Proverbs 31

1 These are the words of King Lemuel—the burden that his mother taught him:

۱ کلام لموئیل پادشاه، پیغامی که مادرش به او تعلیم داد.

2 What shall I say, O my son? What, O son of my womb? What, O son of my vows?

۲ چه گویم‌ای پسر من، چه گویم‌ای پسر رحم من! و چه گویم‌ای پسر نذرهای من!

3 Do not spend your strength on women or your vigor on those who ruin kings.

۳ قوت خود را به زنان مده، و نه طریقهای خویش را به آنچه باعث هلاکت پادشاهان است.

4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to crave strong drink,

۴ پادشاهان را نمی شاید‌ای لموئیل، پادشاهان را نمی شاید که شراب بنوشند، و نه امیران را که مسکرات را بخواهند.

5 lest they drink and forget what is decreed, depriving all the oppressed of justice.

۵ مبادا بنوشند و فرایض را فراموش کنند، وداوری جمیع ذلیلان را منحرف سازند.

6 Give strong drink to one who is perishing, and wine to the bitter in soul.

۶ مسکرات را به آنانی که مشرف به هلاکتندبده. و شراب را به تلخ جانان،

7 Let him drink and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

۷ تا بنوشند و فقر خود را فراموش کنند، ومشقت خویش را دیگر بیاد نیاورند.

8 Open your mouth for those with no voice, for the cause of all the dispossessed.

۸ دهان خود را برای گنگان باز کن، و برای دادرسی جمیع بیچارگان.

9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the poor and needy.

۹ دهان خود را باز کرده، به انصاف داوری نما، و فقیر و مسکین را دادرسی فرما.

10 A wife of noble character, who can find? She is far more precious than rubies.

۱۰ زن صالحه را کیست که پیدا تواند کرد؟ قیمت او از لعلها گرانتر است.

11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he lacks nothing of value.

۱۱ دل شوهرش بر او اعتماد دارد، و محتاج منفعت نخواهد بود.

12 She brings him good and not harm all the days of her life.

۱۲ برایش تمامی روزهای عمر خود، خوبی خواهد کرد و نه بدی.

13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

۱۳ پشم و کتان را می‌جوید. و به‌دستهای خودبا رغبت کار می‌کند.

14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.

۱۴ او مثل کشتیهای تجار است، که خوراک خود را از دور می‌آورد.

15 She rises while it is still night to provide food for her household and portions for her maidservants.

۱۵ وقتی که هنوز شب است برمی خیزد، و به اهل خانه‌اش خوراک و به کنیزانش حصه ایشان را می دهد.

16 She appraises a field and buys it; from her earnings she plants a vineyard.

۱۶ درباره مزرعه فکر کرده، آن را می‌خرد، و ازکسب دستهای خود تاکستان غرس می‌نماید.

17 She girds herself with strength and shows that her arms are strong.

۱۷ کمر خود را با قوت می‌بندد، و بازوهای خویش را قوی می‌سازد.

18 She sees that her gain is good, and her lamp is not extinguished at night.

۱۸ تجارت خود را می‌بیند که نیکو است، وچراغش در شب خاموش نمی شود.

19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

۱۹ دستهای خود را به دوک دراز می‌کند، وانگشتهایش چرخ را می‌گیرد.

20 She opens her arms to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

۲۰ کفهای خود را برای فقیران مبسوطمی سازد، و دستهای خویش را برای مسکینان دراز می‌نماید.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household, for they are all clothed in scarlet.

۲۱ به جهت اهل خانه‌اش از برف نمی ترسد، زیرا که جمیع اهل خانه او به اطلس ملبس هستند.

22 She makes coverings for her bed; her clothing is fine linen and purple.

۲۲ برای خود اسبابهای زینت می‌سازد. لباسش از کتان نازک و ارغوان می‌باشد.

23 Her husband is known at the city gate, where he sits among the elders of the land.

۲۳ شوهرش در دربارها معروف می‌باشد، و در میان مشایخ ولایت می‌نشیند.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchants.

۲۴ جامه های کتان ساخته آنها را می‌فروشد، وکمربندها به تاجران می‌دهد.

25 Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the days to come.

۲۵ قوت و عزت، لباس او است، و درباره وقت آینده می‌خندد.

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

۲۶ دهان خود را به حکمت می‌گشاید، و تعلیم محبت‌آمیز بر زبان وی است.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

۲۷ به رفتار اهل خانه خود متوجه می‌شود، وخوراک کاهلی نمی خورد.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband praises her as well:

۲۸ پسرانش برخاسته، او را خوشحال می‌گویند، و شوهرش نیز او را می‌ستاید.

29 “Many daughters have done noble things, but you surpass them all!”

۲۹ دختران بسیار اعمال صالحه نمودند، اما توبر جمیع ایشان برتری داری.

30 Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

۳۰ جمال، فریبنده و زیبایی، باطل است، اما زنی که از خداوند می‌ترسد ممدوح خواهدشد.

31 Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her at the gates.

۳۱ وی را از ثمره دستهایش بدهید و اعمالش او را نزد دروازه‌ها بستاید.
