Proverbs 28
1 The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
౧ఎవరూ తరుమకుండానే దుష్టుడు పారిపోతాడు. నీతిమంతులు సింహం లాగా ధైర్యంగా ఉంటారు.
2 A land in rebellion has many rulers, but a man of understanding and knowledge maintains order.
౨దేశస్థుల దోషం వల్ల దాని పాలకులు ఎక్కువ అవుతారు. బుద్ధిజ్ఞానం గలవారిచేత దాని అధికారం స్థిర పడుతుంది.
3 A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.
౩పేదలను బాధించే పేదవాడు ఆహారపదార్థాలను కొట్టుకుపోయేలా చేసే వానతో సమానం.
4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.
౪ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని తోసిపుచ్చేవారు దుష్టులను పొగుడుతుంటారు. ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని అనుసరించేవారు వారితో పోరాడతారు.
5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD comprehend fully.
౫దుష్టులు న్యాయమేదో గ్రహించరు. యెహోవాను ఆశ్రయించే వారికి అన్నీ తెలుసు.
6 Better a poor man who walks with integrity than a rich man whose ways are perverse.
౬వంచన మూలంగా డబ్బు సంపాదించినవాడి కంటే యథార్థంగా ప్రవర్తించే దరిద్రుడు మెరుగు.
7 A discerning son keeps the law, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.
౭ఉపదేశం అంగీకరించే తనయుడు బుద్ధిమంతుడు. తుంటరుల సహవాసం చేసేవాడు తన తండ్రికి అపకీర్తి తెస్తాడు.
8 He who increases his wealth by interest and usury lays it up for one who is kind to the poor.
౮డబ్బు వడ్డీకిచ్చి అన్యాయ లాభం చేత ఆస్తి పెంచుకునేవాడు దరిద్రులను కరుణించేవాడి కోసం దాన్ని కూడబెడతాడు.
9 Whoever turns his ear away from hearing the law, even his prayer is detestable.
౯ధర్మశాస్త్రం వినబడకుండా చెవులు మూసుకునే వాడి ప్రార్థన అసహ్యం.
10 He who leads the upright along the path of evil will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good.
౧౦యథార్థవంతులను దుర్మార్గంలో పడవేసే వాడు తాను తవ్విన గోతిలో తానే పడతాడు. నిష్కళంకులకు మంచి వారసత్వం దొరుకుతుంది.
11 A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man with discernment sees through him.
౧౧ఐశ్వర్యవంతుడు తన దృష్టికి తానే జ్ఞాని. వివేకం గల పేదవాడు వాడి అసలు రంగు బయట పెడతాడు.
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
౧౨నీతిపరులకు జయం కలగడం మహాఘనతకు కారణం. దుష్టులు అధికారానికి వచ్చేటప్పుడు ప్రజలు దాగిఉంటారు.
13 He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.
౧౩అతిక్రమాలను దాచిపెట్టేవాడు వర్ధిల్లడు. వాటిని ఒప్పుకుని విడిచిపెట్టేవాడు కనికరం పొందుతాడు.
14 Blessed is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
౧౪ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఎవరైతే చేడు పనులు చేయకుండా భయంతో ఉంటారో వాడు ధన్యుడు. హృదయాన్ని కఠినపరచుకొనేవాడు కీడులో పడిపోతాడు.
15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
౧౫పేద ప్రజలను పరిపాలించే దుష్టుడు గర్జించే సింహం, దాడి చేసే ఎలుగుబంటి లాంటి వాడు.
16 A leader who lacks judgment is also a great oppressor, but he who hates dishonest profit will prolong his days.
౧౬వివేకం లేకుండా ప్రజానీకాన్ని పీడించే అధికారి క్రూరుడు. దగాకోరుతనాన్ని ద్వేషించేవాడు దీర్ఘాయుష్మంతుడౌతాడు.
17 A man burdened by bloodguilt will flee into the Pit; let no one support him.
౧౭వేరొకడి రక్తం చిందించిన వాడు దోషం మూటగట్టుకొన్నవాడు. వాడు మరణ దినం దాకా పారిపోతూనే ఉంటాడు.
18 He who walks with integrity will be kept safe, but whoever is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.
౧౮యథార్థంగా ప్రవర్తించేవాడు క్షేమంగా ఉంటాడు. మూర్ఖప్రవర్తన గలవాడు హఠాత్తుగా పడిపోతాడు.
19 The one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
౧౯తన పొలం సేద్యం చేసుకునే వాడికి కడుపునిండా అన్నం దొరకుతుంది. వ్యర్థమైన వాటిని అనుసరించేవారికి కలిగే పేదరికం అంతా ఇంతా కాదు.
20 A faithful man will abound with blessings, but one eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
౨౦నమ్మకమైనవాడికి దీవెనలు మెండుగా కలుగుతాయి. ధనవంతుడయ్యేటందుకు ఆత్రంగా ఉండే వాడు శిక్ష తప్పించుకోడు.
21 To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
౨౧పక్షపాతం చూపడం మంచిది కాదు. కేవలం ఒక్క రొట్టెముక్క కోసం కొందరు తప్పు చేస్తారు.
22 A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty awaits him.
౨౨చెడు దృష్టిగలవాడు ఆస్తి సంపాదించాలని ఆతురపడతాడు. తనకు దరిద్రత వస్తుందని వాడికి తెలియదు.
23 He who rebukes a man will later find more favor than one who flatters with his tongue.
౨౩ముఖ స్తుతి మాటలు పలికే వాడికంటే మనుషులకు బుద్ధి చెప్పేవాడు తుదకు ఎక్కువ మెప్పు పొందుతాడు.
24 He who robs his father or mother, saying, “It is not wrong,” is a companion to the man who destroys.
౨౪తన తలిదండ్రుల సొమ్ము దోచుకుని “అది ద్రోహం కాదు” అనుకొనేవాడు నాశనం చేసే వాడికి జతకాడు.
25 A greedy man stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
౨౫దురాశ గలవాడు కలహం రేపుతాడు. యెహోవా పట్ల నమ్మకం పెట్టుకునే వాడు వర్ధిల్లుతాడు.
26 He who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.
౨౬తన మనస్సులోని ఆలోచనలను నమ్ముకునేవాడు బుద్ధిహీనుడు. జ్ఞానంగా ప్రవర్తించేవాడు తప్పించుకుంటాడు.
27 Whoever gives to the poor will not be in need, but he who hides his eyes will receive many curses.
౨౭పేదలకు ఇచ్చే వాడికి లేమి కలగదు. వారిని చూడకుండా కళ్ళు మూసుకునే వాడికి ఎన్నో శాపాలు కలుగుతాయి.
28 When the wicked come to power, people hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous flourish.
౨౮దుష్టులు అధికారంలోకి వస్తున్నప్పుడు ప్రజలు దాక్కుంటారు. దుర్మార్గులు నశించేటప్పుడు నీతిమంతులు వృద్ధి చెందుతారు.
