< Proverbs 17 >
1 Better a dry morsel in quietness than a house full of feasting with strife.
Gara ka ci busasshen burodi da kwanciyar rai kuma shiru da ka je cin abinci a gidan da ke cike da biki amma da ɓacin rai.
2 A wise servant will rule over a disgraceful son and share his inheritance as one of the brothers.
Bawa mai hikima zai yi mulki a kan da mai rashin kunya, kuma zai raba gādo kamar ɗaya daga cikin’yan’uwansa.
3 A crucible for silver and a furnace for gold, but the LORD is the tester of hearts.
Ana gwajin azurfa da kuma zinariya da wuta, amma Ubangiji ne mai gwajin zuciya.
4 A wicked man listens to evil lips; a liar gives ear to a destructive tongue.
Mugun mutum kan mai da hankali ga mugayen leɓuna; maƙaryaci yakan kasa kunne ga harshen ƙarairayi.
5 He who mocks the poor insults their Maker; whoever gloats over calamity will not go unpunished.
Duk wanda yake wa matalauta ba’a yana zagin Mahaliccinsu ne; duk wanda ya yi murna akan masifar da ta sami wani za a hukunta shi.
6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of a son is his father.
Jikoki rawanin tsofaffi ne, kuma iyaye su ne abin taƙamar’ya’yansu.
7 Eloquent words are unfit for a fool; how much worse are lying lips to a ruler!
Leɓunan basira ba su dace da wawa ba, ya ma fi muni a ce mai mulki yana da leɓunan ƙarya!
8 A bribe is a charm to its giver; wherever he turns, he succeeds.
Cin hanci kamar sihiri yake ga wanda yake ba da shi; ko’ina ya juye, yakan yi nasara.
9 Whoever conceals an offense promotes love, but he who brings it up separates friends.
Duk wanda ya rufe laifi yana inganta ƙauna ne, amma duk wanda ya yi ta maimaita batu yakan raba abokai na kusa.
10 A rebuke cuts into a man of discernment deeper than a hundred lashes cut into a fool.
Tsawata kan sa mutum ya koyi basira fiye da abin da wawa zai koya ko da an dūke shi sau ɗari.
11 An evil man seeks only rebellion; a cruel messenger will be sent against him.
Mugayen mutane sukan kuta tawaye da Allah; za a aika manzo mutuwa a kansu.
12 It is better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool in his folly.
Gara a haɗu da beyar da aka ƙwace wa’ya’ya fiye da a sadu da wawa cikin wautarsa.
13 If anyone returns evil for good, evil will never leave his house.
In mutum ya sāka alheri da mugunta, mugunta ba za tă taɓa barin gidansa ba.
14 To start a quarrel is to release a flood; so abandon the dispute before it breaks out.
Farawar faɗa tana kamar ɓarkewa madatsar ruwa ne, saboda haka ka bar batun kafin faɗa ta ɓarke.
15 Acquitting the guilty and condemning the righteous— both are detestable to the LORD.
Baratar da mai laifi a kuma hukunta mai adalci, Ubangiji ya ƙi su biyu.
16 Why should the fool have money in his hand with no intention of buying wisdom?
Mene ne amfanin kuɗi a hannun wawa, da yake ba shi da sha’awar samun hikima?
17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Aboki yakan yi ƙauna a koyaushe, ɗan’uwa kuma, ai, don ɗaukar nawayar juna ne aka haife shi.
18 A man lacking judgment strikes hands in pledge and puts up security for his neighbor.
Mutumin da ba shi da azanci yakan ɗauki lamunin wani ya kuma ɗauki nauyin biyan basusuwan maƙwabci.
19 He who loves transgression loves strife; he who builds his gate high invites destruction.
Duk mai son faɗa yana son zunubi, duk wanda ya gina ƙofar shiga mai tsawo yana gayyatar hallaka.
20 The one with a perverse heart finds no good, and he whose tongue is deceitful falls into trouble.
Mutum mai muguwar zuciya ba ya cin gaba; duk wanda yake da harshen ruɗu kan shiga wahala.
21 A man fathers a fool to his own grief; the father of a fool has no joy.
Kasance da wawa kamar ɗa yakan kawo baƙin ciki babu farin ciki ga mahaifin wawa.
22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
Zuciya mai farin ciki magani ne mai kyau, amma bakin rai kan busar da ƙasusuwa.
23 A wicked man takes a covert bribe to subvert the course of justice.
Mugun mutum yakan karɓa cin hanci a asirce don yă lalace yin adalci.
24 Wisdom is the focus of the discerning, but the eyes of a fool wander to the ends of the earth.
Mutum mai basira kan kafa idonsa a kan hikima, amma idanun wawa suna a kan ƙarshen duniya.
25 A foolish son brings grief to his father and bitterness to her who bore him.
Da yake wawa yakan kawo baƙin ciki ga mahaifinsa da ɓacin rai ga wanda ya haife shi.
26 It is surely not good to punish the innocent or to flog a noble for his honesty.
Ba shi da kyau a hukunta marar laifi, ko a bulale shugaba saboda mutuncinsu.
27 A man of knowledge restrains his words, and a man of understanding maintains a calm spirit.
Mutum mai sani yakan yi la’akari da amfani da kalmomi, mutum mai basira kuma natsattse ne.
28 Even a fool is considered wise if he keeps silent, and discerning when he holds his tongue.
Ko wawa in bai buɗe bakinsa ba, za a zaci shi mai hikima ne, da kuma mai basira inda ya ƙame bakinsa.
