তার স্তন দুটি সর্বদা তোমাকে তৃপ্তি দিক, তার প্রেমে তুমি সর্বক্ষণ মত্ত হয়ে থাকো।
20 Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress, or embrace the bosom of a stranger?
কেন, হে আমার বাছা, অন্য একজনের স্ত্রীতে মত্ত হবে? কেন এক স্বৈরিণী নারীর বক্ষ আলিঙ্গন করবে?
21 For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and the LORD examines all his paths.
কারণ তোমার সব চালচলন সদাপ্রভু লক্ষ্য রাখেন, ও তিনি তোমার সব গতিবিধি পরীক্ষা করেন।
22 The iniquities of a wicked man entrap him; the cords of his sin entangle him.
দুষ্টদের দুষ্কর্মগুলি তাদের ফাঁদে ফেলে; তাদের পাপের দড়িগুলি তাদেরই শক্ত করে বেঁধে ফেলে।
23 He dies for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.
শৃঙ্খলাপরায়ণতার অভাবে তারা মারা যায়, নিজেদের মহামূর্খতার দরুন তারা বিপথগামী হয়।
