Proverbs 15
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
௧சாந்தமான பதில் கடுங்கோபத்தை அடக்கும்; கடுஞ்சொற்களோ கோபத்தை எழுப்பும்.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.
௨ஞானிகளின் நாவு அறிவை உபயோகப்படுத்தும்; மூடர்களின் வாயோ புத்தியீனத்தைக் கக்கும்.
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.
௩யெகோவாவின் கண்கள் எந்த இடத்திலுமிருந்து, நல்லவர்களையும், தீயவர்களையும் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கிறது.
4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
௪ஆரோக்கியமுள்ள நாவு ஜீவமரம்; நாவின் மாறுபாடோ ஆவியை நொறுக்கும்.
5 A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction is prudent.
௫மூடன் தன்னுடைய தகப்பனுடைய புத்தியை அலட்சியப்படுத்துகிறான்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலைக் கவனித்து நடக்கிறவனோ விவேகி.
6 The house of the righteous has great treasure, but the income of the wicked is trouble.
௬நீதிமானுடைய வீட்டில் அதிக பொக்கிஷம் உண்டு; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வருமானத்திலோ துன்பம் உண்டு.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the hearts of fools.
௭ஞானிகளின் உதடுகள் அறிவை விதைக்கும்; மூடர்களின் இருதயமோ அப்படியல்ல.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
௮துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய பலி யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பானது; செம்மையானவர்களின் ஜெபமோ அவருக்குப் பிரியம்.
9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.
௯துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வழி யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பானது; நீதியைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவனையோ அவர் நேசிக்கிறார்.
10 Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.
௧0வழியைவிட்டு விலகுகிறவனுக்குப் புத்திமதி எரிச்சலாக இருக்கும்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை வெறுக்கிறவன் சாவான்.
௧௧பாதாளமும் அழிவும் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்கு முன்பாக இருக்க, மனுமக்களுடைய இருதயம் அதிகமாக அவர் முன்பாக இருக்குமல்லவோ? (Sheol h7585)
12 A mocker does not love to be reproved, nor will he consult the wise.
௧௨பரியாசக்காரன் தன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவனை நேசிக்கமாட்டான்; ஞானவான்களிடத்தில் போகவுமாட்டான்.
13 A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.
௧௩மனமகிழ்ச்சி முகமலர்ச்சியைத் தரும்; மனதுக்கத்தினாலே ஆவி முறிந்துபோகும்.
14 A discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
௧௪புத்திமானுடைய மனம் அறிவைத்தேடும்; மூடர்களின் வாயோ மதியீனத்தை மேயும்.
15 All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
௧௫சிறுமைப்பட்டவனுடைய நாட்களெல்லாம் தீங்குள்ளவைகள்; மனரம்மியமோ நிரந்தர விருந்து.
16 Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.
௧௬சஞ்சலத்தோடு கூடிய அதிகப் பொருட்களைவிட, யெகோவாவைப் பற்றும் பயத்தோடு கூடிய கொஞ்சப்பொருளே உத்தமம்.
17 Better a dish of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox with hatred.
௧௭பகையோடு இருக்கும் கொழுத்த எருதின் கறியைவிட, சிநேகத்தோடு இருக்கும் இலைக்கறியே நல்லது.
18 A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.
௧௮கோபக்காரன் சண்டையை எழுப்புகிறான்; நீடியசாந்தமுள்ளவனோ சண்டையை அமர்த்துகிறான்.
19 The way of the slacker is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.
௧௯சோம்பேறியின் வழி முள்வேலிக்குச் சமம்; நீதிமானுடைய வழியோ ராஜபாதை.
20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.
௨0ஞானமுள்ள மகன் தகப்பனைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துகிறான்; மதியற்ற மனிதனோ தன்னுடைய தாயை அலட்சியப்படுத்துகிறான்.
21 Folly is joy to one who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding walks a straight path.
௨௧மூடத்தனம் புத்தியீனனுக்குச் சந்தோஷம்; புத்திமானோ தன்னுடைய செயல்களைச் செம்மைப்படுத்துகிறான்.
22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
௨௨ஆலோசனை இல்லாததால் எண்ணங்கள் சிதைந்துபோகும்; ஆலோசனைக்காரர்கள் அநேகர் இருந்தால் அவைகள் உறுதிப்படும்.
23 A man takes joy in a fitting reply— and how good is a timely word!
௨௩மனிதனுக்குத் தன்னுடைய வாய்மொழியினால் மகிழ்ச்சியுண்டாகும்; ஏற்றகாலத்தில் சொன்ன வார்த்தை எவ்வளவு நல்லது!
௨௪கீழான பாதாளத்தைவிட்டு விலகும்படி, விவேகிக்கு வாழ்வின் வழியானது உன்னதத்தை நோக்கும் வழியாகும். (Sheol h7585)
25 The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He protects the boundaries of the widow.
௨௫அகங்காரியின் வீட்டைக் யெகோவா பிடுங்கிப்போடுவார்; விதவையின் எல்லையையோ நிலைப்படுத்துவார்.
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.
௨௬துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய நினைவுகள் யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பானவைகள்; சுத்தமானவர்களுடைய வார்த்தைகளோ இன்பமானவைகள்.
27 He who is greedy for unjust gain brings trouble on his household, but he who hates bribes will live.
௨௭பொருளாசைக்காரன் தன்னுடைய வீட்டைக் கலைக்கிறான்; லஞ்சங்களை வெறுக்கிறவனோ பிழைப்பான்.
28 The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil.
௨௮நீதிமானுடைய மனம் பதில் சொல்ல யோசிக்கும்; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வாயோ தீமைகளைக் கொப்பளிக்கும்.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
௨௯துன்மார்க்கர்களுக்குக் யெகோவா தூரமாக இருக்கிறார்; நீதிமான்களின் ஜெபத்தையோ கேட்கிறார்.
30 The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.
௩0கண்களின் ஒளி இருதயத்தைப் பூரிப்பாக்கும்; நற்செய்தி எலும்புகளை ஆரோக்கியமாக்கும்.
31 He who listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.
௩௧வாழ்வுக்கேதுவான கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் காது ஞானிகளிடத்திலே தங்கும்.
32 He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
௩௨புத்திமதியைத் தள்ளிவிடுகிறவன் தன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவை வெறுக்கிறான்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலைக் கேட்கிறவனோ ஞானமடைவான்.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
௩௩யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயப்படுதல் ஞானத்தைப் போதிக்கும்; மேன்மைக்கு முன்னானது தாழ்மை.
